Fantastic experience: I have been coming to South Pacific Health Club for over 6 months. During this time I have seen great improvement with the facilities and especially with the Burn cardio and strength circuit classes. There is also new machines for glutes from Booty Builder. Staff members are always friendly and welcoming. Special thank you to Enrico , Josh, Alastair and Joel at the circuit hybrid Burn classes and to Naomie and Matt for the RPM bike classes. keep up the great work. I can’t wait for the coming up challenges and hopefully HYROX race training soon .

Negative experience: RE-RACK YOUR WEIGHT Extremely limited equipment, and machines are always broken. There's a serious lack of variety, which makes it hard to get a complete workout. On top of that, the gym culture is very poor, members consistently leave weights scattered around, and there seems to be little to no enforcement of basic gym etiquette. If it weren’t for the convenient location, I doubt this gym would still be in business.
Fantastic experience: WOW!!! Loving the 7am class on a Monday morning at Port Melbourne. I love the instructor. Savyra. She is lovely. Excellent teacher. Having been a KX follower I will only be going to South Pacific from now on thanks to Sav. Love her. Her energy is kind and caring and is an excellent with instruction. I have been on a trial and now have decided to stay. xx

Fantastic experience: EDIT: Under new management who graciously fixed the below issues and even personally called me for my input. That my friends is stellar management! The below comments are therefore outdated. Highly recommend this gym now. Good value for money. However: - A couple of dumbbells have been missing for months—namely, a 36kg, as well as an 18kg or 16kg—and though I’ve spoken to multiple staff about it, there seems to be no intent to replace them. - A/C in top floor free weight section has been leaking for months.
Positive experience: I can’t say enough good things about the amazing team at SPHC, especially the absolute sweetheart, Ashley! From day one, they’ve been so welcoming & accommodating, always ready to assist with anything I need. There was a time when my direct debit payment didn’t go through (my bad!), but instead of hitting me with a dishonored payment fee, they were so understanding and helped me sort it out smoothly. No stress, no fuss. Just pure kindness & support! They’ve also been super flexible with my membership, whether I needed to pause it or had questions about payments. It really shows how much they care about their members. And of course, Ashley deserves a special shoutout! She’s like a little ball of sunshine at the front desk, always greeting everyone with the biggest smile. If I ever have inquiries, she makes sure I get a response quickly and she just brings such a fun, positive vibe to the gym. Honestly, the place wouldn’t feel the same without her! Big love to Ashley and the whole team for making the gym such a friendly & stress-free space!

Negative experience: It is such a shame that this shifty organisation has taken up such a prime spot along the beautiful shores of port Melbourne. South pacific health clubs port Melbourne is a gym of low quality and even lower standards. One week at this gym will cost you over 15 dollars, all for subpar old and dusty machines. Speaking of which, machine are always broken, and when inquiring with the staff of the repairs they say it will be fixed in a week. Lockers an always broken and the locks never work properly. I highly advise against this gym or the company as a whole, upon cancellation of your membership you will have to pay for 4 more weeks as a leaving notice. The gym is dusty and poorly kept, it really shows how much this company will do for a quick buck. Speaking of which, I have noticed that there are a plethora of young kids in the gym 13-14 even though it states in their terms of service that you have to be above 15 to train without supervision. I highly recommend avoiding this gym at all costs.

Negative experience: This gym is in an amazing location, but don’t be fooled, it’s awful in every other way. The equipment is a nightmare: old, outdated, and barely functional. Most of the machines are TechnoGym, which is by far the worst brand out there. Many of them are broken, and even if they’re only minor fixes, they still haven’t been repaired. The gym itself is filthy, with dirt and grime everywhere, and it’s constantly overcrowded. It’s also incredibly dark inside, with zero air conditioning, making it stuffy and unbearably hot. The smell hits you the moment you walk in, it’s clear no one is keeping up with maintenance. As for the equipment, it’s beyond disappointing. There aren’t enough machines, and the ones that are there don’t work properly or offer any real range of motion. The weight stacks are pathetic, and the benches are broken and wobbly. Everything in this place feels like it’s falling apart. If you’re looking for a solid workout, avoid this place at all costs. It’s pure rubbish from start to finish.
Negative experience: The main reason I go is that it's the closest gym to my house. There are some good classes. The staff are freindly and I'm sure doing the best they can. - But there is a lack of weight machines. E.g. Glute drive and a hip machine. - There's only 1 bench press and lat pull down so they are always busy. -Often equipment is broken for months on end. -It's a pretty dirty gym. - There's a guy that does the spin class that spend the whole class constantly shouting. He's so loud that you can hear it through the whole gym even with noise cancelling over ear headphones. - Same with the music. It's pretty bad music and super loud. Most people wear their own headphones so I don't understand why it needs to be so loud. Again you can hear it over your own music even with full noise cancelling on.

