Fantastic experience: Its always worrying when reviews for a place are split 50/50 between 1 star and 5 star. Personally I train late at night/ early morning so I haven't seen any staff. The machines are good and the place feels safe. I go to t e gym to workout and for that its easily a 5 star. 99% of people are training with headphones in and everyone seem s civil and willing to share equipment. If you are going there for hugs or your latest insta photo them maybe you are best off elsewhere

Fantastic experience: Been a member of Fitness First QV for some time now and I really appreciate the flexibility and support the team has shown especially given my unique travel schedule. I’m based overseas and only return to Melbourne every few months, and the team (especially Scott) has always been understanding in helping me suspend and reactivate my membership accordingly. Recent I had some billing issues and both Shane nd Karol were responsive and helpful while Scott was away. Once Scott returned, he personally reviewed the matter and went above and beyond to resolve it fairly though he wasn’t obligated to. In my honest opinion, I find it’s rare to find such professional and considerate customer service these days. The gym itself is well-equipped, clean, and centrally located but end of the day it’s really the team that makes the experience excellent. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: In short, BAD customer service, average equipment. Only good thing is 24/7 access. Long answer: I've been a member at this gym for over two years, and overall, the experience has been disappointing. FF really lacks in customer service—I’ve had multiple issues, especially around billing. On one occasion, I was overcharged and when I called to discuss it, the staff at reception mocked me and questioned whether I knew basic math. It was rude, unprofessional, and honestly shocking. The equipment is just okay—some are missing, and quite a few often need repairs. The only real advantage is the 24-hour access, which is convenient. But based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend this gym to friends or anyone looking for respectful, reliable service.

Negative experience: I've not been to this gym but regularly eat at the excellent Thai restaurant below it. Unfortunately the Thai restaurant is terrorised by the terrific, building-shaking bangs from meatheads dropping free weights. FF should stop this or move. Feels dangerous.

Negative experience: Beware of Robin. He’s the brown receptionist. I’ve read recent reviews, I thought I’d provide my 2 cents here on Robin. In November, I experienced a humiliating incident w/ this individual; decided to not review publicly & escalated internally instead. The service recovery I received was just an apology, which I was totally fine with it. However, what happened 2 months ago has prompted me to writing this today — there hasn’t been a follow up or proper/genuine attempt with the Management. On Payments, they were hasty. Clearly this role is not fit for someone who’s no service etiquette and stress management. You’re employed to uphold strong customer service skills. Perhaps learn to decline politely, provide friendly explanation and clear any doubts or misunderstandings to come to an amicable solution. I hope the team genuinely knows what they’re doing instead of assuming. Everyone else has always been great. Time to buck up mate, once is fine, twice is not. Negative experience: Their response to my review mentioned nothing about rude treatments I received apart from redirecting it to clarification of cancellation policy. It says sorry that I “felt” instead of apologizing for the fact that their staff was rude. That’s already said a lot about the company culture. Also please don’t lie about not able to contact me, QV Platinum MSM and the club manager have my email address due to this incident. They can look up my number to reach out. ***STAY AWAY*** or sign up under other branches. This branch’s staffs are treating customers especially leaving customers rudely. I have been with fitness first for 1 year (and longer for on and off periods) I gave the notice to quit on 31/03/2025. With 30-day notice period, the last day is 01/05/2025. I was advised the last payment would be charged on 28/04/2025 (Monday). I sent an email querying whether this charge would cover until 3-4May as it was full charge for a whole week. The staff, Af sent me email with information of how the Fitness first is entitled to the last full charge, no clear answer about possibility of termination date change. I rang the club in the attempt to check if I paid for the full week, would I be able to end my membership on 3-4May. This person, Af did not even listen and kept referring to the email. I was waiting for a clear answer including a “NO” which I did not get. While he was saying “thank you blah blah, have a good day” when talking over and interrupting me from getting any more word out of my mouth, he then hung up on me. This passive aggressive behaviour should not be tolerated. They were treating leaving customers badly while our membership fees made up part of money to pay their salary, not to mention that it was for just $10-15 (2-3days) question. The funny thing was that after I requested termination, the club manager, Scott came back to offer a lot of freebies including weekly fee reduction from $23.75 to $18.99. He is on leave now, that’s why I got responded by this, Af person instead. They were willing to cut $4/week but were so rude for $10-15 question. Luckily I didn’t decide to stay. To be honest, I do not care about small give-away $10-15 payment to the club but I do care about how I was treated. I will contact ACCC for this and head quarter if it’s available. In response to that, Af was being so polite in the email (CC his manager) as opposed to his manner on the phone with me. He informed me I could contact ACCC and he “appreciated” my feedback.

