Negative experience: Always extremely hot in there. It’s unbearable, they keep the doors shut instead of opening them and not letting fresh air in. My 5 month old daughter was covered in a heat rash. Most change rooms without a toilet smelled like urine.
Fantastic experience: Great facility, Gayle at reception is an absolute gem
Negative experience: Been taking my daughter here for swimming lessons for a little under 12 months. Found one older lady who I will not name to be excellent and totally engaged with the children and the discipline. All the others are school kids who do not teach any technique, refuse to get their hair wet, do not correct the children’s posture, nothing. If you want to sit here on your iPhone and tell everyone your kids in swimming lessons but don’t actually care this is the place for you it’s cheap. If you want your child to learn how to swim? Stay away
Negative experience: Based purely on our experience with swimming lessons. Absolute waste of money. I am an average swimmer yet I could teach my daughter more skills than what she gets out of these classes. They do constant laps without any corrective action or tips. The instructors can’t be bothered and I even had to ask one if he was going to teach my daughter anything or just continue flirting with another instructor. Tried several different instructors but overall we’re all poor. Much happier at another swim school in Bendigo where my daughter has improved within the first class compared to 6+ months of trying to stick it out at gurri wanyarra
Negative experience: Pool and spa very cold for heated indoor facilities
Negative experience: I swam at this pool nearly every weekend for over a year in my mermaid tail and sometimes just in my monofin. After So long a manager I’ve never seen tells me that I’m not allowed to that they are banned, Yet not a single document stating this rule or ban actually even exist. I emailed head office several times about this as has not been a single drowning in Australia in the last 20 years documented caused by mermaid tales. I have Not even had the decency of a reply this was my safe place. I did my physiotherapy after major spinal surgery here and I’m a certified diver yet they My sport professional swimmers swim with monofins, Olympics swimmers swim with them as well But apparently, I cannot and their banned Not a single shred of evidence That this rule even exists and was under the managers discretion who I’ve never met Over 12 months coming there countless lifeguards never had a problem. It was very disappointing as the joy it brought to some of The children and adults that attend specifically to watch me swim As I am training for the 2025 mermaid Olympics in Germany. Now I do not have a local place to train
Negative experience: 2 starts because Tara who runs the Step classes is an absolute gem! Otherwise - Very disappointed. Cleanliness is sub par. The wet areas especially can do with a very thorough clean, both in the pool and gym. Communication is an absolute mess. Cancellation was more difficult than it needed to be. Tried to use the app, which instructs you to go into the gym. You go in and are told to complete a form online. You then “Apply” to have the membership cancelled online which takes days to “approve”. There is no confirmation as to whether the 30 days notice starts from application or approval date. You can email to clarify but the reply is just a generic “your membership is cancelled”. I expected more.
Negative experience: The facilities are good but the oldest male lifeguard there is on a massive power trip and needs to control his ego. He’s making people lift their arms up while in the spa and has done it on more than one occasion. It’s fair enough that people wear the blue bands to make sure they’ve paid their fair share, but it’s totally ridiculous to police people and check while trying to relax in the spa.
Fantastic experience: A very enjoyable place to swim. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Lots of space to swim or whatever.

Negative experience: DON'T JOIN THE MEMBERSHIP. It is easy to get in, but canceling is very difficult. If you see the cancelation has done on their website, but you will know that has not done properly and you should try again and again. Also during that waiting you should pay for the time. I am so disappointed about the membership. If you miss just once the payment day one or two days, they will charge more than your weekly or monthly pay in just a few days.

