Our comment from FitFit Australia about Knox Leisureworks:
Knox Leisureworks is a community-oriented sports center in Australia that offers a wide range of facilities for families and individuals alike. Visitors often praise the cleanliness of the premises and the friendly and helpful staff. The center features a variety of pools, including a large lap pool and a fun water playground for kids, which many children find enjoyable. Parents can take advantage of the excellent swimming instructors who are caring and dedicated to fostering water safety skills in children.
While many experiences are positive, some visitors have expressed disappointment regarding certain aspects of the facility. The decision to close the daycare has been particularly disheartening for many parents, as it significantly impacts their ability to utilize the gym services. Additionally, the pool temperature has been inconsistent, and some guests have noted issues with the customer service, especially in the cafeteria and concerning lifeguard policies that can feel overly strict at times.
Despite these challenges, Knox Leisureworks remains a go-to destination for many families looking for a friendly environment to stay active and enjoy time with their kids. The community feel and ongoing classes make it a valuable asset to the local area.

Knox Leisureworks: Opinions
Negative experience: They have open day today at yet I have taken my 2 children who are members and they tell me I have pay $5 to come in when I am myself is not taking part in any activity at all. Very disappointed in that . I could understand if I was involved in the activity then sure have no problem at all.
Negative experience: We’ve visited three times after pulling our children (ages 3 and 1) from swimming lessons, and had a wonderful experience on our first two visits. Our 3-year-old daughter, who is quite cautious around water, especially enjoyed going down the frog water slide. The slide is quite fast, and I needed to catch her at the bottom until she felt comfortable. However, during our most recent visit, after using the slide for over an hour (and during our previous visits), we were told that she was now too tall to use it. I would love to understand how many children of the appropriate size and water confidence are actually able to use this slide. Even though we adhered to the ‘rules’ and pink wristband policy, which required us to accompany her at all times (including catching her at the bottom of the slide), we were informed she could no longer use it due to her height. It seems unrealistic that the slide is effectively limited to children under the age of 2, as it doesn’t accommodate the average water confidence or height of slightly older toddlers. Could you clarify the purpose of this slide if most children beyond infancy are restricted from using it?
Negative experience: Arrived late Friday morning during a school term for my first piece of lap swimming at this centre. Dauntingly, I found the car park packed. Incredibly, though, upon inspection I found that there were only four people actually swimming in the four lanes left after half of the pool had been over-allocated to water aerobics. Unlike the indoor pools at Ringwood and Box Hill the heating did not appear excessive ... oppressive. The level of chlorination of the pool, as per indoor pool standard, was sufficient to strip my skin of all its oil ... the reason I normally choose to swim outdoors. This shire desperately needs an outdoor pool. A big negative was the absence of a drink fountain - something I have not encountered much over the decades. That needs to be rectified quickly. Another negative is the right turn off of Boronia Rd. It felt as if I waited a record time (for lights) to get a green. Another negative was that I had to push the shower button more than twenty times to get enough water for a shower. One final negative is the absence of online notification of lap lane availability - something that has become standard, elsewhere. I am currently inclined to choose this pool over Ringwood if they were the only two options.
Fantastic experience: Good, clean and not overly busy during the day. Good facilities.
Negative experience: Dear Knox leisureworks team, Belgravia & Knox city council, Honestly, shame on you for closing the creche! How sad for members and creche staff. An excellent service for many parents in the area, enabling them the opportunity to be active and healthy. The ability to take an hour or so out can make a world of difference for most carers. I used to love coming to this centre but, the heart and soul is gone. The team at the creche have always gone above and beyond caring and providing educational opportunities for my child, You can see the difference is makes to parents and children who use this service. As Belgravia manages the centre on behalf of Knox leisureworks, we all assumed their goal was to support the health and fitness of families. I understand this is a hard decision and that Belgravia chose to make it due to increasing financial costs. Alas, just like all big leisure centres in the area you have succumbed. However, this decision is also a statement from Knox council and Belgravia that shows the health of parents (particularly mums!) Is of little importance. It's sad that in this modern world we no longer value or respect the role of parents in raising future generations. Obviously, this shows at the end of the day it's all about cost cutting and disregarding the most vulnerable population groups. Creche ladies, Cafe beautiful staff and gym trainers are some of the best things about this facility. Beautiful swimming instructors are the only reason we return.
