Splash Aqua Park and Leisure Centre: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Amazing staff! Clean water! Clean toilets! Cannot ask for more!! Cheers!
Positive experience: only indoor pool i prefer outdoor. very busy. but impressed with the number of life guards on duty. sadly but understandable i was not allowed to take photos so missed the memory of my grandsons first swim.
Fantastic experience: 2 metre lap pool is awesome
Fantastic experience: Good
Positive experience: The place looks beautiful when empty but sometimes gets crowded and noisy. I would say this is the best facility we have in Craigieburn to relax and to remain active with lots of offeeings. The maintainece of the facility should be done at a better pace. The spa needs more pressure, and the steam room needs fresh paint. Staff is nice to deal with. Also, more common shower areas are required.
Positive experience: Gym has everything you need for a good workout but isn't very organised.
Fantastic experience: Splash Aqua Park and Leisure Centre is a 5 star swimming pool. Casual swim passes can be purchased at the Centre.
Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience with Rachel while signing up my 1-year-old for swimming lessons. She was incredibly patient, friendly, and informative throughout the process. As a first-time parent navigating this, I truly appreciated how she took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure we felt comfortable. Looking forward to the lessons and thank you, Rachel, for making it such a positive experience!
Positive experience: I've had a pretty good time here - been coming here for about 5 years. I try to avoid the swimming pool during peak times. Early mornings and during winter works well. I wish there was more parking and nearby centres built to accomodate a growing population. It is impossible to find parking on 6 PM at Monday. Apart from that, the gym is pretty good. Basic, but is more than capable of getting the job done no matter what your goals (unless if you do strongman or MMA).
Fantastic experience: Enjoyed swimming and sauna.
Positive experience: I love this place I go often but I want to encourage everyone in the management team to fix the lockers o swap them for new one I have never been able to use them because the don’t work properly
Positive experience: Decent place if you get there early in the day the water is clean and not too crowded
Fantastic experience: I went with my wife and son who is 4. We had an amazing time swiming and getting splashed by the huge water bucket. We went on the day where everyone was having swiming lessons so it was prety busy but there was still plenty of space for us.
Fantastic experience: My GYM
Fantastic experience: good experience!
Positive experience: Too crowded
Fantastic experience: This was my first time visiting this place with my client, and I have to say, the experience was wonderful! The staff were attentive, the organization was excellent, and the lifeguards were fantastic especially one named Andrew. He isn’t just professional and amazing at his job; his kindness, compassion, and positive energy toward every child and person he meets are truly remarkable. I absolutely loved the experience and felt that Andrew deserves recognition for his dedication and the way he goes above and beyond. I’d give him 5+ stars!
Positive experience: Good facilities but parking can get hectic during peak hours.
Fantastic experience: The swim school is excellent! Shout out to Eryn, who is always so patient with my son. He's made strides with her!
Fantastic experience: Good Gym
Positive experience: Water quality and lufe gaurds are perfect
Negative experience: This place is a joke. Rules, rules and more rules with absolute no common sense used. Our family attended Splash today for a play/swim but also with the intention of me having some one on one time to help my 10 year old son with his diving. He does swimming lessons but they do not spend a lot of time on diving in the lesson nor do much to correct his technique so he has shown little improvement. He is also a little scared of diving into the water and I knew spending time with someone he trusted, being me, would help a little with that fear. When it came time to practise I took him to the deep 2 metre pool, thinking of depth safety eg less chance of head hitting the pool floor. We were also near the steps of the pool so that we could grab onto something quickly to get out if needed, not that we really needed this. On top of this we were the ONLY ones in that pool. He was not standing to dive, just doing dives crouching from the knees. I was using my hands to help guide him into the water instead of him just plunging into the water. We were in no way being silly or dangerous. I was legitimately trying to help him dive. The next thing, I'm stopped by a lifeguard and told no diving. When I tried to explain I was just teaching my son how to dive, I was told again no diving. I then asked how is my son meant to learn to dive then as swimming lessons had done nothing to teach him and this is the answer I get...."You will have to go to Broadmeadows or Sunbury pool as they allow diving there." SERIOUSLY!!! I have Splash aquatic centre 5 mins from my house with a pool suitable for learning to dive yet I have to drive 30 plus minutes away in order to teach my son to dive..... So in short, SPLASH is against people learning proper swimming techniques and skills and then wonders why it has so many 'incidents!'
