Negative experience: Entry price has doubled and it is so unclean now. Also, I'm pretty sure they've lowered the temperatures of all the pools. Sadddddd.

Negative experience: Depressing. Having used the facilities at Maribyrnong for a few month's, coming here was a shock. First the entry staff were very unwelcome. Second, the change rooms were dirty, it was 10am in the morning, and it smelled, and there was dirty underwear in one of the lockers. The saunas were dark (not the end of the world), but smelled like they had not been cleaned and again 10am in the morning, no excuse. You can't possibly tell me they are regularly cleaned , especially compared to MAC, with a smaller, busier sauna that is cleaner. The floor of the saunas was caked in grime. Overall very depressing, feels like no care goes into the management of this facility. Desperately needs a change in management, and if the manager is reading this, shame on you for letting a public facility get like this.

Negative experience: The pool needs a good update and a decent clean. In the lap pool kept getting strands of hair caught on my goggles when swimming laps There is a dirt line around the hydro pool with people coming straight from the sauna, jumping in and not showering off first. The lifeguards stand huddled in a corner and don’t manage the environment. Change rooms and toilets are filthy. It could be good facility but needs some attention

Negative experience: Very displeased with this gym, I had a baby and therefore was not able to attend the gym anymore lacking time. I called in the center and ask the person to cancel my membership. I was asked for my name and number and was told it was done and I did not need to do anything else, by the person over the phone. I asked him to confirm that was the only thing I needed to do (as I had cancelled my membership previously and had done it via a written request). He confirmed it and I didn't think about it anymore to find out that a couple weeks later I was still being charged (and the fees had gone up as well...). I asked for the situation to be corrected and to be reimbursed. My request was denied by the direction who does not take responsability for that person that mislead me and are saying I should have know as I had cancelled it before. This is 200$ worth of membership. This is very bad of customer service, as the fault is not mine and they are using ridiculous excuses to not reimburse a fee I should not be charged as I DID NOT attend the gym for that period. You are taking money for absolutely NO reason, this is called stealing. I really do not recommend this gym and am very displeased with the contempt shown by the answer given by the direction of the center.
Fantastic experience: Really enjoyed the water, it was nice and warm, we were in the kids zone mostly. And the kids under 5 got in free, which was another great thing. Loved it, we had a good time as a familly, will come back.

Fantastic experience: I take my two sons to AVLC for the go swim lessons and they love having Simon as their swim teacher. He's very patient with them and provides good instructions that young kids listen to.

Fantastic experience: ascot vale leisure has excellent facilities like a steam room sauna and spa as well as pretty good lap pool for value for money. It's up. There is one of the best in Melbourne and it's open the latest till 11 at night . Going for a late night swim here and sauna session is one of the most relaxing and sleeping inducing activities you can do around great place

Negative experience: One of the benefits of this centre is that the indoor pool is open quite late. So, it is perfect for a quick swim after work. However, apparently, they don’t do cash payments after 10:30PM which is not advertised on their website or interior signage. I went there tonight (16/01.2024) because I wanted a 15-minute swim. I arrived at reception with my cash-in-hand at 10:27PM. I greeted the customer service representative and said “Can I have a quick swim please”. Without greeting she snapped back “Not with cash. We don’t do cash after 10:30PM”. I said “I don’t understand why that’s a thing”. And her response was “We don’t do cash after 10:30PM. Anyways, the pool closes in 15 minutes. Can you pay with card?”. As I don’t take my credit cards or valuables to a public pool, I was denied access to a council funded community service for a nonsense policy 3 minutes before the cut-off. Moreover, this policy is exclusionary to economically disadvantaged members of the Moonee Valley Community.

Negative experience: I've used this pool a fair bit since the Kensington one is being refurbished. It's been ok for a public facilityqnd maybe a ywar ago id have given 3 or 4 stars. The gentleman who managed the swim lessons at the weekend early last year was awesome with my son and I'd rate it highly just for that. But the past few months it has just got worse and worse. To the point Saturday I actually asked for my money back. The pools were cold again (told this will be a couple of days but it happened in 2023 and was many weeks to repair). The facilities were filthy. The lap lane i swam in had napkins and really visible dirt and stones on the floor. The steam room stank and just felt dirty I couldn't stay in it. And kids were using the lap lanes to play and just ignored any (minimal) efforts by lifeguards to move them on. I was told I'd get a call about a refund. 4 days later and I haven't...... I'll be checking out other facilities and can't wait for Kensington to open again.