Positive experience: This place is just exquisite. I take my kids here every week and the customer service is just top notch. Majority of the time when i take my boys, I'm greeted by the lovely Travis at the customer service desk and he never fails to make sure our visit is off to a great start with his ability to maintain professional and have welcoming manor. Keep up the hard work Travis and the rest of the employees who make our visits the best possible
Negative experience: Went for a casual pass swim with our kids. Really disappointed that the location of the slide means there is a really low height restriction for kids as young as 2. If neither of your slides accommodate a range of heights, move the frog slide or install a new age appropriate one in the pool. Kind of cruel to make 2-6 year olds watch others have fun slides they’re not allowed to use. Not inclusive at all.
Positive experience: Great facilities, friendly and helpful staff. Lap pool could do with a good scrub on the tiles and also the changing facilities.
Fantastic experience: Classes are great. The staff are caring and supportive of their students. Both of my kids have developed in their abilities and awareness of water safety. The only downside is that the play pool is a bit small and needs a few more amenities. By age 3 or 4, kids are too big for the slide, but I can't recommend lessons there highly enough.
Negative experience: Cafeteria staff is terrible ! I have enrolled my daughter for swimming class over 2 yrs and I always have been satisfied with extreme friendly staff members at knox Leisure centre . However, today (Sunday)at 12 o clock in the noon , I was very upset because cafeteria staff member asked me to go and pay for my daughters icecream at the reception. I have carried my swimming bag which was extremely heavy and stood there and waited for like 5 minutes, then I had to go back to reception and waited for another 5 minutes although cafeteria was completely free but she could not bother to scan one icecream. I have bought her icecream every single Sunday after class , and staff were always happy to let me pay my icecream at cafeteria , but today when she asked me to pay at the reception after waiting , it was just so upsetting. You should have sign that icecream supposed to be paid at the counter , or cafeteria should accept payment since all chairs and tables are around the cafeteria.
Negative experience: Swim lessons here are a total waste of money! Never got the same teacher, class structure is repetitive and assessment for level progression is none existent, with 0 feedback. Now that they are closing the crèche I will move my own membership elsewhere as that was the only thing going for the facility. Broken down facilities in general, with limited classes and even more limited instructors. Also - beware if you do sign up for something here you can never EVER cancel - they just ignore the requests …
Negative experience: Pathetic life guard policing oversized three year olds . This is terrible for these small children . Maybe remove the slide or relax the rules.
Positive experience: The big swimming pool is so cold. Is that possible to heat swimming pool up warmer?
Positive experience: Not bad, just a little bit dated. If this facility can be revamped again, i would suggest a larger children play pool with more water feature variables
Negative experience: My son was in a swim class, and we decided to cancel. I got a confirmation with the final day of service, so we stopped attending. Despite this, I was still charged for an extra 30 days we didn't use. Not fair, not reasonable. Be aware before signing up. I'm starting to look for help in the matter and will go to consumer affairs for advice. Any kind advice is welcome.
Negative experience: Extremely unprofessional and money greedy. Destroyed my son’s confidence in water and on top of it charged the three lessons. Good part , on site team is fully aware of the unprofessionalism of swimming instructors but will not admit to their mistake. Can keep whatever $70/- you have earned … I can take it as a lesson fee . Never admit your children for swim lessons with them , but if your kids are already running for olympics … then go ahead !!!!
Fantastic experience: Great fun with the grandkids
Negative experience: Used to be great. Fantastic community feel, all age groups, all abilities. A centre of community. Then they axed the childcare. Showed us how they view parents of young children. No place here for families anymore, no community, just corporate decisions to make as money as possible. No idea why the council allowed this, as they're supposed to be connected. The community will die now. All of us siloed into our respective age groups.
Negative experience: Knox Leisureworks is getting rid of the gym creche with no warning, no consultation and no effort to keep it open. Disappointed by the council for approving this decision and angry Belgravia Leisure for making it. "connecting community to leisure" is their slogan. Well, they have destroyed the creche community and lots of parents ability to use the gym. Unbelievable! Sadly, it looks like it has come down to $$$.