Negative experience: I’ve witnessed something very frustrating today: I heard a woman complaining about how she was harassed in this gym and the staff seems to dismiss her complaint by mentioning how harrasment is normal in a gym environment. What an odd thing to say.

Negative experience: The worst gym I have ever been. So many entitled male members come over as a group, enjoy bullying female new trainees, hoarding on equipment for a long time with no reason, even they don't use it! But the gym staffs don't seem care about it. Not to mention the chaos happened when I was attempted to cancel the membership. One staff told me no need to tap the card because it would not be working for the last month. There was some sort of errors made by their DD company who deducted wrong amount from my card. (can't even explain the situation, cause no staffs were able to tell what the error was) But my partner still got fined cause I was following him??Nonsense, stay away from this gym.

Negative experience: The employee guy in the reception with a long hair need a course of the nice treatment for international members, he is expecting people knowing everything. And it is cost nothing if he explain with a smile. Most of international people in CBD staying for a short time so it would be nice if employees explain everything for us instead of expecting us to know it. Otherwise the gym is great

Positive experience: Personal trainer Rob Taylor is very good; cares about what he's doing and is great motivation to get fit. The gym is kind of spectacular, well laid out with lots of different workout areas. If you can, try to avoid peak hours.

Negative experience: I had a terrible experience at the QV Club this morning with one of the receptionists, whose name I believe is AJ or AF. I came in wearing regular clothes, without any gym gear, as I was only looking for help in booking a temporary trainer because my regular trainer is on vacation. Instead of assisting me, the receptionist insisted on checking me in. I made it clear that I wasn't there to use the facilities, just to find a trainer. He then raised his voice and rudely asked if I "couldn't read" while pointing to the club's rules on a board. This kind of unprofessional and disrespectful behavior is unacceptable, especially since I’ve been a customer for months. I wasn’t even using the gym or amenities – just trying to get help with a trainer. If this is how the club treats its members, I can't recommend Fitness First QV Club to anyone. Really disappointed and won't tolerate being spoken to like that again.

Negative experience: Be careful with your belongings. Specially in the change room. I lost my Nike track pant during mid day. Usually, I put my stuff in the locker but this one occasion I forgot my track pant on the bench, came looking for it in 20 mins and it was gone. I do not understand why someone would do that. Members pay approx. $100 as monthly pay I am sure everyone coming there can afford a track pant. Reported the issue at the reception and strongly requested them to give a found/not found response. But no reply from them yet. It's been a month.

Positive experience: I joined this gym for a year membership because the place looked fantastic. It has a big, open space with floor-to-ceiling windows that let in a lot of natural light, making it a really comfortable environment to work out in. The gym itself is quite spacious, which is great. However, soon enough, I've noticed that they've taken on too many members. Most of the time, it's hard to find an available machine, which can be really frustrating.

Negative experience: Be careful with your personal belongings at night time when the lockers are not working. I forgot to write this review when this happened but I complaint at the reception and to the manager back then, they couldn’t care less about my situation. I always go to the gym at Melbourne central but unfortunately is not 24h so had to go to the QV. My friend and I left our staff in the lockers because had big bags and some shopping so it was gonna be hard to move around the gym with so many things. Next day I started getting notifications from the bank, someone stole my card at the gym and started using it in different shops around the Docklands area. The worst part is that they not only took my card but also more than $200 I had in cash. It was devastating, one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve had since I arrived to Australia because the bank couldn’t give me the money back as it was spent by tapping the card. As I said when I talked with the manager and someone at the reception they didn’t show any kind of interest about my situation. And yes I understand that they can’t do anything about my money but I explained that Is ridiculous that we pay one of the most expensive memberships in fitness first and we can’t have the locker service at night to feel safe and avoid this kind of situations. I also asked them to please check the cameras at that period of time to know which members went inside the lockers area at that time, I explained that the gym was almost empty and not many women that night. Is not possible to know who was but were not many people and if the situation happens again and they already have a report of suspicious members it can be very helpful. Nothing, they didn’t want to check and also asked my number but never got a call from them about the cameras or anything. Fix that lockers service and show a bit of empathy, if you have cameras is for something! At least do something with that.