Fantastic experience: Hydro pool fantastic on your body
Negative experience: Absolutely vile, disgusting, unhygenic venue. I witnessed three people strip nappies off toddlers in under one hour and send them into a pool without a swim nappy. I also waded through diahorrea upon entry which was cleaned initially with a dustpan and brush and then followed up with a quick mop. Absolutely disgraceful, good luck to all who enter on the gastroenteritis front.
Positive experience: Its a convenience, they have polite staff, pools, steam, Sona, and Gym at good prices
Negative experience: certain ethnic groups are on their phones taking photos of their kids and recording everyone else swimming too.. NO PHONES Please! do not allow photo/videos and show respect to everyone's privacy. guards need to be firm.
Positive experience: Showers are having hot water issues. Need more family changing rooms.
Fantastic experience: The centre is always clean and well kept. A huge shout out to the staff, alway willing to help you out and answer any questions.
Fantastic experience: Craigieburn Splash is a fantastic aquatic center with something for everyone. The hot pool, sauna, and steam room are perfect for relaxation, while the kids will love the exciting water activities. The facility is clean, well-maintained, and staffed by friendly professionals. Plus, the prices are very reasonable, making it an excellent choice for family fun and unwinding. Highly recommended!
Positive experience: Lockers are broken most of the time.
Fantastic experience: I love this pool, it is fantastic!! Great customer service, very friendly and helpful staff. I feel very comfortable taking my 4,5,6 yr olds on my own
Positive experience: Great pool, slides and holiday activities
Fantastic experience: Anni is the best coach in Pilates 100% recommend coming and trying out
Fantastic experience: Splash is good for all ages. Only problem is some people (all ages) take enormous time for showers. Come on people they are public showers, keep it simple s. My two kids finish showers one by one in one cubicle and people in other cubicles are still showering.. unbelievable ..
Fantastic experience: Swim school for my little one has been a little rough. The teachers and stuff at splash have been amazing. I can’t thank them enough for taking their time with her and making it a fun experience.
Negative experience: Don't go on their membership plan they don't let you cancel
Negative experience: they dont even let you in if you are 17 and someone tried selling me coke and the life gaurds are there to piss you off
Fantastic experience: 5 stars for customer service to the 2 men who helped on the slide today abit after 2pm. Your kindness spoke in volumes. To the guy who made a hot chocolate and a Carmel latte at approx 4pm today your customer service and problem solving were impeccable thanks for making today a smooth day x
Fantastic experience: A great gym with nice staff and positive vibes . The light incoming the gym is so satisfying :)
Fantastic experience: Great pools and water slides
Fantastic experience: Great place but bit busy.
Fantastic experience: Love the steam sauna, and heated pool, spa jet pressure and temperature shoud be increased.
Positive experience: Great pool. Good little splash park for the littles. Not much in way of amenities though, especially family rooms. So wait for changing was long and cold
Negative experience: Worst swimming centre ever. Terrible management and customer service. Rude and lifeguards not really doing their job just chatting with their mates, and do not care about the kids safety. Staff at the front office also zero computer skills and not answering any questions -asking to check website!!!- do not waste your time at splash.
Positive experience: Today, I visited "Splash Aqua Park and Leisure Centre" in Craigieburn and wanted to share my experience. The location is convenient, though the parking area is often busy. However, you can usually find a spot for your car. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and there are plenty of lifeguards around, which is reassuring. The pool itself is clean and well-maintained, and I enjoyed my time there. The main issue I encountered was with the lockers. They offer two sizes—small and large. Unfortunately, most of the large lockers are broken or have issues with locking. I recommend keeping most of your belongings in your car and using the small lockers instead. Overall, it was a good experience, despite the locker issue.
Positive experience: Attended with a school for prep swimming lessons. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They blocked off change rooms just for our school which made keeping our students safe so much easier. I have been to a number of different pools for school swimming, this is my absolute favourite!