Negative experience: I've been a member at Knox for 2 years and enough is enough, The facility used to be family friendly and a good place to visit, However the facility operator has let it become a rundown mess. They refuse to fix an array of broken and dangerous equipment, and are intent on removing services for families such as the creche. The spa is broken more than it's operational, there are frequent dangerous gas leaks (to which they don't close the facility or if they do it's way too late), Oh but they'll happily increase the price of memberships without a second though. Do you like out of order gym equipment? frayed un-lubricated cable machines and disease ridden broken padding? Then this gyms for you. Want to go for that last rep on the bench press? Hope you like a crushed windpipe because who needs safeties! I've personally seen many people drop weights on themselves, it's been reported to management many times and yet nothing gets done. It's not hard to find a better gym, go elsewhere.
Negative experience: Loved coming to this place for many years, but dropping down to 1 star after their decision to permanently shut the gym crèche. I will no longer be able to attend with them removing this. It is extremely upsetting. My kids both love the centre and this will be a huge adjustment for my family. Their priority now is just on milking the oldies for all their money apparently. They definitely don’t care about building actual community.
Negative experience: Had the most aweful experience with the lifeguards here. I would suggest some costumer service training for them as they are very unprofessional and rude. There is a strict rule around using the frog slide and according to what they describe, I assume only babies who have hardly started to walk are allowed to use it! I have been going there with my 3 year old daughter and she absolutely adores the place. Especially the frog slide. I have witnessed kids taller and older than mine using the slide and had absolutely no issues. Then today the blonde male lifeguard tells my daughter can not use it and I got really frustrated. Went to the reception they said the same thing. He then asked for my name. I said what do you need my name for?! He said look, you are being very hostile and I can’t give you any service. I was even more annoyed with him and said that I don’t think I have crossed any line and I just have refused to share my name. Then he showed the so called sign that my daughter was hardly taller than and said with a nasty smile : Well! Looks like she can’t use this slide. Looking at the similar reviews I can tell that this issue has been going on for a while and not been addressed which is highly affecting on the costumer experience. I will no longer be going there anymore. The other friendly suggestion is to move the frog slide to a deeper water area so a wider range of age kids could use it. Hope that helps make some changes. But I will no longer go to suck strick place with unprofessional people.
Fantastic experience: I never liked going to the Gym. After many years I committed myself to do regular exercise at the gym and pool this year. PT/ Frank helped me to set the program for my gym exercise and he was brilliant. I highly recommend Frank to guide you through your weight loss journey or health improvement. He is such a life saver It's completely different when you work out alone. Listen to the expert Frank and let him guide you through
Fantastic experience: Great pool. Fun water playground for kids.
Fantastic experience: We had an account problem which was resolved within 24hours of raising it - could have been unpleasant somewhere else - but the staff at Knox owned the error and fixed it immediately without any further hassle. Thankyou Leonie : )
Fantastic experience: We have recently started swimming lessons after some time off from another school. We have been incredibly lucky to have Natalie of a Saturday morning. She is so very attentive, patient and most importantly, fun! Highly recommend
Negative experience: Came here a few months ago and will never come back blonde male lifeguard told me my daughter was too tall to go down the frog slide she is 2 and he was very rude and condescending. I went and measured my daughter next to the sign and she was much shorter so I spoke with a female lifeguard and she said it was fine that my daughter used the slide. I’m only leaving a review as I was considering trying this place again but after reading similar reviews I won’t be. Obviously he is on a power trip and is making the experience for patrons unenjoyable.
Positive experience: Very good. Kids enjoy it. Pools are big and generally warm.
Negative experience: Lovely customer service, unfortunately they don't support the use of professional monofins and mermaid tails for training purposes in a safe environment.
Negative experience: same as other 1 star reviewers,unpleasant/strict, some times rude staff/safe guard, making this place the last place to have fun swiming with kids. I only came here when other placea are not available.