Negative experience: Fantastic experience with the management here! They took a week to respond to my concerns and seemed to forget they'd already spoken with their staff. Loved how they immediately asked my friend to pay for a replacement card without checking the lost card box, even though the card was there all along. Truly a masterclass in customer service and efficiency. Highly recommend if you enjoy unique approaches to problem-solving!

Negative experience: I’ve called the people working here multiple times on how to cancel the membership way prior before the contract end date. None of them put in the cancellation for me and or gave me clear/correct instructions on how to put in a cancellation. Now the contract has been extended for a month, the membership price has increased, and I’m sitting with a month’s waste of money. The person I spoke with over the phone today also told me there was no way to revoke this extra month of membership. I understand that it is listed in the contract but I was told multiple times by other employees over this year the wrong information about it. I would've appreciated the correct help to avoid this.

Negative experience: Previously worked at a Boutique gym myself and worked within sales - myself and two of my friends had rocked up wanting to try out this gym as advertised its a free pass. After waiting 5-10 minutes it basically involved a guy asking 1000 questions on what we are training, where do we live etc. Then proceeds to tell us that the free pass isn’t valid because you need an appointment. We visited Melbourne for that week and have plans to move to Melbourne CBD as we take our fitness seriously - we were trying many beautiful gyms in Melbourne. As we were trying several gyms in Melbourne - we were surprised as to why we needed an appointment as he just spent more than 10 minutes with us talking already. (after the health questionnaire being filled) so he then explains that he will show us around and if we like it - sign up to then say afterwards “if you dont like it, cancel” - we just wanted to try the gym first and felt very forced the entire time. Other gyms in Melbourne gave us a great experience whilst being able to give us information. We decided to leave as he was still persistent on not letting us train. I hope this can be taken kindly - I understand everyone has KPI’s to work for; although maybe give walk ins a personalised experience first before forcing us to sign up.

Negative experience: I have been bullied by the personal trainer Huss many times. When he was training in the shared space with his members, they told me I can’t train there. And keep training very closed to me, try to squeeze out of the zone. What I was doing the push up, he and his member kept going across me above my body and made me tripped over and bleed. I am very upset and the FF management never did anything
Negative experience: If you are planning to get a gym membership and fitness first is still accepting new comers, i urge you not as you will waste your money and sanity dealing with ridiculously overcrowded people using every single equipments. At this point its no difference what time you come for a workout its always full. Even for me myself, im finding very hard to workout smoothly, no joke.
Negative experience: Be very careful while signing up with these guys. I made the biggest mistake of enrolling with these guys and in return I am subjected to mental harassment by the management of this Gym. They encourage fraudulent practices via their PTs who charge you the money and not deliver the services and when I raised them with the PT manager, I was blocked on email. Despite providing all the proofs of the conversation with the PT, I wasn't heard. The PT himself knows he is backed by management of this gym and continues to do as he wishes. Being new to fitness I trusted these guys with my physical health and ended up being harassed mentally. This place encourages unfair practices and engages in minting money from customers and their is absolutely no accountability. There is no management if anything goes wrong and they will blindly side with the PTs.