Negative experience: Very old equipments…too stinky and extremely busy. Tbey are also not strict on using their own towels makes the facilities extremely unhygienic…. And the prices are way too high compared to other gyms in Port Melbourne.

Negative experience: This gym is filthy, if they employ cleaners, it’s a mystery what they do?! The equipment is poorly maintained and the lockers pop open after 90 minutes, which is a real security issue.

Negative experience: It’s such a pity that a gym in this beautiful location is so poorly managed. The equipment is old, at some point I counted 8 elements that needed fixing. And it stays like that for weeks, if not months. (Stationary bike I was using was not fixed for at least 2 months.) Today I come in at it occurs I can’t use lockers, because they’re changing the locking system, so the lockers are unusable, without earlier notification. This is not how things should be managed for sure… Some of the staff are really lovely, but whoever manages this facility clearly doesn’t care…

However, we cannot find a membership related to this google account and so have not been able to contact you. Our lockers are being upgraded this week to a new system and we expect these to be completed by mid-June as advertised on current signage in club. Unfortunately while we were unstaffed a member has put a sign up stating do not use lockers, when actually all of our updated lockers are completely usable and in working order.

Negative experience: A lot of machines have been chronically broken for months now. Lockers are jammed in the bathrooms, and when brought up the response is ‘we’ll look into it’ or, ‘someone’s here today to look at it’, ‘this week it’s getting fixed’, but it never gets fixed. Staff are friendly, and the view is great, but that is all.

Positive experience: I like this gym! Tidy and good views. I usually go late at night and my only fault for them is the music is so loud! I like to go to train and relax after work but they have the loudest most obnoxious music playing. I can hear it over my noise canceling headphones. If they could just turn it down a bit that'd be so awesome! I like that they installed new lights but I wish they weren't so bright. All and all a decent gym. Pls turn the music down tho!
Negative experience: Overcharged my brother hundreds of dollars and has avoid refunding the amount for multiple months after admitting fault. So disappointing and unprofessional
Negative experience: Terrible customer service and horrible business ethics. The gym itself is fine, but after cancelling my membership I was continuously charged. After talking to multiple people and managers on the phone they have agreed to refund the amount. But after 6 months of constant phone calls and emails I have yet to be refunded or called back (unless I spend all day waiting around for someone to talk to me). EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED
Fantastic experience: There have been quite a few changes over the last 2 weeks, creating a wonderful environment. More positive changes to come .
Negative experience: Staff are not accountable. 7 months of continuous direct debit after after verbally, text, numerous phone calls, emails and follow ups to cancel. 7 months of charges and chasing 5 different staff members over at Port and St kilda. Their only response was you did not email us correctly and text, calls and emails was not sufficient then they says sorry we forgot to get back to you. Nothing we can do, head office won’t allow refunds over $250 after trying to cancel for 7 months. Staff are useless and irresponsible and only blame each other or send you around in circles. Very old gym with worn out equipment however i went there because of the location being within walking distance.
Fantastic experience: This fitness centre is fantastic , beautiful staff that actually care .. We have just had a new manager start a few weeks ago and has changed so many things around . Felicity cantwell and implemented her outstanding experience into our club . People that actually care and always first to ask if we need anything .. We have a diverse amount of classes to suit all ages and also to benefit members times .. Not to mention the INFRA RED SAUNA . AN EXTRA for our well being ..close to all amenities..just a beautiful gym . Guys you need to check out our SPIN ROOM TOP FLOOR ,AN AMAZING VIEW TO START OR END OUR WORKOUT ....
Fantastic experience: Great space with good equipment and trainers. Staff at reception are always helpful and friendly. It doesn’t get overly busy and it never seems to be a problem to use the equipment you want
Fantastic experience: Port Melbourne South Pacific has great Service, I really like the details of equipment info about muscles and form. It made the beginning of gym easy. They have a free safe locker system and big bathroom facilities. Shout out to employees Scott Turner who is nice and very helpful.
Fantastic experience: Reception staff friendly & helpful!! Good classes & instructors. Reformer Pilates classes are included in the membership which is a bonus.
Negative experience: No paper towels, hand dryers not working in ladies bathroom, cable machines not working so much maintenance needs doing very poor from a well known gym