Negative experience: This place is sooooo strict and have the rudest “lifeguards” known to man. If you intend on going here, don’t even breathe or you will be told off. And definitely dont even check your phone because you will be kicked out for apparently taking photos. I took my 3 young kids for the first time today, and as I stood on the right side of the small water slide, an arrogant & extremely rude so called “lifeguard” came up and addressed my kids in such a blunt manner - “all of you get off the slide now, you are all too big" to which i replied "sorry is there a reason they arent allowed on the slide?" and his response "theres a sign right there, cant you read?!" WOW. No i did not see the sign, i was watching my kids. There were no other kids around anyway. He continued to walk around me sucking on his zooper dooper like a child with a huge smug look on his face trying to intimidate me. Good luck If you enjoy being told off by moody teenagers then this is the place for you! Management really need to address their staff on customer service, social etiquette & plain manners. Absolutely disgusting attitudes.
Negative experience: Run down, dirty, unpleasant staff and some legally questionable tactics if you try to leave. Steer clear, there's plenty of much nicer places to go in the area.
Fantastic experience: Swimming Lessons with Patsy. She is extremely kind and caring whilst in the pool with the kids. She has always shown and shared great knowledge to the kids when teaching lessons. She is always very friendly to all. She shows great dedication to making sure the kids are learning and having fun. Extremely happy to have her teach my kids.
Negative experience: Thank you to venue manager Danny for being super helpful to sort out my issue, but still this needs to be reported.. Got an email with the black friday promo. 4 weeks free no joining fee. The first day a joining fee and first week fee was taken from my account. I tried calling and emailing multiple times where receptionists and accounts said they would sort it. They sorted it but giving me an extra two weeks on my membership "free" (not free as I had already paid). After two weeks of barely hearing anything despite me clearly saying I wanted my money back, I called today requesting to speak to supervisor. I got Francoise. Wow never encountered such ridiculousness. Told me I should be more mindful where I put my debit card details if I didn't want my money to be taken, admitted it was a glitch in their system taking my money but they could not refund it I would just get extra weeks on my membership. I stated I cancelled the first day I didn't want a membership. He said that was my problem and why was I only joining a gym for 4 weeks. Pure awful human being. Then hung up on me when I asked for his name. Danny was amazing and sorted the issue immediately though when I called back. Still, so upset I will never sign up here again. Avoid unless you enjoy victim blaming and your money being stolen.
Negative experience: I recently discovered this facility to have alarmingly lax public health procedure, as in virtually none. I discovered a poo in the pool, while doing laps on a public holiday, with many people in the pool, I saw it at the bottom of the pool touched it with my foot, my suspicions were correct, It was indeed poo. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not blaming the facility for something revolting done by one of its patrons, but when I immediately got the attention of a life guard nearby and notified them, they merely discussed it with a second pool worker, got a net with a long pole and pulled it out of the pool. I got out promptly but I was watching the response as I dried myself and they didn’t even get those closest to the poo to move away from the area, they allowed people to continue lapping over the top of it, before and while they pulled it out and no action was taken to evacuate or disinfect the pool. Lots of people were left completely unaware, against health regulations. After I dried myself and left, I sat outside the entrance to the facility in my car to see if people would start coming out due to pool closure. No-one did. I re-entered the building to report that this inaction was against safety regulations and the girl at the counter, seemed to know nothing about it and when informed seemed unconcerned and to be poorly faking concern for my complaint and wanting to pass on a ‘problem’ patron to someone else to deal with, suggesting I talk to the lifeguards about it. So, I got a little more indignant about it and tried to prompt her to actually take some action, I told her I had already spoken to the lifeguards and they had done nothing but remove the poo, she was more responsive, but only because she was now defensive, not liking that I was getting a little irritated with the lack of concern or care. She told me I shouldn’t be getting angry with her about it. To which I said I was not getting angry, I was frustrated and worried about it. I then told her to do something about the situation and evacuate the pool as per health regulations or I would be calling the health department, to which she responded with a resentful “alright!” I then waited a few more minutes in my car to see if any patrons came out, they didn’t, so if something was done, it would seem it was with no immediacy. There was some other hygiene complaints I would have about the state of the showers, a bit grubby and lots of hair on the ground consistently, but mostly I am alarmed by the nonchalance of the staff about something so clearly a health risk, especially in these times of COVID. It just seemed like they were so blasé and more concerned about loosing revenue from a busy public holiday, than protecting their clientele. I felt really sick about it. I really hope no-one gets ill from it.