Negative experience: Payed for 10 visits used 6 and the have cancelled my other 5 if not used in six months. It's not a membership it's paid outright. Will not be returning if this is the way they treat paying customers. I want what I paid for.
Negative experience: This pool is always over crowded and always has the majority of the pool area roped off for swimming classes. Bendigo is really lacking more pools.
Positive experience: Facility is great, staff are great. But I hate how they prioritise swimming lesson over public and removed public swimmers out of the pools and restrict their access. I’m sorry but swimming lessons should not be taking up entire pools, you guys need to schedule them better and give public swimmers access to all the pools they have paid for, not a corner off a pool or the kids pool.
Negative experience: The Swell Cafe Is an absolute disgrace. The manager should be let go instantly. We ordered a ham and cheese toastie ($9.00) and it was the worst toastie Australian Cuisine has to offer so far. The one cheese slice was so tiny, it covered maybe 50% of the bread. ONE tomatoe slice and the cheapest ham you could imagine. Cafe Maldon makes much better toasties at a lower price. Upon complaint, the answer was: We don't make them ourselves, no refund was offered
Negative experience: This place is shocking,the life guards don’t do their jobs and when someone confronts them about it,they dont do anything,and they are rude and disrespectful, and they have no clear sense of rules and don’t listen to people’s concerns about the facility,it is honestly beyond the joke with how childish and disrespectful the staff are and I do not recommend this place to anyone until they actually get respectful staff and now my friends kids are scared to even step into a pool near any life guard,this place needs to come under new management
Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing place, cannot believe we've not come here sooner. There is an indoor playground "splash park", two heated pools for the younger children and then a lane pool for swimming laps. There is also a gym upstairs. The cafe has great service, not a huge range of food, but a great little cafe nonetheless. There are tables and chairs near the splash park area where you can sit and watch your kids, you can also bring in your own food. Seriously a great place to go on a hot summer's day. Cost me $15 on concession for me and my 9yr old son.

Fantastic experience: it was $14 for my 3 kids to swim and there was a slide that they let kids go on. this pool dose not feel like they punish you for just swimming not doing a class at fantastic cost

Negative experience: After coming here for a swim with our 2 year old toddler specifically for the splash zone area, we paid and then found out after walking in that all the little kids pools were closed as there had been an accident. These things happen which I understand but when we tell reception we're here with our toddler they could have said something from the get go about the kids pools being closed and that we'll be having to compete for space in the 50m lanes. Not only that but to see staff standing around and doing nothing to try get it open, or even to communicate was a little upsetting. We asked how long the pools will be closed for and was told "not sure, not all day, I don't know". The rest of the pool was crowded due to the circumstances but we managed to cool down in the 50m pool ramp whilst my partner ordered food. The person who served her was snarky, getting the food wrong and also serving it up cold. After that we then asked staff for any updates as no one seemed to be doing anything to try get the kids pools open, to which we were told it would be closed all day. Really disappointing and unprofessional.
Fantastic experience: This is my local gym and I was so happy when the indoor pool and gym were built in Kangaroo Flat. I love the relaxed, inclusive vibe and that people of all ages and abilities can exercise here without judgement. You don’t have to look a certain way or wear the latest gym gear to fit in. I only go to classes and the instructors are first rate - thank you!

Fantastic experience: Came in 2day for a look around at the gym/pools with my daughter and we were really impressed Caren the manager was fantastic to deal with and made us feel very welcome
Negative experience: Swimming instructors are great. Reception staff are a mixed bag- mostly to do with policies of the business (you’ll get different answers from each staff member). No family memberships either. The facilities in general are great. There are plenty of change rooms with change tables which is a positive, but they are not designated as parents rooms so they will often fill up with (usually) older patrons. When schools come in for classes- good luck getting a change room at all.

Fantastic experience: Pool set up great for toddlers and those who like shallow water, playground was enjoyed by the kids. Lifeguards did a good job directing kids who were disturbing other patrons in the pool with rough play.
Positive experience: The pool is great and so is the playground. Would give more stars but the canteen lady was incredibly rude. I recommend packing a lunch and drinks so to avoid them.

