Jo and his beautiful dog Coco create the most welcoming, ego-free environment where you'll never queue for equipment and everyone knows your name. Jo's generous tips, feedback and encouragement - always offered with genuine care for your progress - make every session better, and his passion for helping people succeed is evident in everything he does. After years of training here, I'm devastated to be leaving the area because no other gym has ever come close to matching LIFT's sense of belonging and authentic care. If you want a place where you'll actually want to show up, this is it.

Fantastic experience: I went for a free trial because I wanted to subscribe for two weeks, but the minimum was a month, so it didn't work for me. Anyways, Joseph kindly let me try the gym, which was fantastic. I recommend it 100%.

Jo is a very friendly and encouraging owner that always says hi and wants to know how you're going. There's actual good music playing and neat wall art too! Beats all the big chains that I tried in the past hands down

My boxing coach, Jozef Maruniak took a patient and careful approach to train me to become a strong and clever boxer. His focus on technique and approach to me mastering the skills at a pace that made sure I was safe and never faced injury, saw me become a competent, disciplined boxer - he gave me a love and understanding of boxing that continues as I grow in skills and confidence. Jozef is also a patient and attentive trainer - and is 100% focused on my health, diet and wellbeing along my fitness journey - he is the best trainer I have ever worked with. Lift gym is like a second home - a place where you feel comfortable enough to go at your own pace while always being encouraged and supported along the way. Thanks to Lift's owner 'Big Joe' - the gym is fun and there's always a laugh to be had - a good way to de-stress and just be in the moment of improving your fitness - often to a killer soundtrack. Rarely do modern-day gyms have the magic ingredient - an absolutely welcoming vibe, staff that do really care about you and members who are stoked for you on your fitness journey. 20 stars!!!!

Love the playlist and art on the wall, give the overall vibes 10/10 and motivates me to work out more. Best gym so far i come across in sydney

He’s created a really peaceful and supportive environment at the gym with his friendly and relaxed approach. Always present and providing tips and tricks. The gym itself is extremely pleasant and tidy. He prides himself on hygiene and it shows - freshest smelling gym I’ve ever walked into!! Sadly I moved away but if I lived close by, without a doubt I’d be happy here long term!!

This boutique gym is specced out with everything a serious lifter needs, the owner (Jo) is a legend, and you'll get to hang out with COCO the gym dog! The space has artwork and vintage mirrors covering the walls, great music always pumping, all around immaculate vibes. Get involved!

Fantastic experience: Awesome cool vibe gym, i love the fit out, framed mirrors (could be more!), street art and equipment. Chilled out lovely gym owner Joseph and amazing personal trainer/bodyworker Sean Rigelsfit who is a wealth of knowledge of body biomechanics, musculoskeletal injuries and movement. Great place to train :) I love that there are multiple bars to hang from in front of mirrors and do calisthenics.

Fantastic experience: Awesome gym, Jo makes you feel at home straight away, always helping you out and giving you new exercises (painful ones). We used to go at peak time most days and was never too busy. Coco the dog also made the experience a little bit better!! We will definitely be returning :)

Beautifully decorated, climate control always perfect, water cooler, COCO THE PUPPY DOG, it's super pro-women, pro-health and anti-chimpanzee posturing, the owner jo really wants to make sure people have a fab time working out and getting results while leaving feeling good about themselves. I would 10/10 recommend this gym to anyone regardless of age, gender, skill/fitness level.

Fantastic experience: I had the pleasure of finding this gem during a two week stay in Sydney. I met the owner, Jo, who clearly has a passion for his business and making his members feel at home. The place cranks some poppin music that is sure to amp you up, the artwork on the walls of superheros and weight lifters is exactly the eye candy you need to get you going, and the staff is just the nicest. There is everything you may need equipment-wise and it is very clean, tidy and well-cared for. I’ve been to dozens of gyms this year alone during my travels and this one stood out as having the best vibe and character, which, when you’re trying to get motivated, is half the battle. I truly loved working out here and I give Jo props for creating this bad ** place for us gym-lovers.