Negative experience: I am writing this review with a heavy heart and sheer disappointment. As a parent, especially of a child with special needs, I place my trust in a facility not only to nurture my children's skills but also to provide them with the care and attention they deserve. Unfortunately, my experience with this swimming centre has been far from satisfactory. Initially, I was drawn in by a charming receptionist who assured me of a seamless experience. Yet, when the time came to cancel our contract, I was blindsided by a hidden 30-day cancellation policy accompanied by an additional, undisclosed fee. This was a stark contrast to the assurances I received upon enrollment, where I was promised an immediate effect on cancellation without extra charges. But the real issue extends beyond the contractual grievances. My son, who requires additional support, was consistently neglected. His instructor, Taylor, seemed more interested in engaging in idle gossip with colleagues than in teaching her students. Session after session, this lack of professional focus persisted, leaving the children, including my own, essentially unsupervised and untaught. It reached a point where I had to send their father to observe, and without a single prompt from me, he mirrored my concerns. "Why does the swim teacher care more about gossip instead of teaching?" he questioned. This is not what we signed up for. We expect and pay for professional, attentive instruction, not for our children to be bystanders to staff chatter. With such a disregard for student engagement and presence, I had no choice but to pull my children from the program. It's disheartening to see a place that has the potential to offer so much joy and skill to children fall so drastically short. To the management, consider this a wake-up call to address the serious shortcomings within your staff and misleading practices. The most alarming problems, however, were not administrative but rather directly concerned the safety and well-being of the children. The facility's hygiene standards were shockingly low, with the girls' toilets consistently dirty and littered with sand from inexplicable sources. On top of this, the children's swimming pool was occasionally found to have sharp objects within it, a serious hazard that was dismissed with no urgency. To the management: This center not only failed to meet the basic standards of safety and cleanliness but also utterly neglected the fundamental principles of professional conduct. To potential customers, consider this my candid advice to look elsewhere for your children's swimming lessons. Rating: 1 star (only because zero stars is not an option
Fantastic experience: Good clean gym well maintained and good equipment
Negative experience: Horrible inexperienced swim teachers. Do not send kids there. The teachers have no idea.
Negative experience: I do not recommend anyone who cannot take a cold shower to this swimming pool very disappointed the swimming pool shower is so cold in winter.
Fantastic experience: The swim teachers are fantastic! My kids love coming swimming lessons and are making great progress.
Positive experience: A little small, but has enough for the smaller kids and a swim, and it also has an ok gym. Very friendly door staff and lifeguards.
Positive experience: Love the warm water pool, but the showers could use updating and it can be slow to enter the pool as it can take a while to get served
Fantastic experience: The staff were great with my children and provided the utmost care, Serita strived to be as helpful as possible and really helped my son finn feel comfortable.
Fantastic experience: Helpful staff. Clean facilities. Great classes and the shower at the end was hot( up stairs) the one in rhe swimming pool is cold all the time.
Negative experience: do not send your kid to learn swimming in here, 1 teacher to almost 5 to 6 kids and its really hard to cancel the contract, you need to use the APP to book class however, in the app show you can cancel the class but its actually not working, and you need to go to website to cancel, I go on the website following the process and it end up not cancel I have been trying to cancel my contract 2 month before and still not cancel
Fantastic experience: I really love this place. Great facilities, attentive staff, and Sour Straps at the cafe
Positive experience: Was fun but took ages to get through the turnstiles and I felt it could definitely do with an update. All changing cubicles were occupied and it seemed like they were trying to do too much with too little.
Positive experience: I hope the Knox council knew what they were doing, allowing our local leisure centre to be run by a "For Profit" business. Such a shame the community based NFP YMCA seems to have lost the plot (and the business) with running leisure centres. I'm not sure if the annual price increases are getting steeper or not? But the joining fee is new. Went here for 10 years prior to covid. But when I look at the cost of membership now, it's become a luxury I just can't justify any more.
