Our comment from FitFit Australia about GESAC:
GESAC, located in Melbourne, Australia, is a well-regarded sports and aquatic center, offering a wide range of facilities and activities for all ages. Visitors often praise its superb swimming pools, including a 50m outdoor pool and various indoor areas, making it a popular destination for families and fitness enthusiasts alike.
Many users highlight the friendly and helpful staff, which contributes to the welcoming atmosphere. The center features great amenities such as a water playground, slides, sauna, and spa facilities, alongside various fitness classes. The gym is well equipped and supports a vibrant community of gym-goers.
However, several reviews indicate areas needing improvement, including overcrowding during peak hours, particularly in the gym and pool areas, leading to dissatisfaction among some visitors. Additionally, hygiene standards have been a concern for multiple users, citing dirty facilities and inadequate cleanliness in some areas. Communication issues have also been reported, especially regarding swim lane availability and membership pricing.
Despite these concerns, many families and individuals continue to enjoy their time at GESAC, recommending it for its variety of activities and overall value.
GESAC: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Superb swimming pool & sports complex.
Fantastic experience: Very friendly and helpful staff, great facilities.
Negative experience: Swimming school is not recom. Very disappointed experience.
Negative experience: This trainer needs some character education and work safety training. Time: 6/9/2024 9:00-9:20am The first picture indicates where I was working out (yellow circle). This female personal trainer somehow decides to come in front of me (red circle) to train and recklessly uses the cable which ended up hitting me due to the momentum. I requested her to move to the other cable (blue circle) since it’s not safe to closely train in front of me but ignored my requests multiple times. Subsequently, she demanded that I should move. Not only I was working out in that specific area prior to her arrival, the number of actions/attitude she presented to me made me feel humiliated in front of all the other members. I’m amazed at how a person like her was able to get hired in the first place who lacks common sense, moral integrity, and professional training to be a trainer. Further, her as an employee is jeopardising the place’s reputation and other personal trainers. I believe she should’ve at least apologised for the injury I suffered resulted from her reckless training and known the distance to train in front me wasn’t adequate as it was too close. Alternatively, she would have kindly advised me that this is the only place that she could train for a specific exercise (which was not the case as there were alternative cables that were equivalent to what she used). Her attitude towards other members was appalling, and should be ashamed to act in such a way. This lady should apologise for her reckless and rude behaviour and undergo proper training to do her job properly. This will be forwarded to the management team as well.
Fantastic experience: Enjoying
Positive experience: Always enjoy our time at gesac
Negative experience: Forgot my shorts. Thought no problem I will be some cheap crappy pair so I can use the pool. The cheapest option which wasn't even in my size I think it was kids. Was 70$. Ranging to 100$. For a pair of shorts. Very convenient. Thankyou. And Argo.
Negative experience: Great amenities but unfortunately lately just way too crowded and undersized for the growing area, gym is filled with teenagers in packs and sauna + spa always packed can never get room.
Negative experience: Gym is disgusting. Out of at least 50-100 people I only saw 2-3 people with a sweat towel. Staff don’t enforce any form of hygiene. Saw multiple people covered in sweat, no towel on a bench get up move to the next one leaving sweat everywhere. Absolutely filthy. Mentioned it to staff. No one cared. They said they have cleaners that come once a day. All reputable gyms won’t allow you to train without a sweat towel and enforce wiping down of equipment after use. Don’t come here if you like a clean healthy place to train. You will get sick.
Fantastic experience: Love the pool here. I have closer public pools, but been coming here for a few years due to the kind staff and friendly environment My daughter has recently become bit enough to go on the big water slides and the blow-up obstacle course and is lovin it Would recommend for anyone to come
Fantastic experience: Sauna spa and steam room all felt clean.
Positive experience: The best gym this side of the city but is getting crowded-popular and they have put up their membership fees recently. Suggest visiting outside peak imes to enjoy its gym, pools (25 & 50m) and spa area.
