Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member at NYF on and off for 5 years now, and it’s the best gym experience I’ve ever had. Matt, the owner, is incredible - he genuinely cares about every client’s fitness journey and keeps me focused on my goals in a way that actually works. The trainers, especially Matt and Sam, are the best trainers in the area and their dynamic is great. They push me when I need it and keep me consistent, which has made all the difference. The music, the energy and the community make every workout something I look forward to. If I could give NYF 6 out of 5 stars, I would. There’s honestly nothing I would change. If you’re looking for a gym where people actually care about your progress and where you’ll feel motivated every time you walk in, this is the place. Highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym. The programming covers all bases and is suitable for beginners to advanced. The trainers are highly capable and friendly. The community is friendly, welcoming and there is a refreshing lack of ego.

Fantastic experience: I don’t usually write reviews. They’re the domain of crazies and sycophants. But for NYF, I'll make an exception. This is what a gym should be, but rarely is. A combo of old school feels and modern wisdom. Demanding workouts & caring people. No posing, no bro culture, no franchise BS. Just proper training. It’s quickly become one of my favourite places to spend time. Does that make me crazy? See above.

Fantastic experience: I've been training at NYF for a few years now and it's become such an important part of my routine. Matt has a great balance when it comes to coaching and he really cares about his members. He knows when to push you to get the best out of yourself, but also when to step back and let you go at your own pace. He's genuinely invested in everyone who trains here, always checking form, offering alternatives, and giving the right encouragement whether that's adding weight or even easing off to focus on technique. I've seen great results myself and in so many others, so I really trust his programming and advice. Another big reason why I enjoy and come to NYF is the community. The people are friendly, supportive, and welcoming, which makes it feel like such a positive and safe space for anyone regardless of your fitness level or background. Definitely recommend!

Fantastic experience: Matt and his gym have been a game changer for me, over the last 2.5 years that I've trained there. I started out having only done group circuit classes like f45, with minimal coaching, rushed exercises, and no knowledge of movement standards. Matt and his instructors have such a high standard of coaching and engagement during the classes that I'm now stuck at this gym - I can't leave (despite moving further away) because any other class I try, I now know what amazing professional coaching and programming looks like. Exercise aside, the community and people are top tier. They're welcoming to newbies and I've made friendships that go beyond the gym which is a true testament to the NYF community. Couldn't speak higher of Matt and what he's achieved at NYF.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been training with Matt at NYF for four years now, and it’s been an incredibly rewarding experience. Not only have I seen real physical progress, but I’ve also gained a much deeper understanding of strength and training. The programming here is on another level. You only need to look around the gym to see the results...it speaks for itself. Matt lays the foundation of knowledge that allows members to keep progressing, cycle after cycle. He’s coached me through powerlifting comps where I achieved numbers I never thought possible, coached us through functional fitness comps, and supported me as both a coach and a friend the whole way. The community Matt has built is unmatched and a true reflection of the dedication and passion he pours into NYF. If you want to train properly, develop a real understanding of strength and conditioning, and see your results skyrocket then this is the place for you. Simple, Effective.

Fantastic experience: I trained at Fitness First for years but had become unmotivated - with no clear direction, latent injuries, and not seeing much progress. I joined NYF about 18 months ago and am feeling excited about training again, as well as seeing results. Matt offers structured group workouts which are intelligently programmed across the week - a mix of strength, conditioning, hypertrophy, HIIT and skills work. Matt helped me overcome my fear of doing cleans (which I was doing incorrectly, it turns out). I’ve worked with many PT’s and coaches over the years and Matt is one of the best - passionate, knowledgable, goal-oriented. And he loves an 80’s playlist! One of the best aspects of training at NYF is the group training and the sense of community. I far prefer it to solo training now. The workouts are tough but somehow always fun. I highly recommend NYF and I find the experience, community and coaching are far better than at a big chain gym.

