Welcome to Balaclava Fitness. We pride ourselves on our amazing diverse community, expert coaching and programming and friendly, welcoming atmosphere.

With one of the largest fitness facilities in Melbourne, just off bustling Carlise Street, Balaclava Fitness provides fun, effective and varied classes to suit all fitness levels.

You will be guided in all areas to improve your fitness, strength, coordination and flexibility/range of motion. Our work outs are ‘constantly varied’, meaning you will experience a different workout each day, incorporating body weight exercises, gymnastics, weightlifting movements and a variety of cardiovascular and strength training.

The high level of energy and professionalism of our coaches will ensure that you are kept accountable and are helped to reach and exceed your health and fitness goals in a fun, challenging and supportive environment. Our members come from all walks of life, with a huge range in age, fitness and ability. Everyone is supported and encouraged at Balaclava Fitness– there are no mirrors and no egos. When you step into our facility for the first time you’ll find that our community of inspiring coaches and members are invested in your journey from day one.

We’ve got the perfect program for you regardless of your current experience or fitness goals. It doesn’t matter what shape or size you are because at Balaclava, we’ve raised the bar for functional training with unique programs that all deliver an amazing workout and deliver the results you’re after. Our classes are programmed in 6 week blocks with structured progressions.  They are not random.  

If you follow our programs and listen to our coaches you will progress and reach your goals over time.  We can offer individualised programs as well if that is something you are after.

Our Fitness classes are High Intensity Training at it’s finest. Workouts include a variety of functional movements – everything from cardio and gymnastics to powerlifting.

First day jitters? Having second thoughts? Don’t worry because we got you. This is perfect if you are thinking of joining but want to give us a try first.

Fantastic experience: Balaclava Fitness is an excellent place to work out. Trainers at Balaclava Fitness are good communicators. They will keep you motivated with activities designed to both challenge and be fun.

Fantastic experience: I would recommend Balaclava Fitness for those who want to stay fit and healthy, as well as belonging to a friendly community of like-minded people. I have also witnessed the children's classes where the kids have fun and get a good workout at the same time.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend here for anyone looking to increase fitness and strength but who doesn't want to go to a normal gym. I'd never been to CrossFit, or a gym for that matter, until I moved to Australia a year ago. I thought I'd give CrossFit a go and I'm so happy I found this one! I really enjoy it. Far from intimidating, the coaches (and everyone who goes to session!) are welcoming, friendly, and will always help out if you have any questions or are struggling. Each session is differently, so the idea of just turning and being told what to do for an hour is great for me. Short, sharp, knackering, then carry on with your day!

Fantastic experience: Extremely friendly and welcoming vibe here. Was a little worried at first at how hard you would be trained and injuries but Ezra and the team ease you into it so nicely. Been there a few weeks now and feeling the gains and body feeling absolutely amazing. All those fears have been put to the side about crossfit and the way you are welcomed into this family.