Fantastic experience: Theres a lifeguard call Flynn the og I remember with my mate he tipped the inflatable over, now they can't do that any more but hes soo Chill and cool if your going to gesac you have to go see him he's was the frist Flynn there he makes your experience better than anything
Negative experience: The place is overcrowded yet no upgrades to any facilities. Parking is shocking and pools are always a chaos. Maintenance is horrendous with dirty change rooms, toilets and the pools are absolutely filthy
Positive experience: All together pretty good place after 2 years of constant requests to fixed cracked glass in wet sauna or fix 1/2 of the benches in the dry sauna & UV sauna. I would appreciate if they would change the cold water tap to a bigger stream cause to fill up a 1liter bottle (which EVERYONE GOT THAT SIZE BOTTLE) takes 40-50+ seconds so imagine you have 3-4 people behind you and to replace them would cost literally almost nothing as I presume they have a handyman on site. The showers are quite dirty each time I was there to the level that you can make 1/2 wig in one shower, probably better going in with gumboots for your health, should have to be cleaned every 30-45 minutes in pick hours. Outs pool and lawn area is quite nice and clean summer & winter so very nice to hang out in summer (when not too many people of course :) CAR PARK (MORNING TIME) SOOOO dirty that you would think you after a soccer match in 3rd world country :( - tissue, plastic cups & plenty more rubbish which is a shame and people should be ashamed!!! I know that GSAC have people cleaning (‘not sure how often but every once in a while I see it’s been Cleaned (definitely not at 7-8-9am)!
Fantastic experience: Public pools are not really my bag. But the 50m outdoor pool here is great. Plus the kids used to love the inside and slides etc when they were younger.
Fantastic experience: Elise the young girl abled in gym did an excellent job showing me how to use equipment and checked on me often as I was new. I feel more comfortable going to gym now. Also the bathrooms in gym are very fancy. Love it.
Positive experience: Great facilities but quite crowded throughout the day
Fantastic experience: Cooper Stanley is a hard working lifeguard and makes this pool great.
Fantastic experience: Josie is a great teacher ! She puts lot of efforts to improve one’s swing skills
Negative experience: The gym feels like a teenage school yard at lunch-time. You are lucky if the kids get off the equipment to let you use anything. This is meant to be a gym for everyone and it has become a place people drop off their teens for babysitting.
Negative experience: Today we went to GESAC with my family as my daughters wanted to have some fun in the water. We wanted to buy couple of casual tickets for them only. The lady at the reception was very rude and we just returned back home because of the way she was talking to us. She said we have to buy an adult ticket also as one of the child age is less than 5. We visited GESAC last year as well and they were one year younger and we didn’t had to buy any adult ticket.
Positive experience: My 5 year old and I really enjoyed GESAC these school holidays we even went twice! Most of the staff were so lovely and really engaging and lovely with the kids on the inflatable. Great facilities we will be back!!
Fantastic experience: I love this gym and absolutely love Monday night Body Attack ! It is the highlight of my week. Emerson delivers a cracking class filled with the best music to get you jumping and moving and releasing the endorphins. Emerson also caters for all abilities . Give it a go, you won't regret it.
Negative experience: Lifeguards constantly patrolling the sauna room.... I used to get in on a swim pass. Now it seems to be standard practice to pay separately. $14 for an hour in the sauna, not a fan. Especially disappointed because I have been coming for a while and never had to buy the sauna wristband before. But the lifeguard his name was Taka, came at me with some major quivering lip attitude, was very disturbing to watch.
Negative experience: Why is there no discount for a Seniors' Card holder? Every other pool does!
Positive experience: Heavier dumbbells would be helpful More machines would also be helpful. Some staff are mean and hard to deal with though some staff like Itay make it all better, gym is clean and fun
Fantastic experience: Great health facilities, gym, group fitness, water playground, a 25 inside and a 50 meter heated outdoor pool, plus sauna, spa pool and jacuzzi. Fantastic. Gym area has a good vibe. Group fitness classes have excellent instructors and motivating environment. Swim classes for kids and adults, Pickleball, basketball, netball... You have it all for a very fair price.