Fantastic experience: Great for family . Friendly staff. Child friendly.
Fantastic experience: My everyday go to place Gym is equipped with all necessary toys
Negative experience: I Iwent with my kids on Easter Saturday for Swimming to Splash . But water was tooo cold and chilled. They doesn’t maintain the temperature in pool and in showers. which in result my kids got fever, cold and cough. It took 2 weeks to settle down. I advise to the people who wants to go splash ask them how is the water temperature.
Fantastic experience: Was there to know about the gym and membership. Instructor ( Memet) if I am not wrong how it's spelled, working there was impressive. He showed me the way around and explained everything politely.
Positive experience: Great place for kids with lots of options and areas to swim Although on most busy days the close the kids area
Negative experience: It's OK, I was able to teach the kids more about swimming in 3 casual sessions than they learnt from 2 years of swimming lessons. The water is so highly chlorinated your clothes permanently wreak of it. The staff are irritable at times, I get there's a high priority of safety but a few seem to have an inflated ego.
Negative experience: Water is cold and they are only taking cash - pathetic honestly and on top of it all they give you attitude..!!!!!
Fantastic experience: Good place to bring the kids. Lots of pools abs includes a giant water slide
Fantastic experience: The staff here are wonderful . Always friendly, kind and helpful. The staff at reception are amazing. Such a credit to this company. Highly recommend.
Fantastic experience: A fun place for family. My kids are coming here from two years now for their swimming classes. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Lots of fun in school holidays. Water rides are also open so full fun package for families.
Positive experience: It's really big and good to take your kids there
Fantastic experience: Splash is an incredible center. The place was not just clean – it was sparkling. I have to give a big shoutout to Sami for his exceptional service at the cafe, making my swim even better. It's more than just a swimming experience; it's a whole vibe with fantastic food. The staff, especially Sami, is seriously amazing, and their dedication shines through. Can't wait for another visit!
Negative experience: I am a disability support worker who along with another worker, support a young man in a wheelchair to swim in the hydropool. This aquatic centre has only one changing space that is accessible to wheelchairs with a change bed and hoist. That is the only room we can use. Constantly we arrive at the pool to wait outside the room for long periods of time only to observe somebody come out who though may have a disability, could easily use any of the multitude of change rooms. We have a limited amount of time allocated to this activity and today we had to leave without getting in the pool after waiting more than 20 mins for the change room. We complained to the centre management who gave us platitudes but ultimately were not prepared to do anything. They stated they can't put time limits in place, though all the ambulant change facilities have time limits. There needs to be enforced time limits or another wheelchair accessible change room.
Negative experience: Why there is only one ded for a disabled wheel chair change room. Only one and it was occupied for 40 minutes. Staff telling us we can not knock at room. Craigieburn has 35000 residents and only one swimming pool.
Negative experience: Half the pools are occupied for swim lessons Life guards are there for harassment Floor is slippery, although it is textured but still super slippery
Negative experience: I will never be back to this centre ever again ,I recently went to the splash centre in Craigieburn last Sunday which was a warm day we did go at around about 1 o’clock I went with my daughter and her friend there were two reasons why we were attending the centre. The first reasons we haven’t been there before but the main reason was my daughter School was going to be having some swimming lessons and we wanted to see the facilities before we send her off with the school. I was horrified and will never send my daughter there ever again it wasn’t the fact that we waited in the queue because capacity to the facilities was met, that was not the issue we understand it was it warm day. but once we entered they said that we could use the water slide but it will be closing within half an hour once my daughters reach the slide it was then closed immediately and the girls could not use the slides we were offered a refund which was great but there were still lack of staff They were telling us and things could not be used and supervised properly fair enough, The girls manage to use one of the pools which was okay came closer to closing time , The girls went to the changing rooms and were horrified And said that they would not be able to use the changing room as there was faeces all over the shower floors which I had witnessed myself and other people who were at the time entering the changes also had witnessed this no one had seem to report it so I reported it at the front desk and they were almost like oh okay and they didn’t even arrange a maintenance person to clean it up very quickly or say that we will get someone straight away there it was all up almost like they didn’t believe us. The very next day I have reported this to the Hume Council and have spoken to the splash manager they were very apologetic but in having said this my daughter School is reinforcing the issue that she must attend swimming lessons at the centre which I am refusing to send her on the grounds of what I have seen, The place is very rundown and lack of staff lifeguards are rude when supervising the children facilities were closed and you could not use much of the area , is centre is not a very nice environment for families to attend specially if they are not cleaning up after themselves or reporting any spillage very disappointing as there is no other centre in my area I will not be attending this facility and I’ll wait for council to ring me back with further instructions about this Centre, Reading through some of the reviews I’m not sure if people are really looking at the centre with open eyes I did not see anything great about the centre very sad my daughter is horrified, The standard of hygiene in this facility is very poor,
Negative experience: Swimming school. There is no one to complain to. Splash has become a swimming school and they have put everyone in the community in this area on the shelves. Money is the most important. Don't believe them if they say they care about people. Look at their actions and you will realize that they are liars. But most important of all is that no one cares, even if the people of Australia in all states came together on what the Splash administration is doing, they will never change anything as long as they make money. Close the splash and write for children only.