We've spent the last few months addressing the water temperatures across all our pools and working with various contractors who have been replacing boilers and heat pumps to ensure that all the water temps are consistent and we don't have any more situations of cold pools.Our operations team have been working closely with our cleaners to ensure that all areas of our facility are clean and tidy, an ensuring there's never any rubbish in the pools. Negative experience: I was disgusted by the lack of support by the life guards at the pool. For children where running around jumping into the pool, spitting in the water and also floating bandages in the water also. It is the first time that I have been disgusted by what I witnessed there with my children. It was unhealthy and was something people should not put there family through.
Thank you for providing your feedback. This was passed on to our team and was an opportunity for further education and training for our lifegaurd team. In future, any instances such as this should be reported to our Duty Manager immediately, so they can address the situation there and then.
Fantastic experience: A child was scared of the water to the point of essentially being a non-participant during swim class. Ren showed patience and understanding. She took the time to reduce the child's fear of water and the swim centre environment. Now the child is actually keen to leave home to go swimming. The child attempts to join in during every activity. I couldn't ask for more. Much of this change in the child's reaction is due to Ren. Thank you Ren.

Negative experience: While the facilities here are good, the management along with the private company managing this Centre is sub-standard and disappointing. A good centre let down by management's poor attitudes towards customers/members.
Negative experience: Staff managers are bias and hateful to members of the LGBTIQ+ community here. Their gender inclusion policy is really poor, and only celebrate it in lip service!
It is disheartening to read feedback such as this, and to think anybody would have this view of us. We are proud to support the LGBTQIA+ community of Moonee Valley, have staff members who openly and proudly identify as LGBTQIA+ themselves or support the community as allies. Negative experience: This is a super expensive gym, Wonder why? You are subsidising huge numbers from 'certain' communities' in there area... who I am told get totally FREE or heavily discounted memberships, who mostly have an appalling sense of entitlement, while WE pay in excess of $1000 are year. What a joke. Say anything about this and guess what you get called? It starts with the letter R. The only reason I stay is I have many social connections there, and i also refuse to to buckle to the local council's WOKENESS policies. I will certainly push back hard on this issue in the near future and expose what is going on. The place has good basic facilities but I would say don't even think about it. John who works in the gym on Sunday is a star, Dave and Adrian nice...most of the other staff are insufferable.

Negative experience: The stadium door is missing a closer mechanism, it has been like that for months. the result is that the door slams dangerously behind every person who enters. There will be an accident or injury to a hand or finger if it is not repaired.

Negative experience: Unsolicited SPAM over SMS is a low act. Our personal phone numbers are not a resource for you to exploit! I've never even been to Ascot Vale- did you buy a list of mobile numbers to SPAM? Shame on you.

You could very easily reply STOP and it will remove the number from the database. Alternatively, we encourage you to email your mobile number to our Assistant Manager, James ([email protected]) and he can make sure that your mobile number is removed from the database entirely, but it would also then allow us to contact the person with your number in their account.We don’t appreciate you jumping to conclusions and making false accusations about us ‘buying a list of mobile numbers to spam’. Due to the loss of power for the day, we were unable to open the facility. We have been quite diligent in communicating the upcoming closure across our website, and social media platforms, in-venue signage, and multiple email newsletters, so we do not accept your statement about not telling members.As for your accusation regarding us being ‘always closed without telling members’, communication to our members is crucial to any closure regardless of its duration, and we always ensure that we communicate these across multiple channels regularly to ensure we provide as much notice as possible. Fantastic experience: Fantastic centre in general. I have been to many leisure centres in my time and none of them are as welcoming and professional as ascot vale. Staff are all friendly and switched on and always add to making it a wonderful experience every time I visit.

Positive experience: Pool is good, however poolside staff need to move people between lanes based in their pace. Train your staff in order to keep lanes flowing. Also people have no lane etiquette.