Negative experience: If you go to the hot spa Be assured to be harassed every ten minutes to show your wristbands Every few minutes a new life guard comes in and seems to go on their little ego trip to tell everyone to hold your hands up to display your wrist band ( some customers being four times their age ) I mean after the 2or 3 time you start feeling like you are back in prep school Today I was in the hot spa for 80 minutes having been asked 7 times to show my wrist Seriously there must be a better system than that like a hand over between change over or a designated spa life guard ……. Instead they seem to wander all aimlessly all Over the complex just to appear in the spa for 2-3 minutes ( mainly to bother paying customers again to display their …… you guessed it right …..) what about a hand over or a scanner etc etc Really puts you off going there
Negative experience: The management surrounding the pool is absolutely awful. Closing the outside pool constantly with historically dire communication to members. Excluding full fee paying members to the principal pool almost daily has become a joke. You make time, make your way down here to find out once again its closed. The gym on the otherhand is well run. Pool management is a joke.
Negative experience: The cleanliness at Glen Eira Aquatic Centre was disappointing; the water in the indoor pool was unclear and there were also presence of mold in the tile grout. Moreover, the policy allowing entry to the pool area with outdoor shoes is unsanitary. Many of the visitors also skipped showering before entering the pools. Overall, our visit left us feeling concerned about hygiene standards.
Fantastic experience: Went there to play social pickleball had a great time would recommend to anyone well organised and all the people where friendly and welcoming.
Negative experience: Pretty poor that the kids paddle pool- pirate ship, slides are not working/ broken. However no advise pre payment and going in, poor form. Numerous facilities broken, showers, door handles. Seems less care nowadays.
Fantastic experience: Swimming classes for kids on Saturdays are great. The centre seems to be run almost exclusively by young adults, and I must say, they do an excellent job! Same goes for all the staff. Love the outdoor pool on a hot day.
Negative experience: I would rate GSAC much higher if it wasn't so expensive and if it had better lane management for slow swimmers. The outdoor 50m lap pool is great when quiet; it is a very convenient pool if you live in Glen Eira and the staff are generally very helpful. But it is expensive. It was rated the most expensive pool in Melbourne by The Age - 22/2/24. Adult general admission: $11.40 for general admission; 10 adult swims: $102.60. By comparison, another council run (Stonnington) pool which offers 50m outdoor lanes all year round - Harold Holt swim centre - is much cheaper. General adult admission: $8.50; 10 adult swims: $76.50. The GSAC prices may be justified if you want the extra facilities (e.g. multiple waterslides, and at an added cost: spa and sauna), but is quite expensive if you only want to use the outdoor 50m laps pool. The other issue is the lanes management at the 50m outdoor pool. Both slow lap lanes are near AquaPlay lanes which is neither a safe nor an enjoyable experience for slower swimmers (doing back strokes or breast strokes). The slow lap lanes are also the first ones to be removed when there are swimming classes. In both cases this leaves slow lap swimmers with no other alternative than swimming in moderate lap lanes (which frustrates faster swimmers). Many attempts to provide feedback to GSAC and get this addressed have proven unsuccessful. The response is that by safety regulations the slow lanes have to be closer to the edge of the pool, but there will be better management of AquaPlay swimmers' behaviours. This is near impossible. Families want to have fun, which is fair enough, splashing, jumping, throwing balls, lying half across the slow swimmers' lanes. One suggestion was to have 2 AquaPlay lanes one side of the pool and 2 slow lap lanes on the other side of the pool. But no can do.
Fantastic experience: What is not to love here? GESAC has it all. - 4 indoor pool areas, splash play area, water features & fountains + 2 epic water slides - Inflatable course (when we visited during school hols) - Outdoor pool with sun beds, shade and grass area for picnics - Cafe with quick service - Full retail store - Helpful & friendly staff + so much more including a basketball stadium The only improvement I could mention would be the changerooms especially for families wanting to use together. The space is quite tight, but still workable.
