Fantastic experience: Friendly gym, no hassels and service with a smile

Fantastic experience: I go here to see my Personal exercise Physiologist Krystal, 3 days a week. I love the friendliness, and wonderful customer service, of everyone I've met who work there. The gym equipment is the best I've used and I'm so happy when I'm around such positive, friendly people. Thank you everyone, especially my saviour Krystal for putting up with me.

Negative experience: Beware, staff will make all kinds of promises to get you to sign up and then not follow through on any of them. Staff are super nice until you are locked into a long-term contract, then customer service goes straight out the window. I even had a staff member laugh at me when discussing a medical condition. I've had a better experience at chain gyms.

Negative experience: Friendly staff, good but management not really good for customer care. I have plans to move the city in a month but want to use facilities for a while so I asked staff for any recommendations, the staff advised me for full access to pay up front for 3 months which most suitable for my case without giving another information about refund or other things but after registered for 3 days, I need to move urgently so I go to cancel my membership but they said nothing can do with refund because I paid up front also they don’t have any refund policies. They asked me to find another to replace the my course or just leave with nothing. So please improve your services about giving information other wise new customers will misunderstanding and lose their money without nothing. For swimming pool is too crowded with kids who come for swimming lessons that you can use with others only 2 lanes. If you go there too slow you will not able to use swimming pool and waste your time to wait.

Fantastic experience: Change rooms are very clean!. Spa and steam room are a great way to relax after swimming laps. The pool itself is great and spacious with lanes. I find if you’re wanting to do weekly laps I find around 12:45pm during week days is the best time around school period as a member to go swimming as it is not very busy at that time which is good it’s not overwhelming for some people like me that don’t like being in crowded places especially when it comes to swimming centres.

Fantastic experience: Great spot. Always clean and staff are so friendly and accommodating. My wife and I went their frequently before having the little one and now she comes with also. Also good to see the continuous improvements. Great job team - thank you.

Fantastic experience: I recently started attending the Fit 4 Life class here on Wednesday mornings. It seems to gave just the right combination of exercise and balance training for me.

The spacious facility with a fully-equipped gym with top-notch equipment, a refreshing indoor pool, and a wide range of group fitness classes in a dedicated studio. state-of-the-art equipment and spacious facilities.welcoming and supportive environment for all fitness levels. The only con was the fact that it's not 24*7

Negative experience: Aqua aerobics instructor said they'd need the lane soon, said no dramas, (no other lanes available due to swim program), figured we'd be told when a lane had opened up. Carried on swimming only to have the lane rope closed on my head by the aqua aerobics participants - disgusting manners - a coincidence that they were all white, and I'm non-white. Instructor was seemingly unfazed by what occurred.

Fantastic experience: Our children go there for swimming lessons and we’re very happy with everything. The staff are friendly, the lesson schedules are very well planned out and we’ve seen a great change in our children’s swimming skills.

Fantastic experience: Friendly staff with all sorts of classes ranging from spin to pump. There’s a decent weights room with a lot of machines as well as a good size pool. I highly recommend Friends Health & Fitness.

Fantastic experience: Excellent pool facilities, clean, not crowded. Love the lockers, spacey showers and hot water. The steam room trumps it for me.

Positive experience: Good fitness centre. They offer group classes, there is also a gym, and swimming pool. Wish there was a free trial option at some cost, for everyone to try out before signing up for a membership.

Positive experience: Friendly staff. Excellent learn to swim classes; small groups, ability to assess and assist my children to gain skills in water awareness. Clean facilities. The only thing I would suggest is the ability to have direct debit for the term.

Negative experience: As a member last year when I double confirmed after I cancel my membership, in the future if I rejoin again, do I need to pay for rejoining fee? The staff member 100% reassured I don’t need to pay the rejoin fee again. No one mentioned is within 90 days time period. But today when I go back ask about the rejoining process, they have to charge again for this payment. Should I pay to get the staff member training of the gym police?

Negative experience: Worst Staff (Instructor Guy SAM). They start closing from 7:30, but in the website it says 8:00. The instructor guy has a cheap attitude with his rude face. He starts walking around the pool area from 7:30 pm keep starring at ppl in the pool area, he pours CHLORINE CHEMICAL in the swimming pool at 7:30 pm while the swimmers in the pool which affect the SKIN and EYES. I am requesting the authority to take a severe action please or I will take it to a higher level.

Fantastic experience: Great front desk service and lovely swimming pool, usually good lane access, the lanes are well planned you just need to check school visit time tables. Good showers, lovely spa, the sauna can use an update like a lovely wooden nordic lined wall and nice smells, however the gym is very good, the best equipment, the best instructors, a great purpose built group fitness gymnasium with good range of very helpful rehab and other classes including most Les Mills programs. Yoga classes will make it absolutely the most perfect health facility (please?)! Clean!

Fantastic experience: I only do swim here (doesn’t use the gym facility). I like the pool here as it is quieter than aquatic centre, but a bit more pricy. I guess you get what you pay for. Overall happy with the place - car packing can be a bit narrow, may need to park off street on peak timing.

Positive experience: Interesting, I have not been to this place for many years, but I have heard good things of it.

Negative experience: I had a very poor customer experience in relation to one of their employees who was rude and inexplicably angered by the fact a 15 year old wanted to use the gym. There age policies are somewhat befuddiling and only allow 16 years old and above to access the gyms facilities in comparison to most places where it's 12 or at most 14. If you're under 16 you must be accompanied in pool which is ridiculous seeming as though in most places it's 10! 15 is the legal age to start working yet if you are under 16 you still need an adult. They should look at changing these policies and improving their customer service!

Negative experience: Well I have used the spa here infrequently for two years and today being Mothers Day I thought I would treat myself and my daughters. What a dissapointment the spas had half if jets working which was courtesy noted by a sign on the wall. I could have dealt with that if the spa had been clean! The tide line was clearly evident and the lining was filthly. Then we battled the showers three of the seven were not functional and not clean either.

Fantastic experience: I regularly go and use the Friends pool and spa. I believe this is the best swimming pool in Hobart. You swim in sunlight as the pool has a massive skylight above the pool. The Spa is hot and the jets work well. The spa even has two beds to stretch out on. Showers in the changeroom have heaps of pressure and are clean and hot.