Fantastic experience: My kids enjoy attending swimming lessons, and playing there. It's very clean place alot of toilets and showers. The best thing they allow you to bring your own food or snacks for your kids, so they can eat aside and go to play, which all kids do.
Negative experience: February 2024 UPDATE 50m pool available only from 5:30am to 8:30am. Yes, you read correctly. Millions of dollars of public money spent for an olympic pool with a moving boom trashed. What a joke! Is anyone willing to investigate this insult to taxpayers? Updated to 1 star. March 2023 UPDATE On the website there is this ALERT: "There is always something happening at Splash...". EXACTLY: there is TOO MUCH HAPPENING AT SPLASH, almost every week this or that is closed, not working, booked, reduced... This is NOT a public pool anymore. This is a SCHOOL POOL. Not only the main pool is usually partially closed in the morning, but some times COMPLETELY CLOSED from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Which actually means from about 9:30 to 2:30. And always in the 25m configuration. Not fair for all those who pay to use the pool any time of the day. Lower the fees or build another pool for the schools. And also left very dirty after school groups and with poor level of maintenance. PREVIOUS: My first review of Splash Aqua Park and Leisure Centre was written soon after the new centre opened and then updated periodically, with last update in March 2023. Now a smmary: GOOD: nice 50m pool, comfortable sitting area, cafeteria, shop, fitness programs, wellness centre, close to shopping centre, convenient for students and teens (very welcome option from 12yo) and very convenient for seniors. BAD: NO hairdryers and no power points; SHOWERS' HEADS too close to wall WATER stream too variable with multi users. NO separate 50m pool and kids' areas (can be noisy and crowded); STILL dangerous rocks filling of spaces (parking); GYM is nice but it would need more machines of certain kind (only one for abs!!); frequent FAILURE OF INTERNET connection (cardio equipment often with no TV or news online); PARKING is insufficient during school holidays (not less than 3 months a year...); Thanks to bad designers and/or bad builders, a wrongly designed floor keeps a LARGE PUDDLE forever in front of the giant splashing bucket. VERY BAD: STILL NO early entrance on weekends (WHY??? On weekends the pool area is usually overcrowded with kids, so it would make sense to have at least a 6:30 or 7:00); and early closing time on weekends too! Really? Just when people have more time you close the pool?!? NO "no-underwear" policy (unhygienic); HOT TUB mistakenly built with the same pool's max temperature (Hume Council: please find who has been responsible for this mess, and if it was you, then admit you were and spend the money to fix it...); NO hotter water in the hot tub. POOL LOCKERS are too narrow and GYM LOCKERS not deep enough for an average sport bag. Still SHELVES often missing. Poor maintenance of taps and very poor cleaning and maintenace of lockers. Many locks STILL not working, the same ones, month after month... SUGGESTIONS: 1. what about wall hairdryers? What’s good in trying to keep healthy swimming or doing hydrotherapy and then catch a cold or worse freezing your head in the winter's outside cold wind? 2. Close a week the hot water pool and fix the hot tub. Then fix the wrongly designed floor, the ridiculous shower heads and the pressure and quantity of the water flow. 4. Plan dividing the space and create separate (although connected) swimming and kids’ leisure spaces, just like it has been already wisely done for the Warm Water Pool, which is completely enclosed. SERIOUS ISSUES TO BE IMPROVED (already signalled): replace the rock fillings in the parking with other less dangerous material! GENERAL COMMENTS. All considered, it does not seem that mixing swimming and kids’ ponds and splash features is a good idea. The often overcrowded and noisy environment should suggest to Councils that although if might seem brilliant (and cheaper) creating a water multi-space, Aqua Parks and swimming facilities do not go well together and produce a lose-lose situation. Members should receive a text in advance for closure of pool lanes for private events and carnivals. Too many kids, noisy after school hours. Please separate kids' areas from main pool.