Fantastic experience: Help, the kds staff drown me here every year, I need air pls he
Positive experience: Overall good experience. Went to use sauna and spa facility. Clean enough and not over crowded
Positive experience: Took my 2 grandsons today. Oldest one loved the children's play area, pirate ship complete with lots of water cannons, slides and water fountains. Lots of fun. Has cafe with snacks, coffee and ice creams. Only thing l could fault was the tables were not cleared and very messy. GESAC also has swimming lessons for children, basketball courts and Pilates. Has a large water slide which is very popular. Also large outdoor pool, and much more. Definately worth going too They do swimming lessons , my 4 year old grandson loves his lessons.
Fantastic experience: This place is great. Me and my family went down 2 big waterslides. It was fun. Stuff is very friendly, so many ice creams to choose. I am definitely going back there.I would very highly recommend this fun place.
Negative experience: I swim 2-4 times a week. As someone who works 9-5, they clearly prioritise swim schools over regular casual prices. They kick people out of their lanes mid swim. I asked why after they shut down the whole indoor 25m pool for swim classes, and then 5 out of the 8 lanes in the outdoor and then close a sixth. The lifeguard said "it's for the children, they take first priority, we never know how many will show up." And for a council run pool, the prices are outrageous, clearly they need to pay the 5 people who do nothing behind the front desk. I also went swimming today, and they took down the flags at the end of the pool. But due to ineptitude, the flags went into the water, and then they continued to pull the flags out against me. They didn't stop until I had to move the flags myself and untangle myself. No one apologised, no one asked me if I was ok, no cared. I asked them about it after my swim. And they said nothing, not one response. The "learn to swim" coach just looked at me as if I was just an obstacle for him and not someone who had paid their fee their to swim. There are children swimming in there, and if those lifeguards don't care if an adult is trapped. Imagine a child trapped (who isn't part of a swim lesson) I wish all parents there good luck, because you know those life guards don't care about anyone but the swim class participants. I suggest going to Kingston Wave Pool or Harold Holt Pool. At least they have better lifeguards who look after EVERYONE and care about people who pay for casual swims.
Negative experience: I understand that cost increased. But asking $8 for a 3yo toddler that just barely swim in only 1 small bassin is disgusting.
Fantastic experience: We love it here. At this point in time we only use the basketball courts. The only issue is parking, but that is completely understandable.
Fantastic experience: I went for my swim today A few bods floating around, but not overcrowded ....there is room for all to enjoy. Plenty of "floaties" to share . Life guards do a much appreciated job I love it there!
Positive experience: Beautiful Park. Only the problem toilets are in very bad shape.
Negative experience: It’s well equipped, but you will struggle to book the most popular classes. Still not sure how 25 spots can be booked on reformer 3 seconds after opening...If the parking was half decent, might have just done the gym, but it’s woeful. Gave a star to the staff, they were pretty helpful for the short time I was there...and avoid signing up to the cheaper lock in contract.
Negative experience: Today was my first day at clube, I signed the Gold plan to access all facilities. I was expecting someone to show me the facilities. They just gave me my key access and wished Goodluck. I didn’t know where to go, I had problem to use the lockers coz nobody showed me how to set up the login. I waste about 30 minutes of my time trying to understand how everything works there. I didn’t have any support. Also the facilities are extremely dirty and smell terrible, the spa pool is cold. I already regret.