Negative experience: Very very sad. Was sitting at the water with my daughter while my husband and other daughter where swimming I was putting YouTube on and I got accused by the lifeguard and a management team that I was taking photos. This was so embarrassing and disrespectful. No one asked what I was doing. They just presumed while I had my phone in front of my face. They picked on me all the other parents around had their phones up taking photos yet. I was getting a video app on my phone for my daughter and I get accused and kicked out of the swimming center. So Disrespectful.. no one asked me if I had taken photos they just accuse me came up and accuse me. This is a very disrespectful for this organization.
Negative experience: Unfortunately they can't get pool temps right. My 6yo granddaughter in the frog pool, shivering and teeth chattering even when she was active, thought I'd try it,waded in knee deep and my voice went up three octaves. Saw a staff check temp but doubt it makes a difference when it's all run with juniors, which is ok but need some mgmt oversight. Had a black coffee and it was as weak as yesterday's dishwater. All staff, young and not so young very good
Negative experience: We went there after two years it changed alot we had very bad experiences they didn't allow us taking photos or answering the phone while My kids old enough and on the small pool never go back again not recommending I was really excited to took photos of my one year baby first time on the pool they let's me to delete the photos. They even left my girls to take her earring off
Positive experience: We went there for a few years for the kids swimming classes and my husband also liked the lap pool there. We found it good for the very early years of swimming but the progress of what they learnt felt much slower as they got older (5+). They have a handful of really good teachers and the rest just seemed to be trained and following the motions rather seeing each student in their own right and seeing how they can be developed. I feel it's an aquatic centre first and the kids swim school on the side which is ok but we wanted to see more progress. We have since moved to a dedicated swim school and we have seen so much progress in the short time they've been there. The public pool area after their lessons was great though.
Negative experience: Can't even buy a bottle of water. Waited in line for about 10 min, only one guy working at the front, trying to let everyone through, and singing someone up for a membership, wouldn't even acknowledge I was standing there. Placed water back and left.
Positive experience: Personally I've had no issues here. I agree the showers need updating. Pools and spa are great.
Negative experience: Need to get your kids enrolment systems sorted, left hand doesn't talk to right! turn up after being confirmed for lesson to be told does not appear in class list at all.. given a casual swim..but doesn't leave a good impression at all
Negative experience: Never ever sign up with them. They charge your account for no apparent reason. Never don’t sign up in this gym For no reason they just taking money from your account 4 times a day I am absolutely unhappy and will never back again.
Negative experience: I turned up for my regular 8am aquacise and realised I had forgotten my phone so couldnt prove my triple vax status, sadly I could not go in. I will not go back, absurd call by the manager, one does not become 'unvaxed' since the last visit and the other participants arriving all identified me as a regular. My years of membership meant nothing, rubbish treatment of a loyal customer. There are many ways to keep fit - I wont be back
Negative experience: Do not waste your money there. Very busy swimming pool and a gym without primary equipment. They offered me two weeks free and ask me to set up direct debit but money has been taken out from my account in first day . They are liar. Do not trust them as they promiser me to refund it but it never happened . BIG LIARS
Negative experience: Never ever sign up with them. They charge your account for no apparent reason. I signed up and cancelled in under 30 minutes! yes! They charged me 5 x $22.75 .... I signed up online, cancelled in person, and filled out the cancellation form; I also went there three times and called five times, but no one was responsible, and my credit card was charged again! Finally, I changed the number on my credit card and filed a dispute... In addition, a case was opened with the Ombudsman.
Negative experience: Have been going here for a number of years and it was a decent facility, but more often than not this year the warm water pool has been cold.Gave it a chance again today and W.W. Pool cold again even spa top jets had cold water coming through. Talked to a manager about these issues and was told I must have sensitive skin. All clients we have been talking to there this year have had the same complaints, we all must have 'sensitive skin'. Avoid this place.