Fantastic experience: When I first joined NYF over 2 years ago, I had very little experience in a gym environment or lifting weights. Matt and his team make all levels of fitness feel welcome and take the time to coach you through movements with patience and care. Some of my favourite sessions now are the ones that require more skill, which I never imagined I’d enjoy when I first started. Fantastic experience: Running a business myself, I like to leave reviews when I experience truly outstanding service/experience, and NYF more than delivers. The team here is fantastic, led by owner Matt, who has an exceptional depth of knowledge in performance, strength, power, and aerobic training. I’ve been training for over 15 years in many different gyms, and the programming at NYF is the best I’ve seen. The coaches take the time to get to know each member personally, identifying where support is needed and guiding you to make real progress as an individual. The community and members are just as impressive, making training here an even more enjoyable experience.

Fantastic experience: Easily the best gym I’ve trained at in Sydney. Coming back to this style workout has been so enjoyable over the last year. Fantastic experience: I really enjoyed working out at this strength and conditioning gym in Darlinghurst. The trainers were great, lots of variety of workouts, and was able to see massive progress in my lifting because of them.
Fantastic experience: My partner has been going to NYF for a few years and kept trying to get me to join. I’ve never been into group training—always preferred doing my own thing at the gym. It took me two years to finally give it a try, and now I’m absolutely hooked. The program, the community, the trainers—everything is just awesome. I honestly can’t see myself going back to solo gym sessions. Being part of this gym is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Matt and his team have really taken this place to the next level!
Fantastic experience: Not only does this gym provide a safe place for both growth personally and health tailored, it provided a sense of community. As someone who has also felt "uneasy" about stepping out of my comfort zone in training, Matt and his gym provide such support and guidance through programming, 1:1, and connecting personally to all clients. The place where I am now is not where I ever thought id in my fitness journey and would recommend to anyone who is looking for a place to grow, learn and have an overall great time !

Fantastic experience: My girlfriend and I have been going to NYF for 9 months and I couldn't recommend it more highly. The variety of the sessions and the quality of coaching has resulted in me becoming the strongest I've ever been. It's also the most I've ever enjoyed training. There is a real sense of community (especially on the Wednesday and Saturday sessions) that I'm really going to miss. If we weren't moving back to the UK, there is no way we would be leaving NYF. Huge thanks to Matt and the team!

Fantastic experience: I've been going to NYF for a couple of years, and couldn't have asked for a better place. Matt puts so much passion and care into the training programs and structure, and truly cares for the community there. After coming back from an injury, both Matt and Hayley were so accommodating and the perfect balance of supportive, instructive and compassionate. There is a huge difference between NYF and a lot of the other gyms when it comes down to the technicalities of the movements and why we are doing what we are doing, and a focus on correct form. At NYF, I also gained a community, with the people who go there a testament to the space Matt has built. Couldn't recommend it more if you were looking for a place where you can make friends, train hard (and safely) and have fun. Hayley's hype up playlists were always a highlight ✨

Fantastic experience: The team at NYF are fantastic, having joined with a few niggles and lost confidence in my lifting techniques they have shown their expertise in supporting me to get moving again with confidence and pain free Under the coaching of Matt, Hayley-Ann, and Kat I've thoroughly enjoyed rejoining the gym and getting moving again! Don't be intimidated by the space everyone is so supportive and fun to workout with, you'll get to enjoy working out with a great team and fellow members and definitely won't be disappointed after your sessions
Negative experience: I would be very cautious about handing over your personal payment details to this Gym. I joined with a clear understanding that I was going away for work for 2 months, and could only do the first initial 2 weeks then need to put it on hold until I returned. After countless emails and text messages that kept deducting the funds to the pint the relationship turned sour, m then they told me I had to give 14 days notice still after deducting funds against an original agreement. I would trust this place with your personal payment details. The only way I could stop was to report to my bank.

