Waves Leisure Centre: Opinions

Negative experience: Not what I was expecting. I know waves has a lot of different pools and facilities, but I was shocked their only lap pool was a 25m. I went on Monday morning hoping to do some lap pool swimming. When I arrived the lap pools were laced with old men taking up all of the lanes, and going at a very slow speed (even in the “fast lane”) making it very hard to get any kind of exercise done without one of them bashing into my head. The changing rooms were outdated and had no privacy and it costs 2 dollars extra to “rent” a locker. I was shocked I wasn’t shown any of the facilities before paying. There was no communication when I arrived. Would only recommend for families, and old men, but if you’re 18-35, or have any athletic ability in the slightest, give it a skip.

Positive experience: Pool is amazing. Sauna is always pleasant to go to, however some of the staff members are incredibly rude. I was at Waves for the holidays and saw the big inflatable at the waves pool. I couldn't get up and the lifeguard instead of helping, encouraging or even just doing nothing she just made fun of me with her other life guard friends. I've been going regularly and it doesn't seem like they work there anymore, but the fact those people even got to work there for a second is sad. Great place, foods pretty nice and some of the staff there are actually nice and don't make fun of my weight. I go here with my friends and have a good time. I recommend but if you are a parent with a child make sure you're also watching them.

Negative experience: Male trainer in the gym section has a shocking attitude. Extremely rude. 0 social skills. I wish I didnt have the annual membership so I wouldn’t have to see his face again.

Waves Leisure Centre

Hi Ricky,
We apologise for the negative experience you encountered, and your feedback is important to us. If you could provide further details to the gym supervisor at Waves, we can then follow up directly with the staff member to make the gym space a positive one.

Fantastic experience: The community facilities are well-equipped, where you can enjoy sports activities, including swimming, fitness, hot springs, and saunas.

Fantastic experience: Love this place such friendly people & enjoy sparking up conversations in the sauna to help me get the through the time easily. I enjoy saunas as they are so good for you but is hard to stay in the necessary time needed to cleanse when it’s quiet. Great place to meet here too… so welcoming for someone from out of town. So clean & friendly vibe makes it more comfortable as a woman going there solo

Negative experience: ⭐ ZERO STARS if I could. FAMILIES AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE! ⭐ The staff, lifeguards & the Manager Luke at this pool are an absolute disgrace. They should all hang their heads in shame. Today, on Fathers Day, of all days, YES you read that right, on FATHERS DAY, my kid and I were happily tossing around a soft rubber ball in a little section of the pool— something the rules clearly allow (the policy only bans HARD balls). Nothing was disruptive or unsafe at all. Absolutely no other co-users or guests of the pool took issue with a father and son playing catch with a soft ball. Instead of using an ounce of common sense, MULTIPLE staff (3 of them including the manager Luke) swooped in like bullies on a power trip, spoke to us with shocking rudeness like we were doing something terribly wrong, and threatened that we either comply or leave. I explained to the manager that this wasnt our first time here, we are return customers and there were never any issues with the exact same ball on any occasion. I also tried to explain to management, that the dive sticks that are purchasable at the facility (other kids were throwing them in the pool) were indeed much more solid, harder and weighed considerably more than our harmless soft rubber ball. They refused to perform a basic "squeeze test" to compare the 2 items upon my request. After logic prevailed over them, the staff adopted a victim mentality & tried to turn the tables by ganging up on a Father and Son, accusing me of being argumentative, after just getting my point across that no policy is being broken. The Manager Luke's words to me infront of my 6 year old child were, "I've explained myself to you and you're still yapping". We were in utter disbelief the way we were being spoken to & treated. This place absolutely destroyed a Fathers Day moment & they were more interested in flexing authority than creating a family-friendly environment. It was pathetic, cruel, and completely out of line. The way they treated us, as frequent paying customers was disgusting — no empathy, no decency, no professionalism whatsoever. If you want to be publicly humiliated infront of on-lookers, & see your kids humiliated and your family time ruined, this is the place for you. Worst experience I’ve ever had at a community facility. We will not be returning here and I vehemently urge other families to think twice before coming here. No wonder there are so many bad reviews of this place inparticularly about Staff.