Positive experience: I've enjoyed attending GESAC in the past, but recently they have increased the fee for entry to 20$ for two concession card holders. Also the spa facility is always crowded. We went for an hour. Swam in the hydrotherapy pool. When we wanted to use the spa there was very little space . Not even elbow space. When you charge extra for entry to the spa, you need to be monitoring how long people stay in there. Simply set a timer to check how long each person has stayed in the spa for. It's dangerous to be in the spa for longer than 15 minutes due to dehydration however we have noticed several times that some people stay for much longer than they should. This means that both myself and my Mum had to wait to access the spa and once we were in it , we had to sit right next to other people which was not very relaxing and I don't see why we should miss out just because of selfish people. We have been attending for years and this has always been a problem . I have a chronic back condition and my doctor has recommended that I swim, but if I can't get space in the spa it means I don't get the same level of therapeutic benefit. I can't believe after all the time and money spent on the facility , that there is not a better way of allowing every person to get a go and a decent experience. Also, while I know this is not GESAC's responsiblity to control other peoples behaviour, I have noticed that quite a lot of young male patrons are disrespectful and stare straight at most females that get in the spa. I'm a man but I am very offended by it too. My Mum doesn't deserve to be looked at like a piece of meat. Otherwise I think a spa facility soley for women needs to be made. It is not fair that my Mum and other females have to be ogled just for existing. Apologies for the long review but we feel that it is not a safe place for us to swim anymore. I do not appreciate being so close to others, because I don't want to catch a cold or anything . Why should I be at risk of catching an illness just so I can go for a swim? Regards
Negative experience: Shocking service for cleaning tables in cafe area, all with left food, crums and cafe staff just didn't care that it's their job and business to provide a clean place/tables for customers to seat and have some food which they buy from them not just waiting for ages mythic cleaner to do that cleaning job for them.... Really it's absolutely disgrace!!! Ps. Mythic cleaner came, just did some floor clean and left all those food leftover on a tables unattended. Yes had a huge trolley for his cleaning tools but it looks like he doesn't have any idea who's jo b is it to clean tables and provide good customer service.... Ps. So much waiting for a new swimming pool to open up in Carnegie... Ps. Roof is leaking, suddenly with rain outside we got shower inside...
Fantastic experience: Great pool, just needs more maintenance. Very dirty. The classes are very engaging and teach you a lot.
Negative experience: I was billed a total of $100, which included a $50 administration fee for signing up online. As a student who acquired this gym membership, I'm puzzled as to why I'm being charged $50 for an online signup 'administration fee.' The sole reason I had to sign up through the website is because I couldn't reach anyone over the phone all day. Interestingly, my partner signed up at the reception without incurring this seemingly excessive fee. Its absurd that I'm being penalised for signing up online because no one answers the phones all day. I'd like a refund.
Fantastic experience: 不错的游泳馆!项目很多。价钱合适。
Fantastic experience: This is a great place to relax and be reasonably priced.
Positive experience: Car parking is hard to get.. food is overpriced . Pools are clean and staff are nice.
Negative experience: L gym too expensive membership for meh equipment but pool is cool i guess
Fantastic experience: An amazing swimming pool and fitness centre. They have 2 big water slides, water playground, 2 pools indoor and outdoor as well as a volleyball and basketball court
Fantastic experience: One of the best place I experienced for Swimming, gym and other activities along with indoor basketball courts. Very good and clean.
Fantastic experience: A beautiful example of a council led program that is great for the community and creates funds that go back to the community too. Probably has one of the best gyms around too.
Fantastic experience: Gesac is extremely well run with excellent customer service. I wish the staff at gesac would move to msac & teach them how to run a sporting facility. They have no idea
Negative experience: They promote drag queens to work out in their gym (which is weird considering the amount of young children that attend each day) wearing high heels and inappropriate clothing, yet they tell me I cannot use their facilities until i change my footwear as my shoe wear is not "appropriate enough"...
Hi Austin,Thank you for your feedback. I can understand how it appeared that our Pride event performers contradicted our Health Club dress code and I'm sorry for the confusion and frustration this has caused. Our Health Club dress code exists to ensure everyone is safe and comfortable while using our facilities. The Drag Queens were part of a supervised event, with their activities planned and monitored for safety purposes by our operations coordinator. We are unable to provide all members and guests with the level of supervision required to ensure they can be safe in similar attire. We will look at how we can better communicate this in the future. We strongly support the LQBTQI+ Community and Pride celebrations, and we made sure our event was family friendly and highly publicised so our members and guests knew what to expect on the day.If you would like to further discuss your experience, please email our Health Club management at [email protected] regards,Jen
Positive experience: The Hydrophobic poll water is Not hot , I went twice recently i was told by the staff member that’s the water was hot but it wasn’t . also every one else was complaining.