Negative experience: Thieves. Read your contracts carefully, because even if you sign a non-binding contract, when you stop your subscription there's a one-month period. I wanted to stop my contract and I still have to pay for 1 month even though I never go to the club. Swindlers
Negative experience: Used to be good, now you’re paying PREMIUM with memberships continually going up for a safety hazard. Gym plates left everywhere all over the floor, barbells left in the middle of walkways, dumbbells left all over the gym. All equipment is just dumped as if making an obstacle course, EVERY MORNING. Spend half your time searching the gym for DB’s, BB’s, plates and cable attachments because the gym is a dump. Messiest club in Melbourne. Jokers.
Fantastic experience: Five stars for ease of use and location. Gym equipment itself is average, i’d recommend coming either very early or during work hours so you get a free run of the equipment. Staff have always been very polite and greet you when you come and go. Bathrooms are a mess, not sure if that says more about the venue or the people using the facilities. Overall a great choice if you work in the CBD and want to gym before or after work.

Fantastic experience: The facility is really amazing. It has got plenty of equipments and free weights. The staff is friendly and the trainers are very professional. The overall ambience gives positive vibes and the workout feels like fun.
Fantastic experience: 24 hours access, Decent facility with a lot of space and decent equipment.
Negative experience: This gym is always busy…most of the time the facilities you wanna train get occupied. Gym goers here always come in a group so you have to wait more than 30+ mins for each of them to finish that bench until your turn for example. Most of the time, antiseptic wet wipes, toilet papers ran out and nobody refilled…sometimes, toilet is dirty & bins were full and again nobody cleans/clears them (poor ad hoc duties). FYI if you are a unique person like me who likes fashion and change to different gym clothes/colours each week then you have to aware bunch of nosy people (especially Malaysians & Singaporeans) like to gossiping about you every time when they see you around…their gossiping just non-stop like annoying flies during summer. If you select to sign up this gym, be prepare to face these bummers….
Positive experience: The reception staff are friendly and welcoming. There are lots of equipments available. Plenty of water stations and trainers that you can approach and there are classes that I can join. The only concern that I want to raise are the toilets everytime I went there for our afternoon class itwas very dirty, have poops, blood and urine everywhere (i mean in every toilet in female) I don’t know if it’s the same with male toilets. I think the ff management do their job for example posting the do’s and don’t of using the toilets at the door but there are still irresponsible users that don’t even care about it. So I suggest for the management to always make sure the toilets are usable and clean because as a fitness center health is very important and for me it can affect someone health if the surroundings aren’t clean.

Negative experience: BEWARE: Their trainers will flat out steal from you, and when you try to resolve it they just ghost you and say it's not their problem. No accountability and absolutely shocking and unconscionable behaviour.

Negative experience: Put my account on hold only to come back to debt collectors trying to charge me $600. This gym is dodgy trying to pay off there bills scamming customers
Negative experience: $5 to pause membership per week? 30 days notice to cancel gym membership, seriously? Gym is large and have lots of equipment but your terms are terrible!
Positive experience: It's okay. One thing I will say for a gym that you're paying more than other places they host a lot of advertising. Electronic billboards plugging stuff, infomercial channels always on the TV, and morning shows which are also just glorified infomercials.
Positive experience: Cancelled membership for personal reasons. Natasha was great though, she's very sweet and showed me the full tour of the gym. She is 5⭐️

Negative experience: This is the worse service gym in the world. Rude staffs. If you want to stop menbership, they will continue to charge. This is a scam gym. Stay away from this gym.