Negative experience: I have been a regular visitor to your center for several years and have always appreciated the facilities and services provided. However, I would like to bring to your attention a recurring issue that continues to impact the quality of the sauna experience. Each time I visit the sauna, it is often disturbed by loud conversations and debates among other guests. While I understand that socializing is natural, the sauna is intended to be a quiet space for rest and relaxation. Many people, including myself, come specifically to unwind and enjoy some peaceful, silent time — something we pay for and truly value. I’ve noticed that stickers have recently been placed reminding guests to respect time limits in the sauna, which is a great initiative. I kindly suggest that a similar approach be taken to promote quiet behavior and silence in the sauna area. A clear notice asking guests to remain silent would be a helpful and respectful way to maintain the tranquil atmosphere that a sauna is supposed to provide. Those who wish to have conversations can always do so in other areas of the facility that are more appropriate for talking. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I truly hope that this small change can be implemented to help all guests enjoy a more relaxing experience.

Waves Leisure Centre

Dear Evgeny,

Thank you for your continued support and for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are pleased to hear that you’ve appreciated our facilities and services over the years and we’re glad you noticed the recent signage regarding time limits.

We also appreciate your feedback regarding the sauna environment. Your observations about the importance of maintaining a quiet and peaceful atmosphere in the sauna are both valid and important. We understand that many of our guests, like yourself, seek the sauna as a space for relaxation and tranquillity. Based on your suggestion, we will work with our communications team to look into placing clear and respectful signage in the sauna area to encourage guests to maintain a quiet environment.

Thank you once again for your constructive feedback, your input helps us do just that. If you have any further suggestions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Negative experience: Hygiene is on lowest level, at sauna especially. No cleaning under sits as it’s impossible for staff to reach there. Floor in sauna very wet, people are squeezing their wet towels on floor but staff pays no attention to this. Staff showing no interest whatsoever in what goes on. Manager is rude and shows ,,I don’t care’’ attitude.

Waves Leisure Centre

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. We sincerely apologize for the experience you’ve described — it’s certainly not the standard we aim to uphold. Cleanliness and customer care are top priorities for us, and it’s clear we’ve fallen short in this instance.

We will review our cleaning procedures, especially in the sauna area, to ensure all spaces — including under the seats — are properly maintained. We will also address the behaviour of both staff and management to ensure a more attentive and respectful environment for all guests. We hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a much better experience in the future.

Negative experience: Serious complaint about staff misconduct and discrimination. I attended this facility recently and was appalled by how I was treated by a staff member named Kai. He aggressively targeted me for wearing underwear in the pool area, despite other patrons wearing far more revealing swimwear such as speedos. His reasoning kept shifting — first claiming it was because my swimwear didn’t have a drawstring, then implying it was inappropriate because of children being present. Meanwhile, older men were wearing minimal swimwear without any issue or intervention. Kai proceeded to stand at the sauna door with it open, trying to force me to leave. When I calmly refused, as no actual policy had been broken, he escalated the situation by threatening to call the police, which was completely unnecessary and highly intimidating. The police never came because there was no legitimate reason for his actions. Upon leaving, I requested to see the official swimwear policy. Kai was unable to provide any written documentation and instead gave vague explanations about “appropriate swimwear.” This is unacceptable — policies should be clear, written, and enforced fairly across all guests, not arbitrarily interpreted by one staff member. This experience left me feeling harassed, publicly embarrassed, and discriminated against. His behavior was unprofessional, confrontational, and completely inappropriate for someone representing this facility. I expect that management will take this complaint seriously and review Kai’s actions, as this kind of conduct reflects very poorly on the business. I am considering filing a formal complaint with higher authorities if no action is taken. Staff like this should either be retrained or reconsidered for employment if they cannot treat all patrons fairly and respectfully.

Waves Leisure Centre

Dear Jak,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns.

We take all feedback seriously, especially when it involves the conduct of our staff and the comfort and dignity of our guests.

Regarding our swimwear policy, we would like to clarify that:
All patrons are required to wear appropriate swimwear made specifically for aquatic use.

Underwear, including briefs or boxers, is not permitted in the pool or sauna areas for hygiene and safety reasons. This policy is in place to ensure water quality and to maintain a consistent standard for all guests.

That said, we recognize that this policy must be communicated clearly and enforced consistently. We are currently reviewing how this policy is presented to guests and how our staff are trained to handle such situations.

We sincerely regret that you felt harassed or discriminated against, and we are committed to taking the necessary steps to prevent similar experiences in the future.

This includes:
→ Reinforcing staff training on respectful communication and de-escalation.
→ Ensuring our policies are clearly displayed and accessible to all patrons.