Negative experience: I have been spoken to in an unprofessional way I have been told I am lying. I have been hung up on. I have asked to resolve my issue and to escalate this matter to senior management to no avail. This has occurred twice with the same employee Mitch. I believe he has no diplomatic skills and has left me feeling very upset and angry as a community member of the Gurri Gurri Wanyarra. Penny
Negative experience: Bought overpriced chips. Set up for kids to eat. Went back into Swell to get some sauce. Was told sauce costs 40c. Didn’t have wallet or phone on me, thought they would show some common sense. Of course they didn’t and they saved the organisation 80c - what superstars!
Negative experience: I visit once a week and have done for several months and every single time I have been here the changing/shower facilities are extremely dirty. It looks as though they are cleaned only once a day. Always dirt and hair on the floor, wet benches and dirty toilets. Nowhere dry to put dry clothes. There should be a staff member at the ready to wipe over and squeegee floors. Alot of elderly come here for exercise and it is definitely a fall hazard . If only this area was kept clean. I would then be encouraged to visit more often and give a better review.
Positive experience: Costs $22 a week for gym and pool access. Classes are extra. Not enough gym equipment for the number of people during peak times -early morning and late afternoon so avoid these times. Would appreciate it if they were to enforce the no towel no work out rules they display everywhere. Pools are often very busy as well with kids and adults classes. Have sauna and spa. Things don't work often, like heating/cooling, hot water and gates. Do not respond to enquiries in a timely fashion if at all.
Fantastic experience: Staff are fantastic and very helpful! Pools,spas ,sauna and steam room. Plenty to keep you occupied. Josh took less than 5 minutes to set up The Aquatic Membership for me Now I can enjoy Gurri Wanyarra as often as I like!
Positive experience: Great facility. We are new to Bendigo and were looking for a 50m pool to swim laps. Front desk said to come back after swimming carnival finished at 2.30pm. Returned at 2.30 to find they close off half the pool and you can only swim 25m lengths. Probably better off going to Peter Krenz to do laps
Positive experience: Visited a few times and have so far not had any negative experiences - facilities are great and haven't had any issues with the staff. Only problem I've had was after couple visits (And using the shower facilities there each time) I flared up with with Tinea across my feet a few days later - so I suggest using Sandals/Thongs when using those facilities. Outside of that, have yet to experience anything bad, but will know more once I have used the Gym facilities. EDIT: Dropping a star because I am confused by their Direct Debit system for memberships. My details haven't changed yet I keep getting emails saying "I owe $30.50" and such... and without warning they take $65 in two separate transactions at the same time. I make sure I have money in my account when the due dates arrive, so why it is so chaotic has me raising an eyebrow at the full legitimacy of this system.
Negative experience: So upset with our experience! My partner and I both signed up for the 100 days free. I canceled mine before the time was up (mine you they still charged!) but my partner started after me and when we went in today they charged him $164 for overdue fees. Told us they couldn’t investigate until Monday! Not fair when people are struggling at the moment. I won’t be re-signing up. Great facility, shame it’s let down by management.
Negative experience: Unfortunately only 1 star due to mostly the staff, the lifeguards are obviously bored or think there above everyone they tell you off for the most simplest of things like rediculous, its like walking on egg shells coming here, everyone talks about it not just us, dont get me started on the absolute rude swell cafe staff, that dont even acknowledge you when you come to the counter, the lady was making coffee fair enough, could of at least acknowledged, but no instead tells my selective mutism daughter off she thought was standing on some bar but was standing on tip toes patiently waiting for her icecream, after this I just left, brought food elsewhere. If it wasn't for the amazing swim teacher my daughter has we would be going elsewhere!!

Fantastic experience: Facilities and staff are fantastic. The Sauna has been overly hot recently, in the mid to high 80's. Was much better when it was 78-80'c.
Negative experience: When I enrolled myself and daughter to swimming lessons, was spoken that onlу in case enrollment is less than 30 days I will be charged for 1 months after cancellation. No paperwork, contract or email was provided with, only verbal explanation while signing electronic form in their iPad. How surprised I was when cancelling 1 year membership of my daughter and 3 months of mine due moving interstate, to know they will charge us 30 days after cancellation. Literally we will be in Adelaide paying for this lessons in Bendigo Terrible gipsy business - be cute selling and horrible when you are the customer. Sadly there are not so many entertainment spots in city and Bendigo people have to eat such providers as competitors are missed. Just be aware - signing any contract or buying any their products double check everything, every small font word. And ask your copy of the contract.
Fantastic experience: Amazing time here, fully wheelchair accessible, a disabled toilet with a lifting bed and overhead tracking and lifting machine. Wheelchair available that can go into the pool. They require 70k to replace the broken pump in the splash park area in the meantime it does not run, time for the council to contribute for it
Negative experience: I wish I could leave 6 ‘one star reviews’ for each disappointed child. Family visiting from out of town, very excited to take them there. Packed up 6 children only to find the slash park out of order. Informed it has been for several months. MONTHS!! That just isn’t acceptable. If it hadn’t taken us over an hour to get ready I would’ve turned around and walked back out. Don’t open a business if you can’t afford the maintenance.
Negative experience: Pretty poor area manager tbh who obviously is all about dollars and cents. Obviously has no idea about customer service or managerial experience. Good example was lately the sauna and steam rooms were closed. Initially by notice for a few days that turned into nearly 4 weeks and yet no discount for members who had paid for that service in their memberships. Needs to look in the mirror and have a good look at himself! Without members you have nothing Rod!! As a manager myself I would without hesitation offered my members half price until it was resolved! That's what professionalism is!!

