Negative experience: It’s been forever since they moved to the new location, still no action. Not too sure why it’s still listed or advertising.

Fantastic experience: It's a little bit crowded in the afternoon and evening but it's alright. It's pretty well maintained

Negative experience: Basically no gym in Townsville. Attempt to go here everytime I visit to find out by a local it's permanently closed, not temporarily. If I were living here I wouldn't have a membership.

Negative experience: 1 STAR because they are permanently CLOSED at this location!! Nothing about this on Google Business details OR their own website! I've encountered a couple of other Anytime Fitness branches that were permanently or temporarily closed, but they actually managed to update their online presence. It's a large national (and indeed global) franchise; standards should be adhered to.

Negative experience: I found the gym was pretty dirty & there would be no wipes to clean equipment for days on end.i didn't feel safe with covid because everyone is sweating all over the equipment & it's not being cleaned.about 6 weeks after u joined the gym it shut down & the new location isn't finished.i cancelled my membership.

Negative experience: It's very basic. Equipment is ok nothing special. Very small and can get very crowded. Parking can also be an issue so keep that in mind.

Fantastic experience: Great sized gym, modern equipment and very handily located in town for this interstate visitor. Also very well maintained and spotless. The gym is located in the shopping centre and there are two entrances. Note that the entrance from within the shopping centre will likely be closed during non staffed hours. Rather than complain like some people here did, I contacted the club and was informed of the 24 hour access door. This isn't the only anytime gym I've been to where you've had to figure this out. But I've included a pic so you know where to look. Head out the back of the top level car park and you'll see the signs. Mark this review as useful to push it to the top to help other out of towners. Don't be a Karen! I'll be back on next visit!

Negative experience: The lack of communication and effort from this gym to accommodate for its out of town members is pathetic. I am here on holidays and am an anytime member from out of town and I was unable to access gym facilities due to no staffing being in on a Friday at lunch time. It is understandable that the gym can not be staffed at all times but when trying to contact owners or calling the numbers on the door you get no response at all. Extremely disappointed with the lack of communication and the fact that you have out a sign in front of the doors on the inside to block people from entering the premises even if they are members. My swipe card would turn the lock green but the doors would still not open. Will not recommend this branch to anyone from out of town.

Negative experience: This gym does not cater for out of town customers. I am an anytime member from out of state and I was unable to access the gym facilities on a Friday during the day! There was no staffing and no one answering mobile phones. Extremely disappointed in the lack of communication and effort from this branch to accommodate for its members.

Positive experience: Convenient location for a couple of quick workouts while travelling. Lots of equipment but limited resources for Squat/Deadlift and nothing for Oly. Padded floor nice for neighbors but too soft for squats.

Fantastic experience: Small but a reasonable range of gear for weights or cardio.

Fantastic experience: The location of this gym is great, being in the CBD I can access on my lunch break or before/after work. The gym is very clean and I always see the staff cleaning the equipment and the common areas. The manager, Toni, is very warm, friendly and genuinely cares with any enquiries I’ve had regarding my membership and anything else. Would 100% recommend this gym, very positive vibes

Negative experience: Very small gym, the treadmills are so old and squeaky and you usually have to wait for equipment. Also Not much room to do free weights.

Negative experience: Woeful location, avoid if possible, nightmare for parking, owners need to relocate or open another gym where you can actually access the facilities. Major disappointment having to enter from the rear/tradesman entrance, very small with little usable space, no punching bag, no elliptical striders, poorly laid out compared to all the others I have been to around Aus :( ...... and to rub salt into the wound, the mirrors are so distorted you look like a freak if you step back more than 10 feet from the racks, really I can go to a clothes shop if I want to be lied to about my appearance

Positive experience: Nice gym but no free parking during the day if your vehicle is too tall.

Negative experience: Very disappointed with the management of this gym. Two of their own staff members are not aware of any details of the contract and one told me false information during my contract sign up. I signed up initially in Townsville for a 18month contract and clearly told the lady that I'd be moving to Mackay after 3 months, to ask if my rate would change. She continued to tell me that my rate would remain the same and that the rate would not change no matter which gym I attended. Soon after I left townsville, my membership got transferred to Mackay and my rate changed, with me paying more than $20 extra each month. I called Townsville to ask why I wasn't told about this, and the first girl who picked up also had no idea why my rate had changed and was determined that it should have stayed the same. She had to then call her manager and only then did they realise in the contract it says that the rate can change accordingly to the place you're attending. The fact that two of their own staff had no idea about this statement in their own contract and was clearly telling their clients something completely different is unacceptable.

Fantastic experience: Having come to Townsville on business I was looking for a casual option to workout, Yaz was extremely helpful, showed me where all the equipment is and even gave me a towel to use as I had forgotten mine. Overall a great experience and when I am back in North QLD I will be visiting here once more - Thanks again Yaz!

Negative experience: The management at this location is the most unprofessional group of people I have ever had the displeasure of interacting with. After staying in Townsville temporarily for work and then moving back to the U.S. they are unwilling to work with me on transferring my membership via the clause in their contract stating "if a member moves internationally the membership switches automatically to the new location." Be prepared to work with difficult people if you decide to get a membership here.

Negative experience: It's a very good gym with great high quality equipment and screens on the treadmills although if your after a cheap gym option this is definitely not it. Memberships are around $800 to $1000 dollars for the year.