For a copy of our Conditions of Entry, please see the following link to our website: https://kingstonactive.com.au/files/Kingston%20Active%20-%20Conditions%20of%20Entry.pdf

Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. Your feedback is helping us to consistently improve.

Negative experience: So dirty and poorly maintained. Hygiene is terrible and nobody takes a shower before entering the pool. Showers, dressing rooms, and toilets are in awful condition: very smelly, dirty, with puddles, hair, and rubbish everywhere. Everything is also very old and clearly needs renovation, but even that would be bearable if it was at least clean.

Waves Leisure Centre

Hi Yana,
Thank you for your feedback. We will pass your concerns on to our cleaners and operational teams to address these issues promptly. If there is something specific on the day of your visit please see our Customer Service Team directly so we can rectify immediately. We aim to make your next visit with us more enjoyable.

Fantastic experience: Consistently helpful staff and excellent value for memberships and kids lessons

Sanja 6 months ago

Negative experience: Hygiene on low level. Lifeguards are not pleasant. They are chasing parents telling them not to use phone even though child ( 6 years old) is next to them in baby pool ( 30cm) . Also, I was in spa pool while my 6 years old is dressed, sitting on chair 1meter from me and they asked me to leave pool. They mostly follow some policies and do not use pleasant approach and brain logic. One thing is someone in sauna who doesn't look at child and another is parent who is in pool talking to child who is sitting on chair next to pool. It is not relaxing, looks like parents are there to be lessoned by another kids ( " lifeguards")

Waves Leisure Centre

Hi Sanja,

Thanks for taking the time to give your feedback, if there is something specific you are referring to in regard to hygiene you can speak to the Duty Supervisor on the day of your visit so we can rectify any cleaning issues.

Regarding supervision of children around water, this is an important issue that lifeguards take very seriously, and we adopt the Lifesaving Victoria Watch Around Water policy. There is a blanket rule that if you are supervising children under 10 you need to be “constantly” and “actively” supervising your children which means not using a phone or laptop. The policy also states that parents / guardians must position themselves to have a clear view of the child with no physical or structural barriers between them and the child / children, hence who we do not allow you in the spa/sauna/steam room when supervising a child under 10.
These rules are only designed to keep children safe in the centre and we appreciate parents’ assistance with adhering to these rules.
Regards, Waves Management

Fantastic experience: Love this place! Great facilities and the wave pool is amazing! Would definitely recommend, especially in summer!

Negative experience: How can you call it WAVES when the actual waves only happen once every 30 minutes for about 3 minutes each time. Very dissapointing. They should be every 10 minutes like they are at Wet n Wild. Also the lifeguards are useless. I saw 2 instances of groups of rough boys (on 2 separate visits) intimidating and splashing other swimmers, and both times that I mentioned it - the life guards just shrugged it off... Clearly they are not trained to give a shit.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this place! Adele and her staff were absolutely amazing from start to finish. I met Adele for a walkthrough before booking the center for my daughter’s birthday party, and she was so helpful, showing me the two available rooms and explaining all the details. She even offered BBQ facilities and tables and chairs setup, which was perfect for our needs. On the day of the party, both the kids and adults had a fantastic time. I asked the front desk staff if we could extend by another hour because no one was ready to leave, and they were incredibly accommodating and kind about it as there were no other bookings after us. Our guests had a blast, and many said it was the best pool party ever and will book for the kids birthday party as well! A huge thank you to all the staff and lifeguards, for helping make our daughter's birthday wish come true. It was truly a memorable and fun experience!

Negative experience: Take your kids to swimming lesson on the weekend be careful You kid might NOT SPACE GET IN TO THE POOL We been taking our kids there for 5 years, my 3 years boy is about to swim with the teacher, with those little spot can’t really fit 4 kids in but 2 ladies were sitting on kids swimming spot and talking to each other, the ladies and the teacher doesn’t care about my kid can’t get in to the pool. I talked to the reception, she was very rude, instead of trying to help me out but ask me change the swimming lessons to Monday-Friday if I think is too squishy. For that little spot they allow parents to sit in the pool is sooooooooo wrong, we drive 30 minutes there pay the fee watching 2 ladies sitting there talking to each other and my kid have no room to go in to the pool.

Waves Leisure Centre

Hi Farrugia,
Could you please contact us on 95597111 so we can get some more details on the incident outlined below, this way the Aquatics Supervisor can follow up directly.

