Fantastic experience: Amazing old school gym. Love training here when I’m down here visiting the area.

Fantastic experience: Amazing atmosphere and energy. Doherty’s Gym is a place that truly motivates you to train great equipment, spacious areas, and a professional, friendly staff who make you feel supported from the moment you walk in.

Fantastic experience: The employees Arion and Lola are truely amazing. I had an incident while working out and those 2 worked so well to help me out and took great care of me.

Negative experience: This gym has been in poor shape for as long as I have been coming here. Sometimes havnt returned for months and condition is still the same. Rusty ventilation, rusty equipment, lack of care and hygiene. The standard regulations that you need to run and gym is defiantly not met here.

Fantastic experience: Wanna get jacked? Hate aircon? Love an insane amount of equipment? If you’ve answered yes to any of these.. welcome home.

Negative experience: Gym is dated and lacking, as in both the building and the equipment. Oh and the owner is a little penny pitcher. The roof has been leaking for as long as I’ve been here, in all three sections of the gym. Much the equipment is rusted and a bolt away from falling apart. The gym membership comes complete without any ventilation so you’ll freeze in the winter and drip sweat in summer. Speaking of summer, the owner is so cheap that he won’t give out plastic cups for water to cut costs. What a joke

Fantastic experience: Best gym in my opinion it’s got all the equipment an weights you need for a solid work out, great crowd not to busy, it’s got a nice energy feel about it

Positive experience: Great gym in a great location. Unfortunately waiting for anybody at the front counter anytime I've been as a casual is painful, as whoever works there is too busy wasting his time tuning chick's which he'll never get to touch. Also a lot more expensive than other comparible gyms. A 10 pass card at a reduced rate might be more appealing to casual visitors

Positive experience: The stretch and core zone is on a thoroughfare next to the storage shelves It feels awkward having people walking around right next to you when doing crunches

Negative experience: Went for the 1 day trial, customer service was a bit off, lots of staring from other gym-goers. Weird vibe basically. Not as welcoming as I thought but good selection of equipment and space

Negative experience: DON'T FALL FOR THE TRAP "NO LOCK IN". I USED TO TRAIN IN THIS GYM LAST YEAR. I HAD TO SUDDENLY GO OVERSEAS DUE TO MEDICAL EMERGENCY. TO CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP I CALLED THEY GIVE ME ANOTHER NUMBER TO CALL TO CANCEL AS THIRD PARTY CANCELLATION. THEN THEY TOLD ME YOU NEED TO PAY FOR 30 DAYS. I DIDN'T GO BUT I PAID FOR 30 DAYS. THEY CLAIM THEY DON'T HAVE ANY LOCK IN CONTRACT AND THEN I HAD TO PAY FOR 30 DAYS. LAST WEEK I CAME BACK N WENT THIERE TO INFORM, FIRST THEY WERE NOT EVEN LISTENING AND KEEP COMING WITH SAME THING THAT THEY DON'T HAVE ANY LOCK IN. I REQUESTED THEY GUY AT FRONT TO FORWARD MY COMPLAINT TO THE OWNER HE TOOK MY NAME AND NUMBER BUT IT'S BEEN A WEEK, NO CALLS OR ANY RESPONSE. STOP FOOLING AND GIVING WRONG INFORMATION.

Fantastic experience: Finally my search for the perfect gym in Melbourne has ended! Open 24 hours, decent range of equipment and easy to get to location. Rarely have to sit around waiting for equipment to be free, especially outside peak hours which is a win.

Honestly thanks to Guys like Tony Doherty and Scott Goble this place has helped me turn my life around, after escaping a Toxic Environment in a Previous Gym I attended. I may have Grass is Greener syndrome, but currently being a Member of Doherty’s Gym I can assure you the grass is Just as Green as I saw it from the Perspective of being a Member of another Gym- Has NOT changed its shade of green Would HIGHLY Recommend

Negative experience: Sadly for wheelchair users and wheelchair bodybuilders (aspiring or established) this is a gym to skip. Not only is the main entrance not wheelchair accessible but attempts to contact the business about accessibility have come up with ignored responses.

Fantastic experience: Come done to Melbourne for a holiday and visited the famous Doherty’s gym. Was not disappointed. It has a hardcore and old school vibe about it all. Also met Tony himself and although he would have been extremely busy with a show he was organising and saving last minute, took the time to have a quick chat when introduced to us. What a top bloke with a top gym. Would recommend to all who travel through melb!

Fantastic experience: I got a gym membership 3 weeks ago and for a cheap price and went there everyday and I love it so much. You got the exercise in one group each like arms, chest or legs etc. This is the type of gym I would go to and I’ll recommend everybody should try it out. Well done staff

Fantastic experience: Don't forget to bring a towel!! There are so many buff people here that you'll either be overly motivated, or afraid to flex your flabby arms. Everyone's super friendly accommodating and the staff are chill. It has all the facilities you need, plus personal trainers on site. Not a lot of group classes but you'll love Doherty's if you come knowing what you want to achieve. The membership options are honestly the most flexible I've seen. Gains mate. Nothing but Gains
