Fantastic experience: Sensational facilities and outdoor spaces for the whole family. Shaded children’s area and shallow end of the outdoor pool are just some of the small details that make this place the best leisure centre in merri-bek.

Negative experience: I’m very disappointed with how an incident was handled during a recent visit. My mother slipped on shampoo left on the floor and fell. Staff did not respond until other people called for help. No medical assistance was offered, no incident report was taken, and the spill was not cleaned up at the time. My mother has been experiencing ongoing pain since the fall. This was a concerning lack of care and safety response.

Negative experience: I am honestly really disappointed with Fawkner Leisure Centre lately. The pool temperatures are way too cold. Every time I go, people are freezing. It is meant to be a leisure pool, not an ice bath. For a community centre that is supposed to support health and wellbeing, keeping the water this cold is completely unacceptable. Please raise the temperature so people can actually enjoy swimming without shivering the whole time. On top of that, the female only swimming hours seriously need to be improved. Right now it is only 2 hours on a Friday which is not enough and frankly unfair. A lot of women, especially Muslim women who wear full coverage, rely on this session because they do not feel comfortable or safe in a mixed gender pool. Reducing their access to just a tiny time slot feels like their needs are not being respected. You should extend the Friday session and add at least one more female only day. These women pay like everyone else and limiting their access so heavily feels discriminatory. Community spaces should be inclusive, not restrictive. Fawkner Leisure really needs to do better. Fix the freezing pool temperatures and expand the female only sessions. This matters to a lot of people

Negative experience: They renewed the pool but someone incompetent approved the plans because these uneducated people don't know that there are disabled people! Firstly, parking for disabled people is nealy impossible because they eliminated the 3-4 disable parking spots that were within the compound. Parking spots outside are all taken because there is the water gym group and the kids group so these people accupy all spots. Then you go inside, no sorry you can't walk that why, you've to go the other way around (I'm disabled!) because there is the water gym group! The big swimming pool is occupied and restricted because there is the water gym group, as well as the small pool is restricted because there is the kids' leisure group!!! The water temperature is way too cold and I had to keep all my body inside the water because the wind from the air conditoning system made me even colder. The access to the pool by the steps is way too wide so a disabled person may only use ONE handrail but I needed two handrails, left and right because I cannot walk properly! Ther are NO pool noodles available! There are only TWO toilets that a disabled person may use for shower so once they are taken, you're out of luck! They made this place with huge corridors and huge coffee/breakfast area but they didn't care about disabled people. A waste of money good only for a few HEALTHY people!

Negative experience: Water temperature is way too cold, my 9 month old son was freezing, we were only in for ten minutes. I was advised it was a heated pool which is why we went in the first place.

Positive experience: Before the council spent money on the upgrade (thank you), there was a 'veterans' board showing long standing members names ("member for 10 years", etc). This was great for keeping the local community together and active. But there is a bug in the enrolment system now so that it doesn't let anyone already registered in the past use the same email address to register again (you have to use a new email address) - so that members board system is destroyed since everyone starts from zero again. Shame - it was a very good system. The other problem I see is THE SIZE OF THE GYM! Its TINY! I dont blame the architect - since all plans need to get approved by someone. I really miss the OLD gym - it was a good size and could fit everyone. PLEASE - is there any chance of increasing the size of the gym? Knock out a wall or 2? Honestly its ridiculously small - I'm sure you know this. Its people squashed into a small space bumping into each other. I'm pretty annoyed about that. There is Al's gym, but its not for everyone, so there really isn't a good gym within reach now. Market opportunity for someone else I guess. No use blaming whoever it was that placed priority on other rooms over the gym size - lets move on and just make that gym bigger with what we have aye..

Fantastic experience: Wow. Wonderful staff helpful and the centre is very modern and clean. Best HEATED CHANGING FACILITIES. They even have a small Cafe with coffee cakes and sandwiches. No too many people Wonderful

Negative experience: *****************WARNING***************** “Be cautious when providing them with your bank details for direct debit. I was a victim—they withdrew funds from my account without informing me. It took around 5–6 months to recover my money, after countless calls, emails, complaints, and even involving the Victorian Ombudsman. This is a serious warning for anyone dealing with them and using direct debit.”

Negative experience: Sent an email to provide feedback and why we won’t be back after my son’s first swimming lesson. Rather than a response to my concerns I received 52 notifications to say my child will be absent and you will be charged. The matters have not been addressed. Disappointing to know they don’t address your concerns. So hence the review

Positive experience: Swimming pool is great especially outside very grand. Gym great for basic needs and exercise. Awesome studio space. Sauna Steam and spa needs to be improved:)

Negative experience: Yesterday in 37 degree heat we were told that we would wait just over an hour the pool was at full capacity. I said that's ok we will wait. Then after half an hour the manager decides she will no longer let anyone in the pools to go home. How dare they tell people there is a waiting time then change there mind there are kids waiting in that heat. This fawkner pool has very bad management it's not the first time having to be knocked back. They need to have a sign outside the pools or on there website.