Negative experience: Only 3 lanes available for laps, and then lanes sitting empty with ‘swimming lesson’ signs.

Waves Leisure Centre

Hi Chloe,
We advertise our lap lane availability through tour website, so swimmers know before they attend if there is limited space. The lifeguards may be setting up for a booking or take a little longer to take lane signs down after a booking has finished but if you believe the lane signs are wron, please speak directly to the lifeguards or the duty supervisor of the centre on the day. They can explain reasons behind this or fix the lanes if they are marked wrong.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Jill Holmes 9 months ago

Negative experience: I had a very disappointing experience at Waves a few days ago, which has unfortunately turned what should have been a positive and encouraging outing into a confidence-damaging event for my son. He wanted to practice swimming a full lap in the 25m pool in preparation for his upcoming swim carnival. After completing the lap in the slow lane where no one else was and attempting to exit the pool in the deep end (as he couldn't do a second one), a lifeguard confronted us with a tirade of criticism. She accused me of not supervising him (despite me actively watching the entire time) and said he wasn’t a strong enough swimmer for the deep end as he couldn't complete 2 laps. While I understand the importance of strict safety rules in an aquatic environment, I felt this situation was handled in an unnecessarily heavy-handed and aggressive manner. The female lifeguard’s tone was shocking—both towards my son and myself - far from the kind of constructive or supportive approach I’ve experienced at other aquatic centres (or in any other retail environment for that matter). This has sadly impacted my son’s confidence, and now he doesn’t even want to go near a pool. Other centres I’ve visited have managed to strike a good balance between maintaining safety and treating customers with respect and friendliness. This is something Waves needs to reflect on seriously (based on the number of similar reviews highlighting the same issue), as it has unfortunately left us with no desire to return.

Shae Howson 1 year ago

Negative experience: I took my children here today for a school holiday activity..... Son 10 years old in squad level..... 8 year old that's had lessons since 2 years old. Would certainly not recommend unless your in the water with your child. Within minutes myself and children were spoken to and targeted about ages, my ability to supervise ( even though I was leaning on the rail 3 MTRS away from my children, on the phone for a mere 1 minute). Another staff member then approached to apologise with contradictory information as to what I was able to do whilst my children were swimming...... I had a seat directly next to the swimming pool for the whole duration of our stay except for when the kids had hot chips, as the jumped back in and I was moving my seat back to that position, I was again approached asking that I not send a text message. Another staff member approached me apologising for the miscommunication between life guards regarding my 7 year old being able to stay in the shallows and not even being able to have a foot in there. Absolutely intimidating and ridiculous..... Another staff member approached me to say I hope you and your family are having a good time.... I was so infuriated, m up kids were concerned the whole time. I would definitely not recommend and will not be going back there.

Waves Leisure Centre

Hi Shae,Thank you for providing feedback and we are disappointed to hear you had a negative experience at Waves.Watch Around Water Supervision rules are aged based and for safety, children under 10 years old must have an adult in the water, within arm’s reach whilst the waves are in operation. Once the waves finish, children 5-9 years without an accompanying adult can return to the water. If your child stays in any part of the shallows while the waves are in operation, you must remain within arm’s reach of them at all times.Mobile phones are a huge distraction for parents and the lifeguards must be proactive in educating parents of the risks of taking your eyes of your kids around water.Apologies for any miscommunication in regard to these rules, we will make sure lifeguards are giving consistent information to all patrons, however these rules are all in places for the sole purpose of children’s safety around water.

Alberto Polintan 1 year ago

Positive experience: Has synthetic waves from 10:30 am or so. Keep an eye on your kids if under 10, the lifeguards will find you! Admin is finicky and bureaucratic. Run by the local council so be fluent in Karen when booking classes, updating classes and generally understanding how things work here. It's never the same and differs depending on who you deal with. Swim school closes at 12:30 on Saturdays.

Negative experience: Hi Jenny, your technician arrived yesterday morning, on time, very efficient, friendly and helpful. My home is 125 years old and not built for modern appliances, this did not bother him. He completed replacing the filter and cleaned up after himself within the half hour, checked that the system was working correctly and answered all my questions. I am very satisfied with my. Negative experience: Staff could have mentioned on the way in you actually close fifteen minutes earlier than your close time. Effectively cutting my time in half!