Hi Juliet, we have made some adjustments to the Wellness Area recently to help improve the comfort of our users – We hope your experience moving forward is more comfortable and please do not hesitate to reach out to our customer service team if you have any further concerns or if there's anything else we can assist you with.
Fantastic experience: I used aquatic facilities so far. good pool, efficient and helpful staff, warm water pool can get crowded at times. Finding a slot for parking your car could be a challenge.
Fantastic experience: Body pump trainer wendy really needs to be praised for how incredibly uplifting fun and inspirational she is as an instructor and i must add picks the best music and just overall one of the best vibes for group fitness. She is the reason i remain at gesac because gesac itself has alot of work to do, the parking situation is horrible and yet they are still showing potential new members around daily when the gym does not even have the capacity, money hungry and ridiculous. If we end up having to park in the next suburb to attend here... Not even wendy can convince me
Fantastic experience: Great set up for everyone, gym, aerobic classes, massive kids pool area, basketball. Just awesome. Staff are really helpful and friendly
Fantastic experience: Shout out to Ruby for giving us a tour and explaining the whole process to us. In giving us a 7 day free it really cemented my gym choice. Highly recommend! :)
Negative experience: Says it all really ! The racial discrimination from front desk to management is beyond comprehension. Well done gesac AJ D 4 reviews a year ago Critical: Communication, Professionalism, Quality My brother and I were mistreated ethically and morally by a woman who went by the name of LAURA, absolutely disgusted that people can be treated like this in 2021, after being mistreated her behaviour was enabled by the management team which is so saddening. A refund does not qualify as an apology for that kind of mistreatment and abuse. 26
Hi Collee,I am sorry you had this experience with us. We strive to be a facility where everybody feels welcome and supported. Please contact us at [email protected] so we can investigate your concerns.Thank you, Alex
Fantastic experience: I go there weekly and the facilities are great. Great for kids and adults. Parking is bit crazy sometime but you always manage to find it.
Negative experience: It's always full and school 24 hours 7 days one day outside closed one inside .it's scamming costmser .plz don't waste your money to come this swimming pool .when money they always take your money I haven't seen one say o sorry our swimming pool is full no charge always. I been this 2 years no more .just scamming your money .
Hi John,I am sorry your experience with us has been disappointing. Our pool can get quite busy during Swim School times, which generally finish at 7pm on weekdays. We publish our pool availability on our website to make it easier to plan your visit and avoid busy periods. You can view our pool availability here and find a time more suited to your preferences: https://www.geleisure.com.au/swim/pool-availabilityI hope that is useful and helps you have a better experience with us in the future.Kind regards,Jen
Fantastic experience: The kids always have fun here. I try to avoid the busy period after school or weekends as it becomes quite chaotic! Well setup and the staff are always friendly and helpful.
Positive experience: Not too bad but a few things made it a little annoying to visit. Firstly, the family change rooms are WAY too small. You can’t fit a pram in the cubicle, or more than 2 people. The cafe seating was all taken by people just watching their kids, and not eating. It meant we had to leave to find somewhere to sit. Not that it mattered, the food was so over salted we ended up throwing it out anyway. The small learn to swim pool was great, however more needs to be done to stop kids jumping in. My daughter was landed on twice by the same group of kids. While it’s my closer than other pools, it won’t be our first choice.
Fantastic experience: Thank you to Ruby who helped us sign up with a 7 day free trial! She really helped us decide what gym to pick and gave us a great tour of the facilities! Highly recommend the 7-day trial if unsure if this gym is the right fit :)
Negative experience: Very sad to see the quality of care and management here decline so badly. I'd been a founding member, then moved overseas for a few years. I rejoined last week, and disappointingly found about an inch of grime over the whirlpool/jacuzzi tiles, plus a large assortment of rubbish, used bandaids, and detritus. That was Saturday. I told a lifeguard on the day. Everyday since, the exact same bandaids haven't moved, nothing done. Today, I got the duty manager and asked her to pick the used bandaids as they are a hepatitis concern, can't be done without gloves. I then checked and she hadn't even gotten all of them. Her level of care on the matter was clear in her actions. I'm told a complaint has been put in with the subcontractors who 'clean' this place. I'm be posting daily reviews with every visit until this is resolved and basic hygiene standards are met --like they used to be.