Matt is always keeping me super motivated and encourages me towards my goals. This is why I prefer group training rather than training on my own, as I get a lot more for my time. Fantastic experience: NYF is a gym that is focused on progression of its clients - getting results through strength and conditioning classes which are programmed each 10 weeks block by Matt the owner! His coaches are hand selected and very in tune with the culture of the gym. If you want a "flog me" approach this is not the gym for you but if you want results where you will see them over time and build yourself over time with an amazing team of clients then join!! you will not be dis-appointed

The six week challenges are particularly amazing, everybody achieves such great results. Gym is always clean, great equipment and Matt provides variations for all fitness levels. Love it!!

Fantastic experience: New you Fitness is life changing. I honestly cannot rave about this gym or Matt enough. I have always stuggled with exercise but now I love going to the gym.. sometimes I miss it. Matt is the most movating trainer, he is the reason I am finally getting into shape and creating a healthy relationship with food. I have never or will ever leave that gym without feeling like I have had the best workout of my life!
Fantastic experience: I tried many studios before I discovered New You Fitness. I noticed results quickly. Matt is an excellent trainer, who combines motivation and comraderie beautifully. I love the community feel, the variation in workouts, and that the workouts are challenging whilst having achievable modifcations depending on your fitness level. He makes you work hard whilst you’re there, but in shorter time frames that don’t have you waiting around in a gym unnecessarily. I feel better than I have in a long time.

Fantastic experience: I wouldn't leave a 5 star review for nothing. Matt is seriously a kick ass trainer. Since taking NYF classes I've never been fitter! Probably why me and the 2 other girls I trained with all got pregnant straight away - within the space of 2 months! Cannot wait to have bub and get back to it!
Fantastic experience: A gym operated by a man so in love with boxing; he invested thousands of $$$$ towards a private facility; not only to train clients, however: For the eradication of the universal gym junkie mental state of panic every Monday 5pm; "Its peak hour at the gym and I have no equipment to train with oh no my day is ruined all I wanted to do was hit the bag and now I etc etc etc" Plus he's a top boxing coach!!! Training with him for almost a year!!!
Fantastic experience: Matt runs some of the best HIIT and Boxing classes I have ever done. You always get a great workout and he focuses on not just fitness but technique in both boxing and functional exercises. Just when you think the class is over he always pushes you that little bit harder which helps get results.
Fantastic experience: Have been boxing with Matt for almost a year and have loved every moment. Not too much to say that hasn't already been said, apart from the fact that I really appreciate just how invested Matt is in my development. Two examples: frequently spending time after class talking about my progress and giving me advice, without me even asking; randomly linking me videos of pro boxers executing techniques we've been working on. A brilliant trainer and a top bloke. P.S. I've done his circuit classes too. Off the chain.
Fantastic experience: About time Sydney found a proper boxing trainer who will TEACH you, and work you hard at the same time. Matt is the real deal and knows his boxing, differentiating himself from those trainers who are really no more than Pts and will get you doing star jumps mid combo. Matt brings a passion and knowledge, combined with small groups in a brand new facility. What more could you want...? Get on board now!
Fantastic experience: I have been training with Matt for close to 2 years now. At the start, I was working 16 hour days in a high-pressure corporate environment. So besides being unfit, I had a harmful posture. Matt helped me build a new body from (almost) scratch. He is a great and encouraging coach for any fitness level.

Fantastic experience: I’ve never worked harder of felt such a sense of achievement as I have being trained by Matt at New You Fitness. It’s hard work but you get real results and are motivated to do so without losing focus. All training is highly engaging and the time just flies, you never feel like you have to drag yourself to a session, you actually look forward to them. A trainer that honestly cares about you, it’s a very unique thing to find. Been training with Matt for well over a year now and have never had a better trainer! Fantastic experience: Coming from a background of zero fitness I very tentatively joined Matt at New You fitness a few weeks ago. From day one Matt has been a huge support. He has taken time out before and after sessions to help me work on my technique to make sure I was getting the most out of the sessions, given me tips to work on at home and has consistently pushed me to do better. I can safely say that signing up for that first week has been a complete game changer for me. I couldn't recommend this gym enough if you are looking for fun classes and a trainer who will take the time to really work with you.