The staff that you're referring to are our team of lifeguards whose focus is monitoring the pool to ensure that everybody is swimming safely in and around the water and to attend to any incidents that may occur. Our lanes are clearly marked with relevant speeds (fast / medium / slow, gentle exercise / walking) as well as when aqua classes and swimming lessons are on to ensure that there is no confusion.It is up to individuals to use common sense to determine which lane they use for their exercise, based on the speed in which they do so. If any individuals are deliberately causing an issue in the facility or a risk to somebody's health and safety, then we encourage you to speak to the Duty Manager on shift at the time and they can provide assistance and resolve the situation.
Fantastic experience: Very good place for a swim. Very tidy and good electronic lockers, plenty of lanes for swimmers. I can see the other area are smaller compared to other places, but seems that space has been provided for all different people.

Positive experience: Aquatic centre facilities is outdated no big changes since 2013. Specially want to mansion spa it’s just been renovated. It took half a year for construction team to finish their work and to my surprise it’s got worse when before! If be honest now it’s a worse spa in the area comparing to the spa in MAC or Killer East Move centre. Down to the spa problems: only 8 jets are working 4 on one side and 4 on other side, but instead of being spread around spa evenly they are next to each other. And if 4 people use it on a same time it makes as seat very close to one another almost touching shoulders. Second, spa edge raised higher and now you can not rest had on it but instead increasing risk of hitting your back of the head. Finally, seat in the water made with slippery tiles and it’s only increase possibility to bump your back of the had on the high spa edge. To conclude this is not just my personal opinion but opinion of all patrons I had a chance to talk about this spa.
Positive experience: The pool and pricing was good I do wish there were more leisure lanes in the big pool. I also do not understand why you have to be 16 to go in the warm pool and spa a flaw in my opinion please change this. The canteen food was decent average milkshake and good chips. Please change the age rating on the spa and warm pool and add more leisure lanes if this is the case I would definitely give this pool 5 stars.

Negative experience: I have been coming to these pools since I was a teenager. Ever since Move opened the new centre in East Keilor it seems they have forgotten all about this facility. The spas jet blasters haven't been working for over 3 months. The toilet and change room hygiene is sickening & worse than a third world countries. The spa has particles hair and everything else floating in it, the steam rooms are a bloody disgrace. Multiple people have been co plaining on mo ths end now and nothing is getting done. Pick up your act

Negative experience: Dear Management, In my previous post you boldly replied undermining my statements and pretty much denying my accusations. Now please note, if my review wasn't the truth, it wouldn't have got 4 other people giving it the thumbs up. However let's skip that & have a look at these photos, As you can see the spa's entire side isn't operating and this has been the case for quiet some time now, almost 8 Jets are out. Then please refer to the photos of the change & washrooms. Now please advise me if this looks like it is washed regularly? On Thursday night, 7 people had to ask your staff almost 4 times to wash out the steam room due to its disgusting state, and we still got nowhere. Then another swimmer got up grabbed the hose and washed out the room himself. If we look at other posts we can also see I'm not the only one who has brought up these issues.
Fantastic experience: My daughter absolutely loves the wonderful team of staff in the creche here. They offer both childcare and occasional care, the room is really large and always set up with lots of toys and activities for the kids and they have a great outdoor play area. I really like that the creche is open long hours. I'm also very impressed by the huge timetable of group fitness classes they offer, lots of variety to pick from daily.

Negative experience: I have been a member since 2yrs and never had any issues but from last 3 months they have shut the steam room but I am still paying for it and it’s still not working.

Positive experience: The pool is great spa needs to be updated.The dry room is great and steam room needs Eucalyptus spray and some of the men there needs to wear Proper bathers not Jocks Overall it’s a great place

Positive experience: The swimming facilities are great, but I have a child who has a disability and the changing rooms for him are not suitable. The changing bed has been out of use for well over a year and its difficult to change him on the floor. Thank you and sorry

Negative experience: I disappointed my son 11 next month he 12years old we joined in on Monday on Wednesday he got swimming lesson I want to use the reformer class but the staff stopped me. Why didn't tell me before I joined. So wasn't my fault I have to cancel the membership but they told me have to pay 2 weeks. I can't use the services why do I have to pay? I would like to ask managers help me this I very appreciate it.