Hi Michael,I am sorry your experience with us has been disappointing. We strive to provide the best experience to all our visitors and assure you that this feedback has been passed on to management and the relevant teams. We understand the importance of a comfortable and hygienic environment and will prioritise following this up. If you'd like to further discuss this issue, please email us at [email protected].
Fantastic experience: Gesac is one of the BEST indoor pools I've ever been to! It has two water slides, a main pool, a play pool, and a spa. Along with that, it has two spacious bathrooms and a canteen! I would highly recommend going here for a fun swim with friends or family.
Fantastic experience: Just signed up yesterday and went for my first swim, a lovely guy at the front desk named Fraser helped me with my induction. He was so warm and welcoming, really appreciated his energy and enthusiasm. Loved the facilities, outdoor pool is excellent and membership price fare for an awesome experience. Looking forward to my next visit. Thanks Fraser, keep up the good work.
Positive experience: Pretty good facilities but I have to say that in a hot day people are packed in like sardines so I have wondered if they monitor their capacity limit. I saw people sneaking through because one of the exit gates was just left open so I suspect they don’t know how many are inside at any one time. Happy to be corrected.
Hi Rajaee,Thank you for your feedback! We love to hear our patrons are enjoying their experience with us.I am happy to report that our lifeguard team regularly conducts headcounts for safety purposes, so we always know our occupancy and ensure that we are operating within our capacity. It is my understanding that the gate was left open due to a temporary maintenance issue which has now been resolved. We hope to see you again soon!Kind regards,Jen
Fantastic experience: Gym is really well equipped. Friendly staff and there’s usually enough weights even when its busy. It’s on the pricier side but if you train regularly or take classes it’s worth it. Parking can get busy especially when the kids have sports on.
Negative experience: Last week when I attended the hydrotherapy pool was STILL not hot enough after weeks of many people complaining about it including my physio, there was white mould on the inside tiles in the spa, some of the globes in the infrared sauna didn't work. The disabled changeroom is always dirty. I hope they change all this soon.
Negative experience: Have been playing netball at GESAC for a number of years. The state of the stadium courts in the last 6 months is very bad and dangerous. They are very slippery and covered with dust. Latest netball season started with every player in every team sliding all over the courts. Have written to competition manager and been advised it will be cleaned. Still dirty and very slippery as of this week. Not good enough when fees are so high.
Positive experience: I have had membership for several years on and off, and have benefited from the Activate classes, however, this year in particular, i am feeling unsafe in these classes due to the overcrowding effect. There are far too many in these classes to make it safe for all. Particularly when weights are involved and lots of sidestepping, people going different directions. Whilst, i continue to attend, I feel I am taking risk and will have to re condider my membership. By the way, i am not alone feeling this way.
Negative experience: Went last weekend - unfortunately pirates cove closed (my bad should have checked the website). We were told at reception but thought that’s fine there’s plenty of lanes to have free swim anyway. Got inside and the amount of swim lessons were excessive. There was 1 lane free for about 50 people and kids all packed like sardines. Tried to use the hydrotherapy pool (as other kids were there for lessons but nope, told to get out). More lanes need to be opened up as there just was not enough room for everyone. A really disappointing experience. Totally understand maintenance needs to happen but perhaps the pool should make more lanes available. Or publish on the website that only 1 lane is available to the public. Should have believed the previous reviews that were written.
Fantastic experience: I love this place for the classes and the infrared sauna. The gym is very busy, but there are a HUGE range of classes in large studios. Some are "virtual," so just on a huge screen without the crowds and instructor. The facilities are awesome, the service is very good too. It's the best gym I've ever been to, going to be sad when I leave the council area!