Negative experience: Not a fan of this club at all..some instructors are not good and weights area is very run down with rips on weights equipment. Also very hard to get into infrared sauna. Also if you go to St Kilda book early and be prepared to pay for parking

Negative experience: Terrible customer service and agree with previous comments re being hooked into a continuous direct debit system and being charged dishonour fees like it's no tomorrow (which is outsourced so there is no way of these ever being refunded these exorbitant fees. Scott obviously knows the drill with what to say but there is no empathy.
Negative experience: Actually no starts should be given. Worst customr experience ever. They are simply a scam when you sign up for direct debit. Despite cancelling, I kept getting charged for 4 more months. I don't recommend.
Positive experience: Staff are lovely, always helpful, the gym was very accommodating during covid for freezing the accounts for long periods with no charges and no pressure as things resumed. View is second to none, but equipment in terms of weights def needs a refresh. Dumb bells are falling apart and overall just needs TLC.

Negative experience: If you are serious about your training and want to concentrate and train hard in a quiet, clean environment - I woukd not recommend South Pacific Port Melb. Management is currently taking a weak stance when it comes to re-enforving the rules. Teenage members continue to train without towels while treating the space like a playground not a place to work Management needs to do better here to prevent this gym becoming more of a joke than it already is. Go team!

Fantastic experience: Great equipment. Great spin/RPM classes and great instructors. I was only staying in Port Melbourne for a month and luckily they have a reasonably priced monthly casual membership. Thank you for making me feel so welcome.

Negative experience: Check what they direct debit you and when you cancel get it in writing. Been debiting me for almost 4 years after cancelling the memberships and with zero usage of the gym since and no communication from the gym on reactivating the memberships by direct debits, nor any communication on increases or renewal of the memberships each year and now making it difficult to even come to any agreement for a refund. It looks like after the COVID lockdowns they just switched on the direct debit again even tho the two memberships we had were cancelled before the lockdowns. Not sure if it's a manager being difficult or their boss telling them to be difficult - either way they debited without permission, renewed without communication and increased each year without communication let alone ignored the cancelation of the memberships that have never even been used!!!!!
Negative experience: If you want the poorest customer service of all time, go to South Pacific Port Melbourne. It took months to complete the cancellation of my membership, many phone calls and emails, many of which went unanswered, including speaking to the manager on Scott on multiple occasions who has provided no assistance. Nearly four months in from the beginning of the cancellation requests and I have not received my requested refund, despite being told weekly that it would be refunded "next week". This gym has extremely poor customer services, management and unethical business practices. If I could leave a 0/5 stars I would.

Negative experience: They took $25 for a casual rate from me (class was in-accurate timetable listed online) decided to not use and they never refunded me the money. Staff are so rude and unapologetic, didn't feel welcoming at all. Also classes (from the day before this was second visit) classes were really basic I don't even think the gym instructor wanted to be there or knew what he was doing

Negative experience: Overall unhelpful & liars. Hey listen the sales guys are liars and will tell you they're putting special deals together that they just got approved from their manager. It's the normal deal they have. Also they are not proactive about getting classes booked in or organised.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming to this club for almost 3 years already and I gotta say that it has been always such a nice play to workout but even much more nice and fun lately due of the new stuff that attends the counter at the front ( Ella and summer) that welcomes you and motivates you when coming in :)

Fantastic experience: SPHC Port Melb is Gold ! Starts with the fantastic team of Ella, Summer and Brylee who are extremely welcoming, provide excellent service and create a great vibe. Facilities are terrific - cycling studio is well set up with up to date bikes in top environment, bay views and excellent motivational instructors. Plenty of variety with weights, equipment, machines and classes. The best gym I could find in the Bayside area.
Fantastic experience: Was a member here for years until I moved out of the area. Moved back to the area and the decision was a no brainer. Easy (free) parking, literal bay view from the cardio equipment, accommodating and friendly staff; Ella and Brylee (club manager) took care of my membership and accommodated what I needed perfectly. Gym itself is huge, well zoned, contains everything you need from free weights, multiple group fitness studios, machine weights and compound lifting equipment. Friendly community, familiar faces and met plenty of nice people during my regular training time slot. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I was a gym member for about 3 to 4 years before I had to end my membership when I left Port Melbourne. It was so hard to leave this gym. And when I trialled other gyms, none could meet the standard of SPHC! The team are always friendly and happy, especially the trainers that taught classes. The team is what really makes this gym. Normally there is turnover with instructors but this wasn't the case here. The equipment and facilities are all very new with great views of the ocean and city (from the third level spin room). Aside from Virgin active, there aren't many gyms that offer reformer pilates. This gym includes reformer pilates at a very affordable membership rate. And I love that the gym app syncs with all of your classes and the technogym equipment.