Fantastic experience: I love this place (and I'm not a gym person). It's very community minded, inclusive and the staff are professional and friendly. Just wish the lockdowns would end so we can get fit and healthy again. Also- I notice the pool/spas are a bit grubby in some places. Maybe a good clean while everything is offline would help?

Positive experience: After our swim we decided to stay for a cuppa at your kiosk, to support our locals. Well we won't be The lady serving is obviously in a job she hates, she really needs to be in a behind the scenes type of job where the public are not I cannot comprehend how you do not serve full cream milk though are happy to serve a range of other milks, some of which is full of sugar.

Fantastic experience: Undoubtedly the best well being center in Greater Bendigo region. Great gym, nice indoor pools including the warm water facility for rehabilitation requirements, friendly but strict instructors, friendly staff, great location and ambience, great music, clean change rooms and wash rooms, ample parking and easy escape to the wonderful Kangaroo Flat Bendigo Creek trail, great timing (6.00 am to 9.00 pm) and there are much more to say...The only comment probably is the delayed response to emails. Highly recommended.

Positive experience: I go for my hydro program, the toilets and showers need to be hosed out more often, hate going to the loo and the floor has rubbish and dirt on it, the showers need to be attended to more often, rubbish and dirt on the floors, I always take an extra towel to stand on.

Negative experience: Facilities are excellent with excellent teachers. However, the system used for direct debits for memberships is abysmal. The late fees are insane, almost more than membership, and the company that chases you for your 'considerable' debt of $16 + $10 late fee either asks you to pay by bank transfer by ENTERING YOUR ONLINE BANKING DETAILS ON THEIR WEBSITE (as in asking for login details to you account) or pay by credit card that is immediately met by a server run time error, regardless of browser or OS used. Please shift your payment facilities to a company that at-least has a credible website, thank you.

Negative experience: Hi there, facilities are very good. Staff is pleasant enough, even trainers in the gym don't care too much it seems. Just be aware what you are signing up for. Please read the small print. If you like to cancel, make sure at least 30 days before it expires. If you put your membership on hold, you will pay $22/each month, plus your contract will extend for that time!I l don't understand, why my contract did not just end after 12 months! Apparently even if you sign up for 12 months, the contract stays open and you continue to pay. Why gyms are still allowed to do this, I can't understand. If you like late at night, be aware off early closing times. Other gyms offer 24/7.

Fantastic experience: We have visited here a few times since it has opened and my daughter loves it. We recently had her Birthday party here. The staff were amazing as was the Party host! i cannot fault their Party package it was amazing! I was allowed to bring food as well as had the pool cater the usual party food of Pie, chips etc. The staff were very accommodating and very easy going. We had an epic time! Will def come back!!

Fantastic experience: FANTASTIC only recently opened. Excellent facilities including walk in pool a bad spa for "oldies " or disabled (chair lift also avail). Gym upstairs (didn't use). Basic cafe. Free lockers. Womens, Mens and family/unisex showers etc. Seniors price available.

Fantastic experience: Affordable, got great parking, big pools, spa and sauna, a children's area, a gym, great changing rooms and bright. You also have lockers that you can store your things and furniture around the pool if you're looking to relax. The staff are friendly and explain pricing and answer any questions very well. I recommend getting a swim pass as it's cheaper than going in and paying every time and rewarding. The only criticism I have is sometimes the staff screw up the bands around your wrist and if you have hairy arms it stings taking them off so be careful of that. The showers are good and I genuinely think it's one of the best pools I've been to. Definitely will go back again and again. Going there today.

Fantastic experience: The pools here are set out nicely. There is one big pool that has some lanes in it and an open area to swim in. There is a warm pool for smaller kids to play in. There is also a jacuzzi and pool for the more older people. And there is a splash park with slides and water features for the kids. This place is amazing and I would highly recommend coming here.

Fantastic experience: Love the pool facilities here, the waterpark is super cool and there is a variety of heated pools for kids, adults, swim and play.