Positive experience: it's such a fun place, my kids loved it
Positive experience: Hard to get parking during swimming class hours. Showers can be managed better.
Negative experience: Rude lifeguard. Has no idea how to speak to people. Singled my family out and kept picking on us. Asked to speak to a supervisor however another worker had come to speak to me and not the supervisor.
Negative experience: Pool is in good condition and not always busy in the morning. I would go everyday if there was facilities to be able to get ready before work. There are no power points (for hairdryer) to be able to get ready for work and therefore makes it hard.
Fantastic experience: With two fun big water slides and water play area for the little ones it's a great all rounder for everyone to enjoy. Like any indoor pool it does get busy but it's still fun and the wait time for the slides isn't too bad. Lockers are available, a cafe for snacks and they have with swimming items available to buy if needed such as floaties, goggles etc. Baby swimming nappies are available near reception if you are in need. Plenty of parking available but be aware of the surrounding roadworks and road changes accessing the surrounding area. The slides and aqua play have set open and close times to the swimming pool area so be sure to check before arriving so you don't miss out. Overall a great inexpensive day out close to home.
Positive experience: nice huge pools and sauna, and a gym. usually large line during hot days. has slides and parks. nice place.
Positive experience: good place to hang out with friends/family but usually kids pool is very dirty, needs cleaning.
Fantastic experience: I went to this gym today and a staff member called Kris was really lovely. She was really helpful, friendly and easy to approach!
Fantastic experience: I go for group classes, all of them are full of energy and works great for me, but since we have almost multiple trainers for every class ( all of them are great but we all get our favourite ones) so, it would be great to know, who is conducting our class at the time of booking like there should be a mentioning of name of the trainer or something on the app or a seperate trainer's schedule so that we can have our class with our favourite trainers.
Fantastic experience: Took the kids there for the first time today and we were not disappointed. We had an absolutely fabulous time. Pools were good temperature and the water fun play area was amazing. I didn't get a chance to go on the water slides but my daughter did and said it was super fun. Definitely going again.
Negative experience: The gym is a overcrowded joke, they just keep adding members and no extension or added equipment for the large volume of people.
Fantastic experience: Splash is a great place to take the family for a swim or play on the kids splash play area. Sometimes the kids area is closed due to maintenance.
Fantastic experience: I visited the centre today and a gentleman in the reception helped us with the ticket...did not get his name but he said he is originally Lebanese...he was just great and made us feel so good...Thank you ❤️
Positive experience: Always busy which means there are so many kids everywhere there's hardly space to move. Wish they would do bookings in blocks and cap the amount of entrants to allow for some space for people to actually swim. Facilities are good - nice pools and the water park is a hit with the kids. Don't like how many peoples long hair gets stuck on me while I'm trying to swim - pretty gross now that I think of it.
Negative experience: My daughter started having swimming lessons there first of all her trainer had day off and when I asked they said make sure you call first before you come in if the trainer is on or not . Then after the swim lesson one of the staff member was really rude and ask me to take my daughter out from the pool as they have to use it for other classes and there is no other space available and not only she accuses my 3 yr old for pushing someone while she was only standing behind another kid she pulled my daughter out from the water with such a strong grip that my daughter had marks on her arm and was even saying you are hurting me .but the lady didn't even bother .and the management didn't do anything even after passing this information.