Negative experience: Hi All, Indoor pool is always filled with swim school and if someone is working from 9-5 and want to swim at 6pm it’s chaos with kids from 3 pm to 7:30pm and only one lane is dedicated for everyone in the 25m pool. Either you are forced to use the outdoor 50m pool or you don’t swim. Being a long term member their service has been degrading to an extent where it isn’t acceptable. Irony is last night which is a Friday I did try to get to the pool at 7:15 pm and they said they are closed at 8 pm and in which swim school was still ongoing. Hope they increase the lanes to general public during their swim school times or completely change their name to swim school and stop membership to general public
Negative experience: Oversubscribed swim school means they don't care if your child makes no progress so long as you keep paying. Lanes are cramped, staff are rude if you question them. Management doesn't care about their customers. Pathetic, greedy service. If you are prepared to pay >$21 per half hour for your kids to be babysat in the pool send them to GESAC.
Fantastic experience: Gesac is one of the places that I have been to my whole life. I have always enjoyed how there is always a spot for everyone. The deep indoor pool for older kids and adults. Pirates cove is always a favorite amongst the kids. The little kids pool that is also very good adults. All these things make gesac the place to be for local swimming.
Positive experience: 애들 수영 가르치가 좋아요.
Fantastic experience: 非常好
Fantastic experience: Really is a 5 star facility. From the staff, gym equipment and classes. Love it
Fantastic experience: Great size gym with lots of equipment and machines available
Positive experience: Fabulous facility for kiddy swimming! But the café food is simply awful…I got a sample of nuggets, croissant and coffee and they all need work. Otherwise, a 5 star experience as far as suburban pools go…
Fantastic experience: I have done multiple PT sessions with trainer Jess Hansen at GESAC and she has honestly helped transform my life. The way I approach my training and overall health has changed drastically for the better because of her. The space and the team at GESAC are really welcoming. It’s a great space to be in as people of all ages and abilities attend this gym. Special shout out also to trainers Tal, Will and TJ. Fantastic trainers to get advice and support from.
Fantastic experience: Great place! Great for kids of varying ages. They offer swimming lessons for all ages. There is a kids pool with slides etc. Also indoor 25m pool, outdoor 50m pool and hydrotherapy pool, plus spa, sauna and gym. Great facilities and nice little cafe.
Positive experience: Ourside 50 m Pool was clean and an excellent experience. Shower and change rooms were a delight.however inside 25m was like bath water and felt unclean. But the price seem excessive compared to Waves and other pool complexes.
Positive experience: Swimming facilities are good. Staff are amazing and helpful. Would give a 5-star if the membership and aquatic contacts are not confusing. Highly recommend GESAC review their membership policies. Think twice before you register as a member of casual entry works well for you.
Negative experience: Its winter and the pools indoor are freezing? I had to get out! My kids could somehow deal with it. Slides are fun for the older kids. Little kids have the play area. I wasn’t allowed to take photos of my own children without other kids in the picture? I wont be returning anytime soon..
Positive experience: It’s a great facility but can get too popular and busy. The change rooms are too small for a facility of its size (felt this way before Covid). The indoor lap pool lane markers are out of alignment with the ropes, which is annoying when doing laps with others. Outdoor pool is nice. Lots of parking but it fills up quickly.
Fantastic experience: Our little kids had a great time with the indoor water playground and the shallow pool was also fantastic. Later we moved onto the bigger pool which had 2 designated play area lanes, plus there was also an outdoor pool. Friendly staff who helped me through the best cost effective pricing package. Couldn't fault the experience. Will be back no doubt.
Fantastic experience: Good facilities for relaxation or proper workout. Excellent and clean 50m outdoor pool
Positive experience: Our grandchildren really loved it. Ideally suited to a younger person. Not overcrowded, clean, well appointed Lots of water based activities
Fantastic experience: Arguably the best kid-friendly leisure pool in Melbourne. You don't pay extra for the tubes, and the main leisure area, with pirate-themed interactive play equipment, is never more than about 0.5m deep, so no wandering into deeper water for the little kids.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful pool and great swimming schools for kids. Swim school teachers and support staff are really friendly and supportive! Kids enjoy their time here!