Negative experience: I would really like to go on the weekend and I finish work I arrive at 2.30 at home and as a request I would like you to extend openings up to 20? because in the week it is difficult to go.

Positive experience: Play badminton here, management seems to be not interested in providing proper solution to install nets. The way we install nets is quite hazardous and can cause serious injury to someone.

Positive experience: The women only sundays is great, you get to be free and swim until your heart's content or until 6pm. Still lots of fun.

Positive experience: I have had an injury recently and wanted to get back into lap swimming for recovery. This pool was great because of its higher temperature (30 to 31 deg). Higher than usual for lap swimming but great for rehab. It also means you can jump in without cringing from cooler water. The pool and the changerooms are a bit dated and could do with an update but they are reasonably well maintained and the staff are helpful.

Positive experience: Tried the indoor pool as a casual swimmer this winter. The casual rates were very reasonable which was great. the pool was heated however did not look/feel like it was clean. I dont know what exactly needs to be done to make the experience better, but i hope it does get better.

Negative experience: Went today for the first time. Toddler pool was filthy, truly disgusting, with duck poo, leaves and floaties. Lady on the desk neglected to tell us they were just about to close the kids pools even though I specifically asked her if there was anything we needed to know and was holding a 10 month old. She also didn't tell us that the indoor pool was womens only that arvo. None of the staff I saw indoors were wearing masks.

Fantastic experience: Very friendly staff and great equipment at the gym and great facilities such a pool, sauna and spa. Always go here whenever I feel like relaxing and cooling off. The prices could be a bit cheaper but since you're getting all these facilities, I think the place is worth it. Recommended

Negative experience: Dont bother to pay for spa, you get kicked out for freeloaders. 2 at a time.

Negative experience: I don’t know what and how much of it they add into the pool but within a week the water has bleached my husband’s hair and has burnt out the hair on his limbs, it is so bad that it looks like it has been waxed off. I can only imagine what that water does to ur skin. It’s just unsafe, and this kind of training does more harm than good.

Negative experience: Pool a bit outdated. But that’s not the issue. The issue is kids and adults constantly in the swimming lanes. Everytime we go we have to ask people to move out of the lanes so we can do our laps. Many others at the facility have the same issue. The staff need to identify the lap lanes with signs and also ensure they are kept clear. Or else a swimmer is going to knock into a kid and someone will get hurt. Other than that. No problems.

Positive experience: This place needs maintenance asap!! The change room and showers are never clean. Some of the swimming teachers are just a waste of time and money, and God forbids you try to comment on anything, you'll be spoken to like you are begging from them! Their booking system is a failure! The 3 stars are only for the staff at the reception area, they're very welcoming and helpful.

Positive experience: Bit pricey for a swim plus spa.

Positive experience: Indoor pool is GREAT for rehabbing. There's a large shallow area (0.6m depth to 1m depth) for exercises with increased gravitational resistance, swim lanes (only about 4-5) for swimming, and a couple of lanes space for further aquaplay/hydrotherapy with a depth of 1m-1.5m. Not great for lap swimming as it isn't particularly long, however, excellent for those doing rehab. Indoor pool is also heated, only downside is only one set of stairs for entry and no ramp if using a wheelchair. There is a seated lift for those who are unable to use the stairs, but if there's a problem, there's no ramp for those who need a ramp.

Fantastic experience: this community hall is one of the est to hold small community events. huge free parking is available around and big parking space is also there. theres a big park outside to the kids can play while their parents can enjoy some event. reasonable charges to book this place but if you are looking to book it for your events please decide at your earliest as it's not easy to get it on weekends. kitchen facility is also available which is well equipped for all your needs. there are different entrances to the hall to cater tour needs both side parking is available

Positive experience: Friendly staff and welcoming environment. However I found the Gym and pool area very small.

Negative experience: Couple of years later we have a new swim centre but still no hot water for showers. Seems they brought the old chip heater with them. Today they had a crowd stand outside waiting for opening time. When open we go in to be told the pool is closed until next week. Just like the old centre. No improvement. Unreliable staff and equipment.

Fantastic experience: The Sunday only women program is a brilliant idea, it is a place for women & young girls to break their isolation and feel connected.it is great ; I am wondering why they cut the end time from 7pm to 6pm, it is well attended.

Fantastic experience: Staff are very friendly and approachable. I have only used the pool facility here and have not explored their other leisure facilities such as the gym. However, I absolutely love the pool here! It's very spacious and has great range of water depth. It all makes for a great and comfortable overall experience for a place to relax and swim.

Negative experience: This pool sucks! Hasnt been cleaned since i was in primary school! Tiles are stained, ground needs replacing and spa has been vroken for years! Ill never come back again!!!!

Negative experience: Dirty toilets and change room, rusty pools. Duck poo all over the place. All around the edges of toddler pool. Surface of the outdoor pools cut both husbands and kids feet. Rubbish floating around in pools Will not be back. I have taken my kids there for swim in lessons. Not anymore. Too dirty. Yuk