Reformer Pilates is available on our MOVE Silver and MOVE Gold membership levels. If you joined on a MOVE Bronze, Aquatic or Health Club only membership, then you don’t get access to Reformer Pilates classes. Negative experience: Facility is dirty, rundown, and there is a lot of visible mould in the pool and spa. Changerooms were so dirty that I opted to go home without using it. Staff are not trained for an emergency or with cultural awareness. We had an incident were 2 patrons were physically and verbally abusing people in the pools, with some of our friends being violently hurt. Police took a long time to come and in the meantime, staff were nowhere in sight and we were made to figure out how to keep ourselves safe for over 40mins. Horrible experience and I will never be going back.

Positive experience: I usually go to maribynong for a swim, but someone recommended me to come here for a change or scenery. The Staff member at front desk (blonde girl) was super helpful, as it was my first time at the center, I had a few questions, and she was happy to help. Facilities were clean, masks were being worn. the only thing that bummed me out was the spa wasn’t working, I mean i could have called to check, but why would I do that? I’d just assume it’s working. Lost a star because of that, as it was one of the main reasons I went there.

Fantastic experience: Went in and signed up for a membership today. The staff (Rebecca and Tara) were fantastic. Rebecca showed me around, talked me through the pricing, and made me a good EOFY deal. A lot cheaper than Anytime Fitness - no upfront fees, and a cheaper weekly fee (for a Bronze concession at least), and no lock-ins, just a 14-day cancellation period. And the facilities are much bigger. Really great customer experience.

Fantastic experience: I visit the indoor pool here and the swimming area is clean and surprisingly quiet compared to other local pools. You can do laps in your own lane and if it's too busy, people are courteous. I also like that the centre doesn't run many classes, so the lap pool is usually free. Some other pools have classes so you have to keep checking to see if there are any lanes available. The actual pool is clean and although it's only 25m, it's great for doing some laps.

Negative experience: I have to change my review from 5 to 2 Stars, as for the last 3 months or so, the shower water temperature is all over the place. Most of the time its its Room temp and sometimes all you can get is cold. One time I actually had to go home for a shower because of this. I've emailed the centre (no reply) about the issue, spoken to many staff (who are aware of the issue) but it doesn't get fixed! I can't stand it anymore and I go to East Keilor instead. It certainly didn't used to be like this I can't understand why it wouldn't be fixed along with the broken shower Cubicle lock.
Hi Adrian - we’re sorry to see you’ve changed your review.We continue to log shower temperature issues with Council. Positive experience: Heaps of space and facilities. The extended open hours in the first half of the week is great as well. Would be awesome if it was to 11pm every night or even better, 24 hours. Bathrooms could do with a renovation which would be my biggest issue with it - otherwise enjoying my experience so far :) so many facilities and exercises to choose from. And there's always friendly staff around to talk to.

Negative experience: Don't bother going here if you have a baby, your choices are ramps of closed pools, getting kicked out of "too hot" pools or give your baby hypothermia in the lap pool.
Negative experience: Worst customer service from the staff to the manager unprofessional, absolutely disrespectful staff at the swimming section Think twice if you wanting to join this place is waste of money and time As my son used to go there for more than 3 years and they told me your son doesn’t have any account in our system while they take out money from my account !!!!! It’s absolutely terrible Also the manager is absolutely unprofessional, Definitely leaving this place and not recommended to everyone

Negative experience: Attended with young children this morning ONLY to be told that the pool was closed until 12pm, and then only open to lane swimmers, and NOT to children for the normal free play session. How disappointing. I then contacted other local pools, and was advised they had no such restrictions in place. Well done AVLC, on imposing meaningless and arbitrary limits that have nothing to do with social distancing, and serve only to prevent families from bringing little ones. The fault here does not lie with the customer facing junior staff on reception, as it was clear they were very embarrassed having to explain this non sensical policy to me, but rather, with management at the Centre. My message to Management: Please share with all of us what specific Vic government regulations you are following here, and what health orders. It doesnt make sense The story ended well courtesy of Brunswick Baths on Dawson, who instead offered a great, fuss free experience
Hi DomenicThank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you were unaware that the centre’s aquatic facilities were unavailable for use on Saturday morning between 8 am and 12 pm. As per the State Governments restrictions a limit of only 100 people are permitted in our Aquatic Pool Hall resulting in access being restricted on Saturday morning while our Learn to Swim Program is running. All changes to our normal operations and the restrictions that we are currently operating under can be found on the Coronavirus Updates pages on our website. Next, is about facilities which include both gym and the pool. The area is fully fully equipped and it gets even better after renovation. You can easily find heaps of parking spots in this centre and you’ll never ever have parking issue.