Negative experience: Avoid this place if you can. I live very close to this place and would prefer to go there for my 6 years old Daughter's swimming classes but we have had very bad experience. Racist staff, specially those ladies who are responsible on the floor who manages swimming classes. Very rude. They fill swimming classes with 7 kids in the class. On the day of the class they will reshuffle kids with another teacher if they have some spots left. Everytime when this happens kids loose 5-10 mins while they reshuffle kids. Not only that but kids may have different teacher every class. When we asked the lady on the floor who manages the swimming classes, her response was like "I don't care, this is how it is?". Very rude and irresponsible.
Negative experience: I only gave that 2 stars for the facility. Swimming pools most of time are good, although occasionally used band-aids and tampons can be seen on the pool bottom. Majority of front desk staffs are friendly but not so very helpful. I sometimes need to call multiple times just for a single request. A female staff (or manager) there has zero customer service sense, lack of listening skill, rude, stubborn and often raise her voice to any of asked questions. She often gives an attitude that customers are always the ones being unreasonable and wrongful. BUT their guest experience manager James Worboyes has been doing a great job!
Negative experience: I love being lectured by a teenager about the level of supervision my children require at a pool. I would not take offence to this if I was wasn’t treated like an an incompetent parent. The treatment received twice in as many weeks at this venue is not acceptable. Find some manners or find a job more suitable for your personality. If you can’t be nice don’t speak at all. Maybe dealing with the public isn’t for you.
Negative experience: I was a gym member for around 6 months. Of those 6 months, only one team member engaged me in any conversation. I'd barely got a hello from anyone else. I got the impression of a 'us and them' culture at Know Leisure Works. What did it for me was trying to gain 24/7 access one cold June Sunday morning without success. My membership card did not work with the electronic keyless security. I waited at the main entrance for about 1 hour. I later found that I needed to undertake a safety induction to gain the 24/7 access privilege. At no point during my 6-month membership was I given this information verbally or written. Once the centre had opened, on approaching the attendant regarding the induction, they noted that they had been watching me in the security camera system while I tried to gain access. It would have been super polite to have either been let in or at least been told the reason why I couldn't gain entry and referred to the induction programme. I immediately cancelled my membership. On cancellation, the team member was more worried about making sure I was aware of the 30-day cancellation notice policy than my reason for cancelling. There are a lot of other gyms out there that would like my money and can appreciate their members better.
Positive experience: It's a shame that the attitude of some of the staff ruin the rating for the entire facility. Lessons and queries about it have been great yet like today, I was told I was not to take photos of my kids, with noone else in the picture. Although I understand where she was coming from, when I tried to discuss where was appropriate or if she wanted to see that my pictures had noone else in it she rolled her eyes at me and was extremely rude not listening to anything I said. I am fine with the rules being rules yet don't be rude when you are supposed to be working with the customers. In the last 10 years of coming I have never felt so disrespected.
Fantastic experience: My grandchildren live in the area of Coburg and Brunswick so I often go to those pools. But they a nothing compared to Knox Leisureworks! You and the council have put a lot into the design and management of the pools and the amenities. Well done and thank you for giving me the opportunity to go swimming at almost any hour.
Fantastic experience: Haha Aaron, I train with Aaron who is fantastic.....He places an emphasis on correct posture and form which means I have more confidence training alone on my non PT days. Also spin classes are fantastic at Boronia.
Fantastic experience: I love thay place super awesome
Negative experience: Maybe tell staff to listen when questions are asked over the phone. Asked about the spa being open and was told it was. Only to find out after a 45 min drive that it was NOT opened.. very disappointed in that..
Negative experience: Head group fitness instructor tried to stop me from straightening out scholiosis. Thats how much shes in the job only for greedy money not health. For your information it's almost fully healed. I'm planning to write a book about how I did it to help many others suffering.
Negative experience: Don't join up for a membership because if you get injured and can't physically keep going then they will still charge you for a month if you cancel. The gym part is overpriced and costs more than other places that have much larger facilities.
Negative experience: Was pretty good but service level going down hill since ownership changed over year ago. Equipments are aging and need upgrade.. Very hard to cancel swimming membership which requested from 18/11/2020 and still charging on my credit card in Jan2021.