Waves Leisure Centre

Hi Che, apologies this was not communicated to you upon arrival, staff will be reminded that this is important to let customers know as they arrive. We do have to close the aquatic areas (pools, spa, sauna and steam room) 15 minutes prior to the centre closing time, to give patrons time to dry off, get changed and collect their belongings before the centre can close at the scheduled time.

Fantastic experience: Reflecting on the past two years, I have been absolutely thrilled to witness my daughter's remarkable growth in her swimming journey. She has transformed into a confident little swimmer, and I credit much of her progress to Waves Leisure Center and the outstanding instruction provided by Isla, Ada, and Rochelle. Their expertise and ability to connect with my daughter, have played a pivotal role in nurturing her skills and confidence in the water. My daughter has formed a special bond with her instructors, holding them dear to her heart. Their lessons have consistently been a highlight of her week, and it's clear that their influence on her goes beyond just swimming techniques. Their dedication and commitment to her progress have made a significant impact, and for that, we are immensely grateful. I wholeheartedly recommend Waves Leisure Center to any parent seeking a nurturing and effective environment for their child's swimming development. The exceptional instruction provided by Isla, Ada, and Rochelle, coupled with the supportive atmosphere of Waves, have truly made a difference in our daughter's swimming journey.

Positive experience: Disappointing service level for a party. You now just hire the room but no one cared to show us to the room or tell us what to expect of the day or guide us on anything at all. We got there 15 minutes early to be told we couldn’t access the room for another 5 minutes so we waited outside the empty room even though no one was in it. For the life of me I can’t understand why.. There was then an ‘incident’ where the waves pool & adjoining pools had to be shut down. No one came to talk to us & when staff in the office were asked when the pool would be open again, a vague answer was given. I had to remind them there was a party of kids who I now needed to entertain so a more specific reopening time would be appreciated. There was nothing to clean dishes or benches with - yuck. Kids at least had fun but don’t expect any customer service or caring.

Fantastic experience: Excellent establishment, the wave pool is good though keep in mind it only runs for 5 minutes every 30 minutes. Positive experience: Good but need improvements My family went there for my brothers birthday, it’s great. But when you enter, the smell is horrible. Chlorine chlorine chlorine! And the pool water in the shallow areas is very hot, like super hot. But when taking shower, the hot water doesn’t work, like not at all. When you switch open the hot water bar, it first gives you warm water then it goes ice cold, making it impossible to have a good shower. Seriously what is the point of having a hot water switch if the water that comes out is ice cold? Also, the shower need a bit of clean up, stickers, hair and dirt on the floor… Over all this place is great just need to improve the following - better air ventilation (heat and chlorine) - cleaner bathrooms - fix hot water system

If you're an adult wanting to have a function here they will not assist you. Thanks waves for ruining what would have been a childhood dream come true. I've added a photo just to show how ridiculous they were being.

Positive experience: BEWARE when organising kids parties, Waves do not offer refunds or credits on deposits or full payment. I called over 2 weeks prior to the party to cancel due to half the party having to attend a basketball final. I was told by their very friendly and what I thought at the time were helpful staff, that I would receive a credit for the party cancellation. This felt adequate, as we were planning to use it for a casual session anway for our group once we rescheduled. I spoke to them twice and had the credit confirmed in both instances. We came another day (I informed the staff of the new date) for a casual session and was told that there was no credit in the system and that they actually DO provide refunds and I should check my bank account. Which I did. There was no refund. On the day, I had to pay for the group and am now out of pocket the original deposit. I was told on the day the customer service manager would contact me regarding the credit/refund. I didn't hear back from them so I rang them and was told that no they don't provide refunds or credits, but a manager would call me back the following day... Needless to say I'm not holding my breath... If anyone from Waves bothers to read this, perhaps consider providing refunds to customers who cancel in a reasonable time frame, as this is what I, and I think what most people, would consider theft... I understand not providing refunds within 5 - 7 days of cancellation of an event, but to not refund or even provide a credit to a customer who has done the courtesy of calling over two weeks prior to the event is disgusting and very poor customer service. You may also consider providing your staff with clear information about these policies, as clearly most of them are clueless... EDIT: The issue was resolved with customer service in the end and we were provided vouchers. Which was great. All staff really did their best and were nothing but polite, but I still stand by the fact their policies need to be reviewed and staff need to be provided correct information to save stress and headaches for customers.