Fantastic experience: Attended a Reformer Pilates class here recently on a trial and I couldn’t rate my experience higher! Awesome class, amazing instructors who genuinely care and guide you through the lesson. Unlike some places, the instructor personally walked me through each position to ensure I was on track. I am a beginner and this helped me immensely throughout the rest of the class. Very satisfied. Will definitely be back for more!

Fantastic experience: Great facilities, and lovely staff. Would love the gym to have 24/7 access like some other leisure centres. Pools are great, wish there was a deeper pool as they only go to 1.5m in depth (lap pool only). But either way, for what it is - I am a happy member

Negative experience: Why do you deduct my money when you stop business?
Negative experience: We have our phones and wallet stolen from the lockers and they didn't do anything to help. They know this situation is repetitive and they haven't done anything.
Hi Richard, We understand this was not a desirable experience. As management we can assure you that these types of incidents are taken seriously. I'm sorry you felt that nothing was done to help, I can assure you the staff at the time immediately escalated the incident after trying to gain as much information from you as possible. Positive experience: At the moment, the group timetable appears to have been reduced significantly. The reason I signed up was because of the great timetable choices however now they are limited, in particular, CX works which is such a shame. Just because there are fewer members in the class it doesn't mean the class doesn't have the same regulars going week in week out. please bring back the other classes (especially CX) otherwise unfortunately I will definitely take my membership elsewhere.

Negative experience: Random membership fees. I was given 3 days free trial but $ 50 membership, one week later my sister paid $ 50 membership two weeks free plus personal trainer for free. My wife paid $ 10 membership fee plus two weeks free. Took a friend they proposed $ 10 membership fee plus seven weeks free. Things don't get fixed quickly hot water showers handle near the sauna got fixed after 3 weeks, the scale was out of order for a week, at moment the jets in the pool not working, has been 2 days, but they're still charging me the full weekly rate. I 'm stuck with the membership commitment for 3 more months than I will be moving somewhere else

Negative experience: Our experience with our son's swimming lessons has been very poor. The time and day of our lesson was changed last year with nothing more than an email to let us know, one of the teachers had no knowledge of teaching infants (parents in the lesson had to suggest activities and songs), and there is no waiting list to move up to the next class so it seems that people are only moved up if they happen to ask at the exact time that a spot becomes available. We have repeatedly been told that someone would call us to discuss but have never been contacted. We are extremely frustrated with how poorly the swimming school is run and the lack of care shown to paying members.

Positive experience: Great facilities, especially love the extra big and hot sauna. Gym facilities are also amazing with 3 different areas, a breezy outdoor area, main area and another separate room that holds classes but is available for use when not occupied. The equipment is awesome and there is a wide range from multiple kettle bells, heavy ropes, all the traditional equipment and more. Lockers are also available for members. Although I will say the place is quite a maze!

Negative experience: Staff is very unprofessional and talks to you in very rude and intimated manner. Now cancelled my membership, let’s see if they stop charging money or will just keep taking it. P.S. yes, my account was charged after cancellation and I had to chase my money.
Positive experience: Big gym and leisure centre with a wide range of machines, swimming pool, Sauna and spa. However it is not very clean. The gym machines had a lot of dust and the floor mats were not appealing to use.
Positive experience: Good facilities... but the kids pool is not heated and the others are. Don't see the logic in that especially if you have a toddler you don't want to be freezing in water
Negative experience: DO NOT GO HERE. Price has gone up despite there being no indoor showers or toilets ?! They even made me pay $3 for a locker. The entree fee was $14. Go to another local pool . Their entries are less than $10 and you won't be charged for a locker. Extremely disappointed.
Negative experience: Way overpriced for a public facility. There are much nicer pools around and newer which charge less. Dont get a membership unless youre happy paying an additional month after you cancel.
Positive experience: The toilets are porta poddies as they are doing revovations. It's not a bad centre, the pools are fine. They looked to only have one lifeguard on and he couldn't see everyone for one place.