Positive experience: The diversity in pool depths is fantastic. There's an indoor wet playground, hydro slides, deep pool, an infant pool, toddler, and a young swimmers pool and a spa. Get in early on hot days, though, because it gets full pretty quickly. I highly recommend that you become a member of Splash because you'll have access and priority entry perks to the gym and pool.
Negative experience: The desk staff and life guards are friendly and nice. But, this facility is poorly managed and poorly maintained. The change rooms and facilities are in poor working condition, are overcapacity, and are grubby. If you plan to go for a swim after work, you are restricted to sharing 1-2 lanes between 6-8 people as all the other lanes are taken up by swim lessons. Not too sure why they boast about a 50m pool, it is rarely (if ever) open for the full 50m and is just split into two 25m lengths, which is even more impressive that they don't have enough lanes open for the public to use. This facility clearly can't cope with the number of programs and activities for the surrounding areas, they really should have kept the old Leisure Centre pools open. If you want to go to a pool for a swim, go to Broady or Coburg.

Positive experience: So, my son goes to splash swimming and sometimes there is poop
Negative experience: Very unprofessional staff and terrible customer service. In particular, in the pool area, no place in the pool for members who pay them on direct debit. Entire place allocated for kids n classes even though half pool made shallow for kids. Staff became rude and disrespectful. I just refused you to swim and no one there to report to.
Negative experience: No room for membership card holders, why would I pay $46 fornightly if all the swimming lanes are for lessons only. If so lower the price and post it on your website. Waited there for about an hour to finally enter pool only to find that this only lane for non lesson swimmers has also been converted to lessons only. Staff on counter need’s training on how to resolve an issue, DON’T SAY SORRY. If your sorry show in your actions like Ok let me help you or REFUND.
Fantastic experience: One of the best places in Craigieburn, friendly and professional staff and swimming coaches. The facilities are well-maintained, and the pricing is reasonable. It's not crowded during school hours.
Negative experience: No swim play area with deep water? What happens if a child finds themselves in water and cannot touch the bottom" panic " with so many parents from non swimming cultures how are they expected to respond if a child is in a river or at the beach and gets into trouble? I find this worrying and bordering on negligent to only teach and experience swimming and playing in shallow water. Stop cotton wooling and return to the proven methods of the past. I hope this review finds someone with common sense .
Fantastic experience: A great facility. A well equipped and staffed gymnasium. Fair pricing. Gymnasium access 24/7 for members. I use the gymnasium daily for my rehabilitation program. It has all the right equipment.
Fantastic experience: Always the best Just timing of the big slides the issue but oh well far more better than others around
Negative experience: Small gym, terrible staff, very rude staff. Bridget started screaming at me for no reason disgusting attitude
Fantastic experience: Patrick from splash has the best customer service I have ever experienced. Most understanding staff and very helpful. Thank you
Fantastic experience: I love this place it has a gym and a swimming pool, and many great features.
Fantastic experience: Got to get in early on hot days as they do reach capacity. They have a range of pools and waterslides including a splash park for the kids and a baby pool.
Fantastic experience: Great place for kids and families all staff are so good and well-organised lots of fun to play for
Positive experience: Pools are great, friendly staff, change rooms could be better, thay need to be checked, some needed a clean
Negative experience: Friendly staff Very poor customer service, I mind no customer service at all. Hygiene, don't exist at all, disgusting steaming from, changing rooms, floors, swimming pool, everything. I'm very surprised how this place open the doors. By the way. Clean the swimming pool when people are just right there, is not only unacceptable, also are disrespect for customer and unhygienic, that is unacceptable guys
Fantastic experience: The kids love visiting Splash! The waterslides are fantastic, and the facilities are 2nd to none. Well worth our 30 minute drive here. Cheapest kids entertainment in town.
Negative experience: No way I’ll get back to this place. was super busy, super dirty, plus you need to deal with some of their rude staff members… Don’t wast your time!
Negative experience: The duty manager is annoying and always assuming things because we were black. The pools were closed for more than an hour and we couldn’t do anything