Positive experience: Came here for the first time yesterday with my family. Great place to bring the kids and adequate entertainment for all ages. Only suggestion would be to have cheaper family admission and memberships to be more competitive and encourage visiting more regularly.

Negative experience: Poor frontline desk staff attitude, fewer than advertised 50 metre lap lanes on the weekend and reoccurrence of swimmers spitting in the pool. I have over the years reported swimmers spitting in the pool as a health and safety hazard (still occurring even now with Covid around). I have also asked why there were so few 50 metre lanes on the weekend. There were 3 lap lanes available this afternoon instead of the reported 5 on the waves pool website. 4 lanes taken by an inflatable castle with no kids on it and 2 with programs in them. When I went to ask staff at the front desk about it and before I could speak, I was greeted with a “what’s wrong now?” by one of them. I was then patronised by the same arrogant staff member who said that since my complaints had falling on deaf ears, I should just put up with this: spitting and lack of lanes. Lovely!

Negative experience: Nice pool but poor attitude of the young life guards. I was in the family change room showering my 3 young kids when one of the tall, young blond, male life guards came banging on the door really hard yelling we had been in there too long. My middle child had just come out and I was in there showering my youngest and eldest not even 10 minutes in and he claimed we were taking too long. We rushed out thinking the pool was close to closing but with 10 minutes to spare the pool was already covered for the night for closing and were were yelled at to clear our table. Isn't the pool supposed to close at 6pm or does the life guard have somewhere better to be?!

Fantastic experience: Very good experience. Great kids pools and a very nice wave pool. The water sprayers are a bit harsh for toddlers. The coffee shop has really good coffee and the white chocolate & mango muffins are AMAZING!

Fantastic experience: Came here for the first time tonight and loved it. Great facilities and a range of options. Sturdy lockers with easy secure access. Clean change-rooms and bathrooms! I wasn’t familiar with the use of swimming lanes and the lifeguards were super helpful with general lap swimming etiquette. I really loved the option of having the spa, sauna or steam room to go to after my swimming. Went at around 5:45 and stayed until 8pm, not overly busy like I was expecting. Nice family environment and something for everyone. Wish I lived closer!

Positive experience: Get day out with the kids and inexpensive especially if you bring your own food & drinks. It’s consistently pretty busy with lots of people (can’t say there was much social distancing), but the facilities are kept clean, lifeguard staff are vigilant and are quick to remove small unsupervised children from the water if parent or guardian are not with them (which I think is great!). Really nice indoor pool!

Positive experience: I like going here instead of Gesac even though I live 10 minutes from Gesac. It's not so busy and kids always have fun in the wave pool

Jay Locke 5 years ago

Negative experience: Getting old and in need of a renovation. Beem around for ever, if you can be bothered drive a little further to the East Bentleigh Centre and East Boundry road. The cafe is a huge rip off and it's to expensive on entry fees. Try to avoid.

A Google User 5 years ago

Negative experience: A trip back here after a few years convinced me to keep my Harold Holt Membership and drive the 30 minutes. It's heavily overcrowded now in one half and if I had to guess it's because the lap pool is absolutely frigid (thus completely empty). It's very expensive, and the concession discount is dismal. With Cheltenham being a low-income area, you'd think Kingston would pay heed to a better concession discount and provide free lockers for those of us on a pension.

Positive experience: Kids love the wave pool and little kids play area. Update 15/1/20 - kids still love it, but it was ridiculously hot in there today, either beef up the aircon or out in roof extractors

Positive experience: $2.50 spectator fee to supervise your child doing laps - seems a bit OTT! We were let in for free this time - next time we might sit in the car outside

Positive experience: Love the pool. Good for family. Awesome staff and instructor Downside is low cafeteria staff. Just one lady to serve all the customer specially on weekends when the centre becomes very busy..Please increase the staff by one in the cafe

Simon Thomson 5 years ago

Negative experience: Went to use the pool for 40 minutes while my daughter's used the gym, payed the entrance few only to find no pools available as swimming lessons were on and wave pool was being cleaned. My only option was kiddy play area or spa. If I was informed at entrance that no pools were available I would have gone for a run around the block and used my time better, overall bad experience.

Waves Leisure Centre

Hi Simon, sorry to hear you had such a bad experience and were not informed of issues with pool space upon entry. Please contact us at the Centre and we can organise you another visit. I will be sure to follow up with staff from the weekend.