Negative experience: Attended with my partner, our two year old and baby. We paid entry and got changed and ready for the kids pool, only to be told it had reached capacity and we had to go to the warm water pool which people use for therapy; no jumping and splashing etc. I understand the need for restrictions, but surely this is something that could have been communicated with the front desk staff so we could of had the option to try another facility instead of being charged entry and then disturbing the peace of the warm water patrons. My partner has chronic back issues and he found it very difficult to carry our 17kg child because the water was too deep for him to stand on his own.
Negative experience: I regret signing up for a membership with them. Direct debits haven't been done correctly and extra payments have been taken, then it takes a week to get the money refunded - not good enough. They also falsely advertised 24/7 gym access but didn't have it up until after I had already decided to cancel my membership.
Fantastic experience: Good customer service and experience so far!
Positive experience: Looking forward to coming back when lock down is over; the kids love it
Fantastic experience: Great gym, love the classes , people very friendly, made lots of great friends
Thank you Pat! Really pleasing to hear that you are enjoying the group fitness classes and gym. There is a fantastic community feel at the centre and we are glad that you are part of it! We hope you have a great Christmas and New Year!
Fantastic experience: I'm yet to try out any of the pools or spa but had a go at the gym and loved it. Good range of equipment from free-weights and bands to exercise machines.
Fantastic experience: I use the spa the therapy pool and the gym and have never had a issue with any of the facilities or staff, the new upgraded showers and change rooms are lovely! So far no bad news to report. My go to place
Negative experience: Spensive
Positive experience: Good plavce
Positive experience: Lovely place nice and clean good reasonable price
Fantastic experience: Grandma goes there to work out, shes 80 what a champ
Fantastic experience: Great gym! Loads of classes!
Positive experience: Not too bad but can be better. Needs to be kept cleaner and repairs done in a swifter manner.
Positive experience: The hydro pool they had.... they dont tell you the water temp anymore and it was actually pretty cool not anywhere near the 30c° mark
Positive experience: Excellent facilities, great staff that are very good at what they do, becoming a bit pricey though.
Negative experience: just called up to cancel our sons swimming membership as we are moving house. Was told that we need to either go in with proof of moving or if we do it over the phone will be charged 4 weeks of fees. What a joke.
Positive experience: Always been great but a bit tired now. Needs updating of the waterslide and showers would be great like other centers have.
Positive experience: Only thing this place lacks is a decent kids play area, the one they have is small and they turn the water of early in the day, last time I took the little one it was 29 degree day and water was off more than 2 hours before closure in the kids pool so he got upset coz there was no shooting fountains. Kids area is in def need for a remake. Service here is great and they have good lifeguards and water safety policy.
Positive experience: Great pool and Front desk staff. Cafe is prefect Cold showers- unpleasant! The gym is a bit pedestrian, don't deadlift more than 40kg.. or you will be told off by the Trainers! If you actually get a sweat up here, the staff look at you strangely.
Positive experience: I completed my lifeguard training at this venue. They have a variety of pools to choose from if you are coming here with family or friends to have a casual, fun experience in the water. The floor is relatively well kept, however the lifeguards there when I was completing the course seemed slightly careless and distracted. Since they have a wide selection of pools to choose from and the atmosphere is nice and the venue is well kept. I’d recommend coming here.
Fantastic experience: Always a great time here, staff are welcoming and the conditions of the pool are always well looked after!
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff always happy and polite Great atmosphere Bright colours, modern equipment
Fantastic experience: I'm a member and I go there daily with full gym activity and clean friendly staff who are very helpful and you will always enjoy your time there as I do..!
Fantastic experience: Friendly service. Different size pools. For everyone of all ages to enjoy
Fantastic experience: Go there regularly can swim in the lap pool, relax/exercise in hydrotherapy pool which is warmer and sit back in the spa pool. Lap pool will be busy with school times.
Fantastic experience: Friendly atmosphere where people of all sizes and shapes and ages can come in and do there own thing. Great staff as well. Nice and supportive.
Fantastic experience: My Gym. Has just about everything for a gym goer. So many classes. People come from far away suburbs case they like the group classes here.
Fantastic experience: Great pool for the kids my 4 years old loved the frog slide at the children's pool. Always clean and Plenty of parking. Friendly life guards