Fantastic experience: I love Fitness First QV - professional yet friendly staff, very knowledgeable on their area and helps achieve your goals! I like both the personal training and group fitness classes - there’s options if you want to do 1:1, your own workout or if you want to do it with a bunch of likeminded people working towards the same goal -to improve physical/mental health.
Fantastic experience: My favourite FF in town. Friendly staffs, good vibes, amazing cardio equipments (treadmill belts still look fresh out of the box) and nicely maintained too. The best treadmill I've ever run in! the cushioning deck felt smoother than the technogym's @ other FF branches. The strength area is quite spacious with lots of racks & very rarely gets overcrowded.
Negative experience: I have been going here on and off from 2 months when my original club FF Bourke st closed permanently. I would say the problem in this place is its too crowded in evenings. My older club had lesser Nd older equipment but i was able to complete my workout peacefully at any time even in peak times. FF can be considered as a bit more premium gym than most other gyms with a premium price but whats the point if you cant train peacefully and have to weight at every equipment for 10-15 minutes. Especially the weight training areas, I’m not about classes i use the weight training area most often and its very very crowded. The music is always very loud, its so loud that i hear 2 different songs in my Airpods Pro with Noice cancellation on. The biggest trouble i have seen in after staff hours is people letting in their friends without memberships. Come on dude, it’s already so crowded for you to bring more freebies in. Please staff the gym with at least one staff at night if possible like Doherty’s gym so that you can check on this. Or do some action like a fine or something. My training routine has been completely upset after transferring last note- If you are joining recently and are planning to go to this club in peak times, expect to complete 1 hour workout not before 2 hrs. Otherwise, you would stop going to this gym soon but your fees will keep on going
Negative experience: Disgusting! Recently started training at this 24/7 terrible facility. Someone locked my locker by using his own card after hours and I'm already not feeling so well. Management is a serious joke. People who follow the rules don't have to suffer like that. A month ago someone broke my card. Please avoid! This gym is full of terrible students not for professionals.
Negative experience: Terrible experience had at this "gym". There is weights scattered throughout and its just overall filthy. The personal trainer i ran into was rude and unprofessional. Also, there is alot of filming going on in this gym which gives off creeper vibes.
Fantastic experience: Have enjoyed my time training at this gym. The team are great! Very friendly and helpful. It's good to see they've finally upgraded some of the machines as it was well needed.
Positive experience: One of the better fitness firsts in the CBD area. Some of the equipment such as the plates could use an update but overall has a good variety and allows for quality workouts. Reception staff are friendly and helpful. 24 hr access available.
Fantastic experience: I have had a wonderful experience in this Fitness first QV. The place is big with lots of machines. I am training with Jaydon Nguyen, the greatest trainer of all time. He is specialized in muscle strength and fat loss. After a few month, I could see a big difference in my body and weight. Also, we have a great chemistry. And that makes me feel happy every time I have session.
Fantastic experience: I've enjoyed the weight and strength training with personal trainer Jaydon since last month. Previously I only went to the gym for treadmills which can be a little boring for my preference, and I haven't seen any changes to my body even after months. Currently on a 4 weeks challenge program with my personal trainer. Recommending the PT program for those who want to see the result in the gym and yet don't know where to start. Positive experience: Really large space which is good. Standard amount of ego warriors strutting around like any commercial gym. The coaches and staff are pretty ordinary but the gym is nice and it has seperate areas for each style which works out well
Fantastic experience: It's really nice here and the 24-hour opening hours give me a lot of flexibility. Most people are friendly. Adequate stationary and aerobic equipment. The downtown location makes it easily accessible to all!
Negative experience: This gym is in extremely unorganized and filthy now - mainly due to being over crowded. Equipments and weights are just littered everywhere. This gym was great before mid 2022. Starting ~July 2022, the management shifted focused on getting new members without any regards or care for the existing members. Ever since, new members have shown up with no respect for other patrons and equipment. 1. Plates are on the floor all the time and not organized, ever. I've seen 25, 20, 15, 10kg plates in the same organize bar. 2. Dumbells are never in the right spots. 3. Various equipments are just littered across the floor. 4. Towels, wipes and waterbottles littered and left over-night. 5. Despite being extremely busy, PTs always hog up at least two spots for very long periods of time (~20 min minimum). I'd rather pay premium and have a good gym rather than this disgusting state. They clearly do not have enough staff to keep the gym clean and organized. In addition, they are doing 2023 Valentine's promotion now. This undoubtedly is going to make the gym state even worse. I strongly urge the management to stop getting new members, hire more staff and do programs to existing members to clean up themselves. I'll leave this gym as soon as my contract expires mid this year if this remains unfixed. I have given feedback about the gym state ~2 months ago. It got worse.

Negative experience: Staffs here are like teenager kids running around their playground. Seriously Came in to update my proof of vaccination, somehow, they didn’t update it but advised me that they did. Unprofessional! Also, I have been told that to update the card takes 1-2 days?? But the worst part is after 2 days, the card is still unverified?? According to other FF brunch, QV haven’t done anything to my card and to verify it, it should only takes 1 hour.
