Negative experience: Step machine out of action for months!

Negative experience: Its been 1 month since weight machine had no batteries and showing low so .. thank me later i put the new batteries, put some extra on the table...

Positive experience: Great to see the music has been turned down, thank you. I'm enjoying my time at ZAP Sandy Bay where the space is respectful, quiet and inclusive.

Negative experience: Unfortunately ZAP is not taking care of their Gyms/equipment anymore. The cable is broken since 13/01/2025 (at least). That’s 10 weeks already.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member at Zap for at least 12+ years and have enjoyed the benefits of the range of equipment, the cleanliness of the gym and the personal welcome by the attendant. I go every 2nd day rain hail or snow. Fit as..................

Negative experience: showing classic signs of a business in distress. eg a simple broken cable is not repaired after 2 months. Their answer" waiting for parts" shows they keep nothing in store for basic maintainence.Cash flow problems suggest a deep malaise. When i first joined these repairs were done in days. Nice staff on premises but they cant fix what looks like a struggling business. Less people are coming in now which wont help the cash position. No improvements or new equipment ever. what next? closure? buy-out? some gym closures?

Fantastic experience: If you like a small, quiet and clean gym with good facilities this is a great one to be a member with.

Fantastic experience: The young man at the front desk is the definition of excellent and friendly customer service. Answered all my questions with confidence and had a warm welcoming attitude for someone who's considering starting the gym but is nervous. Its quite small so best to come in the mornings to get the most out of a workout.

Negative experience: If you guys charge late fees just one day late dont you think guys you should fix equipments also in day instead of taking 3-4 weeks ??? And as you told me you will connect to me within 24 hours i still got no mail or anything from you guys.

Negative experience: I don’t recommend Zap Sandy Bay either! I guess the receptionist is new. She didn't communicate to us the terms and conditions clearly and honestly. I asked her repeatedly if there are any cancellation fees to which she said, “no we don't have any cancellation fees as long as you give a notice of 30-day”. Now I am moving interstate and wanted to cancel my membership. I called the customer care and they told me that there is a cancellation fees. I get it, the fees is their policy but why be dishonest about it? I feel so cheated at this point, very poor customer service indeed. I wonder what they are teaching their staff or are they training them at all? My advice- don’t fall for their marketing gimmicks, I am sure you will find better fitness centres in Hobart.

Negative experience: The gym staff told me there is no cancellation fee when I joined but once you call the ZAP service number they ask to pay cancellation fee which is above 200$ . They provide contradicting information to attract customers . It’s not worth joining this gym , they don’t have many equipments as well . I don’t understand why they allocate staff who doesn’t know anything about gym policies and procedures and they give you false informations and you feel trapped when you think to cancel your membership. I don’t recommend ZAP.

Negative experience: I won't recommend any zap fitness. You join the gym, you pay. You put it on hold, you have to pay. Even if you cancel your membership and you are not in a contract you still have to pay. Go to the gym and its really small and selected machines. I contacted for my membership to be cancelled on 29/6 and sent 2 emails and didn't receive any reply in 6 days. Finally called today for the enquiry and was told that i will still be charged for a month even if i cancel it. If you want to experience it yourself. Come and visit.

Negative experience: Really not a fan of the dishonour fee with no warning. If I pay the same day an automated payment doesn't work why do you need to charge $10 for that?

Negative experience: During staffed hr and there’s no staff... been waiting for 30 min, so unprofessional

Positive experience: limited space for body weight exercises beyond sit ups etc, no duplicates of popular dumb bells so you can be waiting also no fixed barbells rack as per other gyms which would be nice addition (10-30kg)

Positive experience: Have to add some more sets of light dumbbells and plates. It’s small gym, crowded and have to wait hours to get your turn.

Negative experience: one of the worst gym ever. It’s Small than my room and no more equipments . They should charge 5$ for this tiny gym rather than ripping people money

Negative experience: While I still go here for the location, I wouldn't recommend it. We've only got 1 rack, even though MANY of the regulars have been requesting a second rack for years! The place looks like it hasn't been vacuumed for months.

Fantastic experience: Honestly the cleanest Zap I've worked out at, most gym goers are good at cleaning up after themselves here as well. Staff are really friendly here. Although it is on the small side which means it can get crowded and you sometimes have to be strategic with your routine.

Fantastic experience: Great little gym, membership comes with included access to all other zapfitness gyms around Australia.which is mind blowing for the price vs other gyms. The sandy bay gym feels bigger then in the google photos and has a few more pieces of equipment then google photos so I give it 5☆. Can't wait to try the Hobart zap fitness.

Positive experience: Good gym, well located but the Sandy Bay facility must be the smallest of all Zap locations.

Although there is not the same equipment available when compared to alternative Zaps, you will quickly find all you need to have a rounded workout. This review is for newer gym goers as people with specialised requirements may feel differently. Always greeted with a smile and rarely have to wait for any equipment

Negative experience: Very rude! Very very very rude! Never had such a rude, thoughtless, and unfriendly service in Hobart, worst of the worst! I may use other branch if better customer service, however, Sandy Bay Zap is the worst of the worst! Never going back!!!