Fantastic experience: Great location right on the beach. Friendly members and a real sense of community with like minded people. Modern facilities and good environment for working out. Cycling room has IC7 bikes and RPM is the most fun in a hard workout. Everyone that does Robs class will be addicted.

Fantastic experience: Great value gym with bay views through the front windows, never have to wait for deadlift platforms, bench or dumbbells. Great management and customer service team (Ella and Brylee), very friendly, helpful and knowledgable on fitness. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Great gym. Attended this as a casual visit. Gym has great facilities with a unique style interior. It is complimented with great views of the beach which can be enjoyed while using the gyms cardio machines. I also enjoyed meeting a couple team members, Club manager Brylee and PT Andrea who were very helpful and friendly.
Fantastic experience: I have been a member of South Pacific Health Club, Port Melbourne for over a year and I love it. The staff are always welcoming, friendly and fun to interact with. The facility itself is also great, with an excellent range of weights, cardio equipment and space for classes etc. All of that comes with a beach view. Amazing place.
Fantastic experience: South Pacific is great, the feel around the place is always really nice and warm. The staff and people that go to South are all really welcoming and it’s become my most enjoyable few hours of the day going to South. The equipment and gear is all well-maintained and kept up to date and is a perfect gym for anyone, regardless of age and stage.
Positive experience: This gym is good. The staff are so lovely and it's generally a clean and looked after gym. The only watchouts are that there is no data signal upstairs which makes spotify/following an online program difficult. They don't give out the WiFi password which is a shame. After school hrs can be a bit of a pain too with so many school kids that gather at the machines but if you avoid that time, like I say, it's a good gym.
Fantastic experience: One of the best gyms I have ever been to. Great facility with lots of equipment and some of the friendliest staff you will ever meet! Not to mention the amazing beach view that you will never find anywhere else. Special thanks to Ella for making me look forward to coming to the gym every day :)
Fantastic experience: Having washing machine and tumble dried my 24 access card, the delightful receptionist replaced my card without charging me for what was obviously my fault. It’s gestures like this, that make this particular gym stand out form others. Couple this with 24hr access to a proper fully equipped gym and you have a great place to train and a guaranteed beautiful smile upon arrival when you’re lucky enough to go during staffed hours. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: On entry to the healthy lifestyle of south pacific port Melbourne u r greeted warmly by a lovely staff member then u go to the first level where it's like arriving at Santa workshop all the hustle and bustle of streppers treadys and xtrainers while keeping enough distance then we get to the weights area where my trainer Chris Coleman makes putting in the hard work fun strange but yes the u get to the next level where u can spin it out and put in the yards while looking at the magical beach while we r in winter cold

Fantastic experience: Recently challenged myself to an epic 90 min spin class with the lovely Amanda and Robb raising money for the NSW & QLD Flood Appeal and it was AMAZING! Talk about a super energised session with 2 legends, banging tunes and a bonus seaside sunset! Super keen for the club to consider more of these events especially when raising funds for a good cause.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic place! Staff are super welcoming and Friendly and unlike other gyms, don’t give you the car salesmen feel, when it comes to signing up and more Importantly - look after the customer :) Dealt with brylee - really friendly, looked after me after my bad experience with The Stkilda sea baths - the gym is great and has lots of different stations/machines - If your considering joining Stkilda - drive 4 more mins up the road and join with these guys :) You will be treated like a customer :)

Fantastic experience: Hands down the best gym I’ve ever been too, the gym has such a great culture and the personal trainers are all so friendly! There’s a girl named Ella on the front desk and she always greets everyone with a big smile and warm welcome, so does Brylee, not to mention they’re both very cute! Never leaving this place.
Fantastic experience: Great gym! The Reformer Pilates classes are my favourite to attend, the instructors are all amazing. The RPM classes are also the best I’ve been to and are taken in a beautiful glass studio overlooking the beach. Aesthetically stunning club and staff are very friendly !

Fantastic experience: The service was easily the best past. You don’t want to come to a health club and feel like you’re not welcome and not apart of something. Whenever I walk in the guys at the front desk, the PT’s, even all the members say hello! Love my club!
